This team has proven its toughness, hope they use this well-deserved break to refine a few things on offense and special teams. The defense just needs to keep playing at a high level. Really hope Exum can be another weapon against opposing offenses.

Andy, would you be interested in grading the backups (as a unit) for each of these units? For instance, we all knew the 1st group D line was going to be good. But what about the backups? Have the second string shown enough growth to be in the game? A window to the future would be much appreciated.

Undoubtedly is has to be the 35-10 loss to Alabama in the opener. And its mostly because the defense gave the Hokies a good enough chance to stay in the game. Tech out-gained Alabama 212-206, but a pick six, two Alabama special teams touchdowns and about 10 drops sabotaged any chance the Hokies had of competing. - See more at: http://blogs.roanoke.com/andybittervirginiatechfootball/2013/10/19/a-mid...
Wow, I thought I was over the loss but after reading this not so sure.

I was getting nervous for Andy.
Sam's name didn't show up until close to the end.
