Derrick Nnadi and Melvin Keihn have to be locks. Right?

Frank Beamer visited Nnadi on his 67th birthday. That has to make a huge impression on Mr. Nnadi I would hope. Melvin Keihn visited UVa yesterday and their collapse, crowd, and performance had to seal the deal for VT. Right? Raymon Minor will follow suit eventually. Kind of surprised he hasn't committed. Final two spots will be Brandon Lee and Kendrick Holland I believe. If all 5 of these guys commit it will be an excellent end to a great recruiting class.

Nnadi is also considering FSU, and well, last night happened.

"Exit light..."

Well, shit.

Tempering expectations - it's what I do best. Based on recent history, I feel there is no such thing as a lock until the papers are signed.

"Exit light..."

I agree, I was just thinking that performance last night could be the nail in the coffin.

The only potential problems for FSU are (1) they already have 24 commits for next year, so it's getting tight and (2) they already have 5 other DTs committed.

"Exit light..."

I really want Nnadi, but we definitely need LBs bad. We have little depth and need to start bringing new guys in.

With DJ Reid and Marshawn Williams coming in and JC Coleman and Joel Caleb already playing RB why can't we move Trey Edmunds back to LB next year? I don't think RB is his natural position. I think he'd make an excellent LB with his speed.

Only if Reid and Williams come in and totally upend the depth chart. Otherwise, I see no reason to remove our best current RB from the equation. Edmunds is physical and strong (good in pass protection/blitz pickup), but I'm not sure the running game can survive without him, unless, as I said, someone comes in and blows everyone away.

"Exit light..."

No way, that ship has already sailed.

Yep, the only way to do that now is to recruit more Edmundses.

Any word on the plans to create more Fullers?

The Fuller Family could probably just adopt some 12 year old, change his last name to Fuller, and he will automatically become a 4*.

Just imagine if #AlltheFullers each have 4 sons of their own. Then in 18 years we could field a full team of Fullers, almost.

@VTimHokie85

4 sets of quadruplets?

Onward and upward

I feel sorry for each mother. They'd deserve something really really nice dealing with that.

I think when the time comes we put Mrs. Fuller's pregnancy tests on the scoreboard instead of her son's numbers. That being said I'll gladly help pay for in vitro fertilization for her if she's game.

We already have his bro, who is supposedly a better RB. I think his younger bro is a prospect too.

I'm pretty sure Terrell is slated to play DB, despite his high school tailback prowess.

But how many times has someone guaranteed that? Teller was slated to play defense. Granted he may switch back, but never know. Bucky could be a TE before long? Joel Caleb was a WR?

Anyway, never know till we get there. If I were Terrell, I may realize that there is a lot of depth and talent at DB. Next year will be crazy for that position.

No question. But depending on how our recruiting class rounds out, we could be crazy deep at RB too. One could argue how many guys will stick (i.e. Caleb and Mangus), but the numbers aren't too far off what we have in the secondary. You're right though, nothing is ever settled.

Hope we get them. Nnadi can really thrive with our team.

Derrick Nnadi can be our next Derrick Hopkins. Ricky Walker can be our next Luther Maddy.

I don't think we get Brandon Lee. I think we get Keihn. Nnadi is a toss-up. I think we have a decent chance though.

Didn't FSU already sign like 3 4* D lineman in this class? Geez, I'd figure this helps our chances somewhat with Dnadi, but who knows, FSU is playing lights out right now and the only potential thing in their way is the Hokie D!

I Hope we can land all of them lol

Yesterday Melvin got to see a half-filled stadium, discontent fans, see a team with no heart, and coaches with no clue. When is he coming to Blacksburg?

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

ASAP I hope. He could see immediate action next year for VT.

Rivals also has VT in the running for two 4* RB's: Shai McKenzie and Donte Thomas-Williams. Any word if VT has any real chance of landing them? Would be nice to get some real depth at RB and both of these guys are more in the mold of the VT backs of old 6' 220lb.

Shai-- Tech is in the top 2 with Pitt. Thomas-williams not on the radar.

UVA: Jefferson's biggest mistake

@pbowman6

Good to know, thanks for the response.

The Dude Abides

We have a very good chance with Shai. Not so much Thomas-Williams.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

I'm guessing we see Mangus move back to WR for next year? With Reid, Williams, and possibly Shai coming in, our backfield will be crowded.

Edmunds
Coleman
Caleb
Mangus
Reid
Williams
~McKenzie - possibly.

Shai blew out his knee, no doubt he will be red-shirted his first year at VT>

I imagine Ried, Shai (if we get him), and possibly Williams will all redshirt but like that they are all bigger than the backs we have now. I imagine Edmunds will be up to 220lbs and possibly Caleb, too with some gentrification. I want to see Mangus and Coleman utilized more now though.

One prediction down. 4 more to go.
