Can't beat the support and future add one the DJI products. Buy the model one prior and it's fairly cheap. But you can add to it as you get more involved.

I don't know the current price points on all these, but you can't go wrong with a Phantom, Mavic , Mambo, etc. Stay away from Yuneec. Never been impressed by anything of theirs.

It's a fantastic entry level version of the other DJI products, just without quite as many bells and whistles. They offer refurbished products as well, which come with a pretty comprehensive warrantee. The "fly more" combo is just above your upper limit, but well worth it for the package you get...
If you don't get the combo, I do recommend getting the controller for it as it makes it much easier to control and also increases the operating range. Here's a photo I took with mine on a trip this summer:

Parrot Mambo. It's about $200. Small and easy to use. You can also get a claw, camera, etc to make it fun. (Can get it at BestBuy or Amazon)
DJI Phantom.
I saw that one. The UpAir 1 seems to be a knockoff of the Phantom for a bit cheaper.

One that can spy on other teams' practices without detection
MQ-9 to make that right impression on everyone else. An impression that says "You mean business!"

By far the DJI Mavic Pro. I use it for everything. Easy to handle and get photos.

Looks good, but more than double my price range :)
sorry I meant just the DJ Mavic. You can get a nice used one for like 400$ now online. Since the new model came out everyone is getting rid of theirs.

The DJI Spark is probably your best bet, imo.
