ESPN article on food/recruiting

Articles like this make me smile. There's not a school in the country that can compete with what we have to offer when you combine football and campus dining.

Word to that, I was looking for mention of the best food in the country! Go Hokie Food!

As a post-grad, I can tell you that West End is one the biggest things I missed about being in college.

Agreed. We go there whenever we are in town. Love me some hokie club.

I wonder where they take recruits... I recall seeing them in west end and that is a given. I wonder if they hit any of the restaurants downtown or if it is all on campus food. Brunch at Boudreaux's was always stellar too.

I was always a fan of souvlaki, but that was really the only place I ever went to. (I graduated right as they finished Moes).

I hope they take recruits to Homeplace

I think they can bring them, but recruits would have to purchase.

Per NCAA rules, recruits are allowed to have six meals, plus snacks, during the 48-hour period they're on campus and the meals must be comparable to those provided to student-athletes during the academic year.

I would say they have an array of selections considering the football team gets food catered from just about everywhere when the dining halls are closed. The nutritionist does a good job of keeping the players well fed, so I'd imagine it's the same for recruits.

a year or so back, i thought i read a tweet from a recruit praising the Cook-Out shakes he got when visiting with his campus guide... but there is no doubt that they are laying out the full spread in the dining halls for these kids

good call I completely forgot about that place. I used to eat so much it was the worst ride back ever.

I had to search for this one, but I'm currently broken down in Fayetteville, Ar right outside of the Razorbacks campus. So I'm gonna check out the place referenced in this espn article... the catfish hole. I'll let you guys know how it is.

Also, I'm not really broken down.. but the welding on the trailer carrying my car broke, so... I'm not really going anywhere.
