VT is hosting UNC-Charlotte in the 2nd round of the NCAA soccer tournament.
Through the first half, the score is 0-0. VT has been very organized from the defensive midfield back to the keeper. Charlotte only generated one real threat in the half. Offensively, VT has not committed numbers forward and has not really been able to generate a sustained attack. VT has generated 4 corner kicks (to Charlotte's 1) off of some three man play just outside the box but none of the corner kicks have generated a substantial scoring chance.
Eventually one of the teams will have to commit to finding a goal, the question becomes will a defensive breakdown result in the 1st goal after good organization by both team for 45 minutes or will numbers forward generate sustained pressure and success.
The Hokies have a good shot at advancing right bow. Go Hokies.

Ball centered from the right side. VT committed more guys on the attack after a patient minute or two of ball control.
VT defender cleared one off the line.
Score stands at 1 - 0 with 11:34 remaining.
Charlotte rings one off the crossbar,
