Anyone else think we will dust off the orange brain buckets and unis for this weekend, or do we go ahead and wear maroon?
Second time for Hokie stone helmets? thoughts?

IF, I say IF we wear the Hokie Stone helmets again, I would prefer to see them this weekend. The only reason is that Duke and Tech are the only two institutions that own their own quarry. (I know it was said before that it was very possible to wear them again this year...) But I can also see them saving them for the Terps. In a Nike vs UA type thing. We seem to bring our different unis for them.
However, given the Orange Effect game, I would prefer to see Orange lids.
Orange Effect, so I'm going with a lot of orange. I'd be OK with the Hokie Stone helmets, but my money is going to be on orange helmet with white slant VT, orange jerseys, white pants.
ULTRAVIOLENT:
This makes me way happier than it should. Is there anyway we can shop this image to be more Hokieish? Like... Make all four of the droogs into a Fuller. Or change the words to say "Clockwork D." Or "Clockwork Foster." Or "Defensive Orange." Or, I know! Replace "Stanley Kubrick's" to "Frank Beamer's," the four guys become Beamer, Foster, Gray, and Wiles, leave "Clockwork Orange" alone.
#ALLORANGEEVERYTHING?
Oh trust me I feel the same way. Just think it would be funny if we did
Yes, this makes me shutter as well. I hope I never see the carrot stick look...never.

HT: @hokie20
Danny Coale was black???
No but #19 Chuck Clark is. Sounds like a superhero's alias name. I can dig it, hope this kid makes it big on the team one day.

And sooner than I think we all expected... Chuck Clark has been summoned. Didn't even know this kid's name 26 hours ago.
Shudder. The word you wanted to use there was shudder.
Sorry, that one drives me mad...
We're not doing the Hokie Stone helmets again because they auctioned them off. My guess is either maroon or white brain buckets, orange jerseys and white pants
EDIT: Brain buckets
Only 12 were auctioned off, so they can be replaced. IIRC they are intending to wear them again at some point, but that may be based on rumor.
Thought I read the same...
They were reserving the possibility of wearing them again.
Id like Maroon buckets, orange jersey, maroon pants. I know we lost the only time we have worn them but they looked awesome

I kinda thought we looked like pumpkins. We definitely played like pumpkins.
Sergio in the background there looked like one but that is inevitable if he wears orange...
idk that looks pretty ugly in my opinion
My guess is orange jerseys, maroon helmet, white pants.
The way god intended it.
With a little maroon please.
Yeah we should change 'Orange Effect' to 'Orange Amped'
ORANGEonlyjerseysEFFECT!
Maroon everything
ALL DAY, ERRYDAY!
Except Srrrday! SARCASTICA
MaroonEVERYTHING!!! Orange Shoelaces or gloves. That is enough to pull off the orange effect for me
Nothing rhymes with orange.
The colour was named after the fruit.

Why the hate? (+1)
Yeah.
Haha. People have strong opinions on the weirdest shit.
So was it for for being #TeamOrange, or #TeamOrange?
I'm still confused.
I think it was colour vs color.
The British U is divisive!
Color.
well the English spelling is colour...and they sort of invented the language so...yeah
But 'Merica!
I was trying to be interesting and create a play on words for Orange. Then google suggested that I search orange in sign language.. lol, I'm done
Regardless of who made the language, the greatest gift Britain ever gave to the world was America. We spell things different, drive on the other side of the road, Fahrenheit, etc.
So, America. Fuck yeah. :D
Fahrenheit? Anyone who uses them knows that metric units are far, far superior to english units.
^this^

Other notable idiot (english) units:
- 1 lbf = 32.2 lbm = 1 slug (yes, slug).
- Whatever the heck a btu is (I know, it's a british thermal unit, doesn't make it less dumb)
- long tons, otherwise known as a ton + a little bit more
- gallons, quarts, pints
How about stone for your weight? :-)
Ugh, the BTU has to be the worst unit ever. Energy required to heat 1 pound of water (seriously) by 1 degree Fahrenheit. It's just compounded crap upon crap. Joule FTW.
The man wont let me copy an embed code, but I believe this is appropriate

EDIT: NSFW
Joules are best, but I believe the other commonly used energy unit (Calorie) is derived in the exact same way as a BTU. The amount of energy required to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius, I think.
This is the best fucking football site in America. This conversation proves it.
Specific heat can be expressed in Joules or calories (careful, nutritional "Calorie" is actually 1 kcal in thermodynamics!), it just depends on the units of the constant you use in the calculation. I'm in kcal world now based on the software I'm using for my research, but I stick with SI units as much as I can ;)
/geek out
And since it uses pounds, the most ambiguous and moronic unit ever not counting those that are derived from it, it can vary with gravity depending on how it's defined (lbf, lbm, slug, fuck it all). So 1 BTU at sea level is different than 1 BTU on the ISS or on Mars. I'm sure there is a standard of using lbm, but in my happy world pound varies with gravitational acceleration, because science is supposed to make sense.
Every time at work I hear the words "pound" and "mass" used interchangeably I want to choke someone.
On your last sentence, I know how you feel. Just want to punch someone in the neck for it.
for my boundary layer theory class, i learned early on that regardless of what mess of units the professor decided to use, I would always switch to metric--solve the problem, then convert to the necessary units. It was much easier that way. Metric ftw.
Forgot barrels. 15.5 gallons in 1/2 barrel (used mainly for beer barrels, aka 1keg) 5 gallons in a sixtel.
All I know is my car gets 40 hectares on a single tank of kerosene
How many furlongs per fortnight?
God I wish we'd change to the metric system already.
Remember Virginia was the first state to switch to the metric system for all government projects. We were also the first state to switch back...
Down with Metric!
Our roller coaster looks way more fun, and check it out! We built a teetertotter!
God Bless not the Metric System.
I giggled knowing the thread would be highjacked. I'm just funnin'.
Color, colour, we're all orange and maroon. Or oraunge and maruun. Whichever works. :D
I hope we do maroon helmets, orange jerseys, and maroon pants. When they wear white with the orange it makes the orange look lighter and not as good. When we wear maroon, it seems darker and more menacing. Hopefully we crush Duke.
They should do orange helmets that are designed to look lie Pumpkins!!
