Per the article, this all but ensures a 3:30 or prime time slot for this game.
The 2014 schedule looks roughly like this-
Aug 30 - William and Mary
Sept 6 - Ohio State
Sept 13 - East Carolina
Sept 20 - ? this was the previous date for OSU
Sept 27 - Western Michigan
plus home games versus GT, Miami, UVA, and BC and on the road at Duke, UNC, Pitt, and Wake.

Random question that came about between my friends and I after discussing this announcement:
If a player is redshirted, does that mean he can't dress for the games? I think the answer is no since redshirts can be lifted at any time, even during a game. I didn't feel like starting a whole new thread for this. I'd appreciate it if someone knows the answer and can respond.
You can dress for every game even if you are being redshirted. They can pull the shirt at any time, see Tyrod vs LSU

He did, both followed loses, and while the LSU game was not technically a loss yet, putting Tyrod in prevented VT's shutout streak, which was not only in jeapordy, but a lock if Tyrod didn't go balls-out to put 6 on the board for VT in Death Valley.
