I didn't want to start a thread for this. sometimes I wish we had DMs on here. but never the less. putting out an APB for all things football to be added to the basketball team? atleast for ACC play. I know there is a lot more game and im fine with not having a big hoopla over teams like NCA&T but once ACC play starts id like to see some forensics, hatin on, maybe Hendog can do a little review every now and then for the key play members?, and some of our other great traditions here at the key play. just a thought and throwing it out there. sine we are a basketball school now and were going to be going dancing this year, I though maybe it would help some folks who wouldn't normally participate or get as excited about basketball to join in the ride and maybe have a little more vested interest and knowledge of what we got going on.

yeah. honestly wasn't trying to write as much as I did lol but didn't want to start a forum with a sentence and then kinda rambled and snowballed my thoughts with out really thinking to much into it.

you here for hokie content or English class? this has happened to me more than once. honestly IDC that much about my grammar when posting on a forum. I try my best for it not to come out like jibersh sometimes I rable when I type, get carried away, and lose myself without noticing what I actually wrote, but from time to time I provide inside info from close connects through VT and north Florida recruiting. I love all things Hokie. I DONT love all things English. I work in a profession that I don't need to be grammatically correct on a daily basis so forgive me if I don't remember what miss jones taught me in the 9th grade.
what the intention of the post was and maybe you missed it, or chose to ignore it because youd rather worry about where a period is or isn't, or if I used youre, your, yur, or whatever else you want, was to try and get some more coverage, hype, love, and support for our hoops team. if you aren't on board with that then read the next post and move on.
on a side note I appreciate all the TKP members and what they bring to the table, I especially appreciate the staff that provide the insight, reviews, sometimes fun, and everything hokie sports. wasn't trying to insinuate that they weren't doing enough or anything of that nature.

I think it's a great post idea. To answer your question, yes, I'm always pro-grammar. Bad grammar or insane run on sentences make one come across as less well educated and less convincing in their statements. It can sound like I'm talking to a West Virginia fan when I'm reading it. To me, it's off- putting. Some people care about it on a message board, some don't but making it a bad habit here may affect writing in other areas of one's life. Of course this is all just my opinion and how I see it, others may think differently. Just a pet peeve of mine coming from journalism background and by no means am I giving you a hard time as I see the positivity in your post.

I agree with you about grammar in general. I also have a bad habit of run on sentences and problems with too many commas, but it's the product of my ungoverned brain. I don't have a problem with dialect, or stylistic writing and am fairly tolerant of laziness. It's the more egregious "West Virginia fan" stuff that raises my hackles. I hear it on TV commentary as well as see it here, and it never fails to be the fingernails on the chalkboard thing for me. The "we should've went" and "He could've ran" and the like. Still, I guess if you get what the person was saying, it's not worth hassling over the delivery. But yet...I do.
Far, far, far, far, far (am I doing these commas right?) worse is seeing "would've" and "could've" written out as "would of" and "could of" 😫😩😱🤯🤮

I am not sure if it has every been discussed but at the very least I think that ltrepeter2000's game threads should be on the main page similar to what is done for the football open threads.
I've said before that I'm willing to bring back Mascot Mock - maybe it could find its niche in basketball.

I like the idea of a Hatin On for basketball. I think the coverage is solid already, but a Hatin On would just be fun. Especially during ACC play

TKP hoops staff is planning to beef up coverage as we head into ACC play - we all just needed a bit of a breather after football season, and the SC Upstate's and NC A&T's of the world seemed like good timing. We've been having conversations about how best to address games to keep things fresh and interesting, rather than providing you all with essentially the same gamer you're going to find elsewhere on the Virginia Tech beat. Stay tuned, ACC play is right around the corner.
IMHO, clear and succinct updates on Clarke and Nolley with on-record quotes from people in the inner circle would be the best way to create an absolute advantage.

There's a LOT of money in being a great basketball school. And a LOT less overhead. For those worried about the long term viability of the athletic department this is a godsend.
