Welp, Mock Draft season has officially arrived. SI/MMQB has already come out with their second mock for the 2019 NFL Draft...

...and I'm sure other publications are not far behind.
I don't see a lot of Virginia Tech interest at the top end of the 2019 NFL Draft (note: no Hokies were taken in either of the above mocks), but some team mocks are drilling down farther into the draft based on their own perceived needs, and we're starting to see some Hokies coming off the (mock) boards:
ATL 2019 Mock
Round 5, 139th overall - Trevon Hill, DE, Virginia Tech
The theme of adding more punch to the defensive line continues. Hill had a sour end to his Virginia Tech career with his dismissal back in September, but don't let that distract you from his ability to get after the quarterback as a weakside defensive end. Hill shows plenty of bend around the edge and his speed is enough to keep offenses on their toes when he's lined up on third down. Hill's burst at the snap is dangerous, and his addition to the Falcons roster along with Jackson adds length and quickness that the Falcons desperately need.
So, well, there it is. Any other Hokies going in mock drafts? Let us know in the comments below.

I think if Ricky Walker avoids disappointing testing he will get drafted in the later rounds.
Way too early in the process to think about who will go where -- we don't even know a draft order yet. But I think Hill and Walker could be taken in the middle-late rounds as long as they test well physically.

Daniel Jones declared for the draft.
Smart move on his part given what the next class is shaping up to be. Even if he does need another year of development he'll still be drafted way higher and get a better first contract this year.
Today was the day of reckoning in the NFL. Some of those teams mayyy be looking for a QB (Miami, Denver, maybe Tampa). Not a bad time to be in a (slightly) less than stellar QB class. Good for him.
Or Jacksonville or Washington, and there are a couple of teams like New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and the Giants that could be drafting potential successors.
Falcons 7-round mock
Interesting pick in the fifth...
Would love to see 8 wearing the red and black!
