The last relevent coach at UVA has passed away today. Growing up I always asked my dad why he waited to pick his nose every time the camera was on him.
Article from the Richmond times
I know we pick but he did have some good teams at UVA back in the day.

I saw this. RIP. He was a 'Hoo, so I still hate him, but he had throwing a ball cap to the ground down to an art form.
Got to meet Terry Holland and George Welsh having lunch one day, after both had retired. Was a ho-hum experience for me, but for the luluva winos, they were in awe.
RIP George. I know the Jets seasons lately have done you in. Go coach that super team wherever you may be!
Welch was a class act and one hell of a coach.
Hated playing against him. Respected him very much.
Was a decent guy and a good coach. Was definitely "old school". Nobody scowled better than him.
RIP
He was a good man, RIPπ
RIP. He seemed like a good man.
A good man, and a great role model.
I've always respected Coach Welsh. He served his country selflessly and was a great leader for UVA for many years. There was nothing quite like the Welsh-Beamer rivalry years of UVA-VT. Rest in Peace, sir.
