FAM Thread: Buzzketball Makes Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice

Buzzketball deserves some postgame FAM love!

Justin Robinson with a career-high 35 points coupled with 8 assists. Ahmed Hill looking like Deron Washington out there with some highlight reel throw downs. The whole team showing fortitude by storming back when facing adversity to start the 2nd half. A sold out Cassell Colosseum absolutely rocking to the beat of a 22-point blowout in primetime on ESPN. What a great team win against a very good ACC team that we've struggled mightily against over the years.

Let's all celebrate this and give these guys some love. Even though it's small in the grand scheme of things, we could all use a little morale boost across Hokie Nation.

GO HOKIES!

Jim Boeheim every time 5 touches it. FAM.

Fire Whit.

JRob played pissed off from the UNC performance. Would LOVE to see a repeat vs UVA.

FAM

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

I loved seeing Buzz come over and push him in the chest to fire him up after that first TO. My guess is that he probably had a heart-to-heart with him after the UNC game about being a leader vocally and in how he played. Boy did it show.

5 setting records, FAM!

FAM y'all

We must torched the "vaunted" 2-3 zone to the tune of 47% from three, FAM. Shooters shoot

VB born, class of '14

Despite attempts from 'Cuse & the refs, managed pull it off. SUCK IT REFS!!!

This team beat Duke??? Wow! Welcome to the ACC regular season!!!

They also lost in the Dome to Georgia Tech

I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them!

That was a defensive clinic. VT showing how its done.

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

J-Rob with one hell of a slump busting performance tonight. Here's to hoping its the start of a James Harden-esque streak!

I loved every second of it!! After Monday night at UNCheat and the week that was in footbal news, we need this beat down tonight!!
Now, Beat Miami!!

I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them!

Hopefully NAW is next in line for a bust out game! We need 1 or 2 folks "go-to's" to step up regularly and take over at "winning time" or it will be a quick post-season.

Games like tonight and about twenty pounds of muscle are why i think naw should come back next year.

His no look passing was on point though.

He's good as gone at this point. We should be happy. Helps us down the road with recruiting when you have early entries.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

I thought he played a very good game.
I saw #4 flash to the middle of the zone, catch bounce passes, patiently wait for the double team and then kick out to someone (often #5) to score. I thought this was a very good game and showed that he can do a lot on the offensive end (especially by not taking away shots from a hot shooter).

FAM, let's talk about Ty Outlaw having the defensive game of his life though...

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Outlaw was a beast

Playing Syracuse off the court is always a sight to behold LETS GO FAM

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

We beat them to a pulp!

Winning on the road in the ACC is hard, winning at home is mandatory, good showing tonight.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

That wasn't just winning at home, that was thrashing a good team at home.

We did play lights out, there was no pulp left! It was as if we pureed.

FAM

This was a fun game to watch, Hill with some electric dunks, JRob going 9-13 on 3s and dishing dimes, Outlaw playing D. Great win!

1-0 every week

FAM!!!

For anybody else who saw Buzz's usual postgame chat with Burnop & Laaser, did you notice how emotional he was?

I know that Buzz is an emotional guy and got the feels when they mentioned 5's career night and records along with Hill's grit, but it seemed like he was more emotional than normal. He probably hasn't slept since Monday night which may have had something to do with it, but man he was choked up big time.

Buzz genuinely LOVES his guys more than any coach I've seen. Its his best quality as a coach/person

Two big takeaways from last night.

1. It was nice to be the team that made everything for once rather than being on the receiving end.

2. Ahmed Hill has definitely figured it out. While his shooting has gone down since non-conference, he's still making enough 3s to make a difference, and he's scoring in plenty of other ways. He still has his days, but on the whole, he has definitely been my favorite story of the season thus far.

1. Love Ahmed when he's taking it to the rim.

2. That Purdue win got a nice boost today.

Let's Go...

I'd like to second 2. I've been hard on Med in the past, but for the most part he's kicked it up a notch this year. Also, this may be sacrilegious, but watching him dunk reminds me of Deron. Same number and everything.

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Funny you bring up Deron. I just skimmed through the 2007-08 Duke game at Cassell when he was the center of attention. He was blocking shots, starting shit with anyone who wanted it, flopping, etc. Probably the most entertaining player I've ever watched in a Tech jersey all things considered.

NAW 0-5 from field, 4 points, win by 22. Excellent

All of Justin Robinson's recorded FGA were from three-point range. He made 9-13, setting a single-game school record in the process. Let the Hokies in the assembly say "Fam".
