Sorta OT: Fmr. VTBB asst. Isaac Chew resigns from TAMU Basketball, allegedly pulled a Galen Scott

With the Texas A&M Aggies men's basketball team sitting at 7-10 overall and 1-5 in SEC play, nobody is under the illusion that the season is going well. But we got another bit of bad news last night as assistant basketball coach Isaac Chew tendered his resignation.

Based on the statements, it seems this departure is more for personal reasons than it is for anything related to the team's performance.

A series of tweets from Honesty48998331 appears to allegedly out Chew...Buzz may have figured this out a few years ago and asked Chew to leave VT instead of him firing him publicly.

Ouch.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

From the looks of it, I doubt Kennedy is there much longer.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

FWIW, Buzz would be close to the top of A&M's wish list.

And leave the number one basketball conference?

I certainly hope not.

Especially being in the best conference helps come March because your not likely to see Duke, unc, or uva early in the tourney.

"GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM LITTLE BROTHER, THE CUP IS COMIN’ ON HOME!”

Every year, there seems to be one school that Buzz is a prime contender for. He was rumored to have significant interest in all three of these:

Last year, it was Ohio St but they ended up with Butlers Holttman. They had the money to get Buzz, but Holttman ($7.1m) is an excellent coach in his own right.

The year before, it was Okie St but they went cheap ($1.1m) with Boynton after Underwood bailed (baled?).

The year before that, it was TCU but they went with an alum in Dixon.

So aTm makes a bunch of sense this year for Buzz, but someone else may make more sense or they made hold their cash for Jimbo or an alum may be the preference. And done if the Buzz Buzz was about Chew and Reynolds already being there.

It certainly won't be a question of money. Texas A&M has money to blow.

So does Okie St and they went super cheap with Boynton. And I think they even had Underwood buyout money coming their way. Not sure what was left on Fords contract

Does Shaka survive another year at Texas? That is the job I'd be most worried about. I think Texas Tech coach Chris Beard would be a candidate too (alumnus).

Chew is on the bench tonight. When is his resignation effective?

Man! That's a tough situation to Chew oneself out of....
