Rivals Got Catfished - The Story of Blake Carringe

That was really something. Good job, good effort, Rivals. Purport a 'Bama offer, get ranked.

why does everyone on TKP love to throw shade at Rivals? 247 did the SAME thing.

Pour some Beer on it

Technically 247 didn't rate him, he only received a composite rating because Rivals rated him

Except they didn't

Unless I'm missing something, I wouldn't call sharing a humorous article throwing shade. I don't have a dog in the fight, but calling a spade a spade, this a bad look for Rivals. Would've laughed equally as hard if 247 did it.

I feel like a 5.5 on Rivals is essentially their starting point for a new recruit that P5 schools are offering. So while it's funny, I don't think it is wildly insane. Also the narrative is that Rivals rates kids higher based on their offers. To rate a kid a 5.5 with a Bama and UGA offer does not fit that narrative

I always liked Rivals as it was the original and what I always used before 247 was founded. Lucky left Rivals and built 247 after waiting a couple of years and is really hurting Rivals.

Ranking a kid without tape is dumb but getting upset sites put value in Bama offers is even dumber. Bama has way more resources and incentive to get evaluations correct than any recruiting site does.

Who is getting upset? Bama hands out "offers" as an invitation to camp.

People complain about the Bama bump all the time. You can replace offer with commit and it's still the same. People complain that Bama gets preferential ratings

Oh OK, it was just presumptiveness to address people complaining.

And an offer/invitation to camp is not the same as a commitment.
