Well this is awful.
Unrelated note but the query string on the back of that twitter story URL is really inflating their twitter impressions - "&twitter_impressions=true" times 40
Wow, very tragic. I could not imagine dealing with something like that. I hope this is just a freak accident
Why was a person walking down an Interstate Highway?
Their car crashed, they got out of their car.
Tip: if you're ever involved in an accident where your vehicle has remained in the roadway, stay in it unless there is an immediate threat of danger (fire). You're vehicle is much more durable than your body.
Reading this headline went from 'What's the new scandal?' to 'Holy shit' real fast.
Got some information from a Firefighter that was on the scene. The individual that was killed was very far out in the road when hit.
Take it for what it's worth. Not a reporter, but someone in circles who might know.
Very unfortunate for all parties involved.
I remember in high school I had a friend that was driving back along I-495 near WIlmington, DE late at night and a guy just up and ran across a 4 lane highway. He ended up hitting and killing him. Obviously not his fault, but really messed up a lot of things for my friend as well mentally.
Tragic accident for all involved - driving in the dark on a night with some icy weather :(
That sucks, for all involved.
Unfortunately I can relate all too well. This near-exact situation happened to me three years ago on the highway, and it was scarring. Took months to feel like I recovered but even now still think about it often, especially when driving at night.
Really hope Coach Boeheim is doing alright and sticking with his family for support.
