J'wan Evans (East Rockingham, Va) running back (2019) has committed to the good guys. A walk-on I assume, he is good.

Very Solid player, kind of a big deal to be a walk-on. I think he had an offer to ODU

Wagon's full and Momma I'm coming home.

Yeah, I saw the kid play a few times. Solid player, but I don't think he was the best player in the area. Will be interesting to see how/if he fits in anywhere on offense.

It's not that he's a highly touted recruit, it's that we allegedly wanted him and we don't have very many other recruits lined up that really bothers me

Recruit Prosim

If we land Coit he will fill that slot need we were looking at LJ for, despite being listed as a CB by some.

Well, maybe #rudeboyz is more appealing than #loyalty. I'm not worried about it. If UNC with a 67-year-old head coach and the hashtag rudeboyz is what appeals to this young man he may not fit into the culture VT is trying to build.

I'm not sure that Coit isn't higher on the board right now but we would have definitely accepted his commitment. More of a perception loss than talent loss IMO. James is very well respected in the 757 and is a very popular kid. He, Powell, and Lambert are all very close. Not to mention the fact the we were again considered the pretty heavy favorite.

I do still think Coit is a much more talented player though.

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

He is going to miss that Wisconsin Oline.

He melts down under pressure and struggles to consistently make reads. Hes also a southpaw which takes some adjusting to. Hes also one of the furthest things from a read option qb I've ever seen which is what willy taggart wants to run. It just doesnt make sense and doesnt fit

So what you're saying is, he has Grant Noel levels of athleticism.

A Wisconsin alum I know laughed at this and basically had the same sentiment. He thinks poorly of hornibrook...actually was excited when the freshman started in his place last year. Wonder how he will handle that savage simplicity of willie taggart...

I mentioned to my friend that hornibrook has Alex van pelt syndrome and he agreed it was appropriate. Alex van pelt was a QB for Pitt in the 90s that was all-world as a freshman and got steadily worse as he got older. For those that don't know...

AVP actually played in the NFL...as a QB...but yeah, same idea

Didn't Nathan Peterman go to Pitt too?

J. Crew...

I've tried to look at this move 100 different ways. The only reason it makes any sense is that Hornibrook is interested in coaching and wants to learn another offensive scheme (and is willing to die for the experience). FSU gets a warm body to get absolutely torched behind an awful o line. Hornibrook gets experience in Tagart's lethally simple spread veer offense....as a Pro style QB.

(add if applicable) /s

Maybe Taggart is bringing Hornibrook in because Taggart needs help with coaching the offense?

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

Desperation on both sides, that's how you have to look at it.

A lot of 2020 North Carolina guys trending towards UNC right now. I would expect them to clean up in State in 2020. VT would be very wise to focus on select guys in NC for 2020 and start working on 2021 in North Carolina, that's going to be an above average year and a great shot at getting talent to cross the state line.

Word is they are close to landing 2021 5* DT Payton Page as well.

Everyone who is underestimating what Mac can do at UNC is going to be severely disappointed. We are going to feel this.

Is it basketball season yet?

Just like Fuente and Frank felt all those better ranked classes UNC brought in a lot of years compared to Hokies. This is pretty par for the course of UNC and isn't a great shift in their recruiting.

I think what people need to understand about 2020 is a couple of things:

1. UNC is going to get the new coach bump, regardless of who it is.

2. This is especially true because UNC specifically hired Mac to win NC recruiting over NC State

3. NC State did really well in-state recruiting last year in positions of strength in the 2020 NC recruiting class.

4. Which means that UNC can sell early playing time and NC State and VT cannot sell as well, which gets UNC an easier path to landing recruits.

So, One year is not a trend. It's all going to come down to what UNC does on the field this year. If they start 0-3 or 0-4, will they hold on to early commits? Who knows. So, while I won't underestimate Mac, I don't see 2020 as the start of an upward trend. Now, if they kill it in 2021, then I'd be worried.

I'm still waiting for the newish coach bump in recruiting.....hell, I thought we could have something close to what UVA had those couple of years when London got numerous high 4* and a few 5 *.

Pour some Beer on it

DING DING DING

It always bothered me that Iowa State and UMD could manage a new coach recruiting bump, but we couldn't.

Yea because they weren't replacing a legendary HOF coach that had literally built the programs national perception and had been the face of it for almost 30 years. It's a completely different situation. When you replace a guy that is worshipped at a school there is more of a "Don't F this up" feeling than a "Hell ya, something new" feeling that would create excitement and recruiting buzz.

15 Straight

I'm gonna just leave recruiting team rankings from 2014-2019 below

UMD: 41, 47, 41, 18, 28, 46
ISU: 59, 64, 55, 52, 55, 48
VT: 28, 29, 42, 26, 24, 26

1. What ISU recruiting bump???
2. UMD has the most noticable bump but we'll see with Locksley if Durkin was a flash in the pan or not
3. Note the drop off of Locksley's transition class vs. Fuente's transition class. Very similar drop off in very different situations, but one is considered an ACE recruiter while many of us have convinced ourselves the other can't recruit....
4. Fuente has at best given us a slight bump from the latter Beamer years but overall is right on or right above our historical average.

The sky is not falling, but Fuente is hitting about the same level of recruiting with pretty similar recruiting infrastructure to Beamer. Recruiting support staff is where we need to improve to take the next step.

UMD has historically recruited in the 20-30 range so their rankings in the 40s are more of a product of Edsall's tenure being a dumpster fire. I fully expect Locksley to get them in the 15-25 range; however, I would be shocked if they somehow broke the top 10.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Good thing we know when kids these days are 800% committed they mean it, right? Keep recruiting these kids hard. If anyone should understand how quickly a kid can change their mind, it should be a tech fan.

2020 is going to be VERY bad for Tech recruiting wise. We absolutely need a good season on the field to carry us through and hopefully start an upswing in 2021. This seasons frail schedule is actually the biggest blessing in disguise I think I've ever seen.

Recruit Prosim

It is certainly not off to a great start when compared to previous classes. The level of commitments might be around the same, but the recruits that we are receiving interest from and getting on campus is way lower than it was in 2019 and 2018. Not all is lost, but we certainly have a ways to go to match the results of recent years.

Recruit Prosim

Personally haven't heard anything but I know the 247 guys are confident. Visiting soon.

Meanwhile, while you guys worry about UNC, NC State is up in Woodbridge stealing RJ Adams

I feel obligated to post this when I see the debate about whether UNC recruiting success really matters:

elite players have realized that grouping has real benefits. You see it at every level of sports now, all the way down to scholastic sports and youth all-star travel teams. You're going to get better in practices, not games, and when the guy across from you is NFL bound, you're getting better. When you're surrounded by elite play makers, it's that much harder for opponents to double you or scheme away from you. And depth at position groups means you're insulated from being pushed back on the field before you're really ready or being asked to do things before you're really prepared. Sure, it's more of a challenge, but that's kind of the point. There is no path of least resistance to the NFL unless you're a 1 in a million freak like Ed Oliver who came out of high school pretty much ready for the NFL. His two college career highlights were terrorizing Baker Mayfield in his first game and then getting into a Starter Jacket argument with Applewhite late last fall. He will be a first round pick, but he's not going to be the #1 pick, which I think he could have been. That looks like Bosa, fellow 5 star, Ohio State. He could end up behind Quinnen Williams (borderline 4 star, Alabama), Rashan Gary (5-star, Michigan), Clelin Ferrell (borderine 4, Clemson), or Christian Wilkins (mid-4, Clemson). If so, he may have lost multiple millions by choosing Houston over a blue blood program.

Recruiting unfortunately is a zero sum game and you can't really compare recruiting and success in the modern game to recruiting and success back in the 90s or aughts - not in any straight forward way - using player ratings or class rankings. Too many things have changed.

Back to something interesting.

Years ago, some alumni were trying to open a Hooters in Blacksburg and were not successful due to the city wanting local small businesses. Just think how much money could have been made for both wait staff and city taxes. The buffalo Wild wings location in the burg was alwasy trash, terrible service.

Pour some Beer on it

One summer we went to BW3 when it was absolutely vacant, I think even summer classes weren't in session. The three of us were the only ones there. One of the waitresses was determined to make it a breastraunt. Her skirt was so short that every time she bent over her ass popped out (was wearing a thong). She kept cleaning the tables around us so she kept bending over with he butt in our direction. One of my friends who was going crazy over her ass left a huge tip ( cash).

I guess the moral of this story is breastraunt will find a way.

Ew.

Virginia Tech will have some of its more important targets on campus at the end of the month. Jalen Coit, Quentin Williams, Kobe Baynes, Kaelon Black, and Kyjuan Herndon all informed TKP of a spring Virginia Tech visit.

I haven't done a ton of research on these guys yet, but for the "more important targets" there really aren't any highly rated guys on that list.

It will be interesting to see how they evolve/grow during their senior seasons.

Is it basketball season yet?

Some or most of those guys are probably in for some decent sized bumps, not necessarily to 4*'s but definitely possible for a few of them. We aren't in hot on a lot of blue chippers right now, hopefully that changes by ESD.

I tell you what, we can recruit some serious long snappers. Wonder if we can convert any of them to defensive linemen.

I find it funny how long snapping has become such a specialty in the age of the shotgun QB, where nearly every snap is at least 5-7 yards deep. Might be better off just recruiting centers who can snap.

Geoff Collins is a decent recruiter and he values recruiting. For whatever reason, we're holding course instead of putting necessary resources into recruiting while everyone around us is.

I'm sure we're not far off from hearing "well it's Atlanta, how are we supposed to compete with that?"

Yet again, please feel free to tell us how you know we are holding back resources from recruiting and what they are? I get you don't like losing a recruit, but just throwing out accusations of lack of effort and use of resources is ignorant. Ohio State was the other front runner in this and GT still beat them out. Are you saying it was from their lack of focus on recruiting too?

15 Straight

Where did he say we were holding back resources?

Edit: I guess it's in how you read it. I read it as "every other school is making clear and obvious investments in this area and we are just holding course"

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

instead of putting necessary resources into recruiting while everyone around us is

That reads to me that he believes we aren't putting enough resources and effort into recruiting. It just follows up previous comments of people accusing the staff on not focusing enough on recruiting and a lack of effort, but with no specific examples. Losing a recruit doesn't mean the staff was lazy or we didn't focus enough on it, so if you're going to accuse them of that, then you need to back it up with how you actually know that.

15 Straight

That reads to me that he believes we aren't putting enough resources and effort into recruiting.

As a matter of fact, that is exactly what I believe, and I don't feel ashamed one bit to say it. Our recruiting support staff, budget, level of experienced hires, number of GAs, etc. are not on par with 'peer' programs and aren't close to that of a program who (hopefully) has conference championship aspirations.

Also this 'losing one recruit' shtick is so tired. We've lost multiple recruits who we were front runners for to lesser programs, and don't really lead for any 4* players this cycle. Also, I never said 'lazy,' so please keep your accusations factual, at least.

I'm pretty sure GA numbers are limited by NCAA rules.

Because two got hired away. You kinda have to wait till school is over in May/June to hire most GA's. Jesus man, I'm all with you on money spent on the program but stop reaching to make your point. (Also Whit can't spend money he doesn't have, and if you look around we don't have same money as most programs competing for top spots each year.)

15 Straight

They are. We have two right now but are in the process of hiring two more. One of the names (if the logisitics work out) is one that will be very familiar to VT fans.

I think what he's talking about is a lack of financial commitment towards a recruiting support staff, which he is correct about. Fuente has language in his extension that earmarks a chunk of money to go towards support staffers, but for whatever reason, we have yet to spend all of the allocated money. Really confusing and frustrating situation to be honest.

Fuente has language in his extension that earmarks a chunk of money to go towards support staffers, but for whatever reason, we have yet to spend all of the allocated money.

Just out of curiosity (vs challenging the fact, which I'm not), is this common knowledge/been remarked on publicly or is it coming from a source inside the department?

As you say, it brings up quite a few questions if the money is sitting there and not being invested in the program. There's no way Whit would let that happen for no good reason! right....?

LA has given us plenty of evidence over the years to trust that he has some access to inside information.

I believe it's public knowledge but honestly can't remember

Ok, thanks.

Just for the record, I wasn't trying to question your sources at all. I've been here long enough to know who's stuff ages well. My question was more that if the athletic administration is ok with talking about the lack of hires in the open they don't see it as a huge problem, whereas if it's a subject that's only being discussed behind closed doors it could be a bigger issue. I tried to be clear in my OP, but obviously a few people interpreted it differently. Hope you weren't one of them, and if so, apologies. Thanks for the steady stream of info!

No worries, I read the message as it was intended. If my memory serves me correctly, the piece of info was in a RTD or Roanoke Times article that was published around the time of fuente's extension

If you really want me to go back and pull up times you've mentioned "lack of effort" in recruiting then I can do it. Also yet again, I am not saying this coaching staff should be free of criticism, I just want it backed up when you say we aren't using the resources properly. I think the real issue is we don't have enough funding coming in to compete at a top 15 level in recruiting. I think realistically we fall in the 30-20 range with our lack of success since 2011 and the amount of money we bring in, so this coaching staff has been meeting my recruiting expectations in recent years. If you think we should be consistently in the top 15, then this conversation is pointless.

Also number of GA's has little to do with recruiting, but most of the other issues you seem to have is with the budget and lack of money.

15 Straight

Ohio State was the other front runner in this and GT still beat them out. Are you saying it was from their lack of focus on recruiting too?

If that was really your takeaway or how you'd like to legitimize the situation, that is fine, but very clearly was not the point.

My main point is the first half of the statement. Feel free to criticize the staff, but back it up.

I just wanted to add that I think it's a joke that you think our effort and focus on recruiting is what cost us a kid, when he also chose GT over Ohio State who is a recruiting machine.

15 Straight

If you don't think Ohio State is going to fill that spot with someone as high or highly rated, maybe you haven't been looking at their classes over the last few years. They're hot on a 5* and mulitiple 4s at CB. We are not.

That doesn't change the fact that they got outrecruited for a kid by Georgia Tech, but yea I've heard OSU has had some good recruiting classes recently. They're a real up and coming program.

15 Straight

I guess I don't understand your point. Stating "GT beat out OSU too for him" doesn't make this any better for VT or discount the fact that he's going to a division foe. You're actually making my point for me - GT's recruiting job here was impressive.

Losing players to Clemson, PSU, or OSU happens and will continue to happen. Yet we're now losing guys we need to NCST, GT, UNC, or MD with some regularity. You can just continue to say 'just one recruit,' and act like it's no big deal, but those programs are investing in recruiting, and I don't feel like we're doing what we need to to get the talent in the program to win the ACC given the current external forces.

I don't disagree with you. My point it obviously Georgia Tech did a hell of a job recruiting here. Ohio State has every resource you can ask for when it comes to recruiting and still got beat out. Just maybe sometimes when we don't get a recruit, it's not because of something we didn't do and it's just because that school is the best fit for the kid. My problem is when we lose a recruit, everyone is quick to question what the coaching staff didn't do, when that's really just not how recruiting works all the time.

Sidenote: I haven't say "just one recruit". And like I've said all along, I personally feel like where we are at as a program, we are hitting our goals in recruiting. Yes, other teams have taken some of our big targets, however with the success we've recently had and with the money coming into the program, I don't see us making vast improvements in recruiting. We just came off of a class where we signed 7 4 star guys and flipped one of Ohio States biggest lineman recruits. I think to say we aren't investing enough into recruiting just isn't accurate.

And two of the three were highly rated at a position of need. Between Fuente walling off access to the program and recruiting returns looking less promising this cycle, there's little juice around the football program. Tech's Sweet 16 run couldn't have come at a better time. It's been a pleasant distraction.

I'm desperate for any good football news, hows the grass coming in on Worhsam field this Spring?? /s

There is barely such a thing as a verbal commitment, so what is a silent commit worth?

"with all due respect, and remember I’m sayin’ it with all due respect, that idea ain’t worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin gettin’ it on" - Ricky Bobby

Nothing matters except signatures on LOIs. However, it's a data point in the positive direction (or at least was). Both North Carolina and Georgia Tech have new head coaches who have put a renewed emphasis on recruiting. And now they are landing targets at the Hokies' expense.

Nothing other than basically being told that you are that recruit's leader, which is better than not being told that. If you lose that recruit, it means that another school did enough to beat you to him, which is a bad thing obviously

Do you believe this is a symptom of a systematic issue where after a silent commit we have turned our focus elsewhere and allowed others to swoop in or a "high schoolers are fickle and the other schools are recruiting better than we are"?

Probably a little bit of both

Wow...tons of comments in the recruiting thread must be some big news...oh

[1] New commitments, decommitments, portal entries, etc... deserve their own thread. Please read the brief best-practice tips at the top of the recruiting forum.

If there's really big news, there will be a separate thread

That is great progress coming off a major injury but nothing in that video makes me think he won't redshirt.

What's with the little foot drag? I don't think I've ever seen that technique. Anybody in the know?

If you're not sure if my comment warrants a "/s", it probably does.

I've seen a lot of receivers do the foot drag, granted it's not nearly as pronounced at this one, but I think it's a tactic used to cause the defender to hesitate if just for a moment. If you watch any of Odell Beckham's training videos on Instagram he does this relentlessly; however, he doesn't do it like Tahj is doing here. Tahj breaks his smooth stride when he does it, it's more pronounced slight of "foot?" but when Odell does it, he does it in a manner that it makes the defender actually believe that he's getting ready to cut left, right, or curl.

I'm happy that the kid is seemingly motivated and working hard to overachieve. Speaking from experience, even when you are "healthy" injuries like what Taj had take your body down so low it takes a long time to get the athletic ability back. Additionally, it is easy to injury something else due to subconsciously compensating for stressed tendons, pain, lack of explosion etc.

If he proves me wrong - fantastic. I'm 100% in favor of a redshirt here to protect the kid from himself and the things above. He is at a position that has a tendency for the most severe injuries and he is young. Heal 100%, learn the system and be Better than his HS body due to college strength and nutrition or there is clearly a higher risk of his career ending before it begins.

I'm in the camp (especially coming straight from Hs) that you protect the kids health and play the long game.

Here is a list of current prospects that I think the staff should be held accountable for landing as they are very high priority and we are very much in the hunt. After already missing on a few of our targets these guys are now extremely high priority. The staff should be criticized for these misses if they happen.

Jalen Coit - WR
Antwuan Powell - DE
Quentin Williams - DE
Isaiah Raikes - DT
RJ Adams - OG
Andru Phillips - CB

Here is a list of prospects that I would feel like the staff went above and beyond to land and should be applauded for landing:

Tyler Baron - DL
Fadil Diggs - DE
Michael Carmody - OT
Blake Corum - RB
Keandre Lambert - WR*
Malcolm Greene - DB
De'Arre McDonald - CB

*It's embarrassing the position we sit with him to be frank. He recently listed 3-4 other schools that were recruiting him the hardest and we weren't one of them. He almost certainly will NOT be a take at Clemson which is where he would commit if he was allowed right now (I'd put money on that). After that it looks like we are behind UNC, PSU, etc. He recently got a UGA offer and I'm sure he would go there if he is a take as well. A&M is also seen to be in decent position last I saw. He is Kam Chancellor's cousin, and it seems like he wants to go anywhere but VT at the moment.

I'm going to probably re-post this in each future recruiting thread to keep track of how we are doing on these prospects.

Just because someone has had family go somewhere doesn't mean it gives you a leg up in my personal case it meant I didn't even apply to my parents college. In hindsight that was a mistake but I was 17 and thought I knew everything. Again lots of legitimate criticism to go around family connections I don't think are.

I think the Kam connection might actually be hurting us here

Yeah, I've wondered if that was the case after seeing a some chatter about that possibility. He might want to blaze his own path/avoid the Kam shadow. Regardless, it hurts that it feels like an "anywhere but VT" type situation right now.

It seems like it may be, although the above comment is funny to see, given how many times we've seen the exact opposite argument made when VT doesn't land a player, too.

"Well his parents went there, how can we compete with that?" "His cousin went there, we were never going to land him" "His HS/7on7 coach is there. You can't blame him for not coming here" etc.

Because like all things when dealing with individuals different things are important. I know lots of kids their only goal was to go to the same school as their parent, they then left school and went to work for their parents.

That could very well be the case, but you're not in the room with these kids or their families. You repeatedly use this line of justification regardless of the situation and kid - 99.99% of which you're not tuned into at all, whenever we miss on a much needed target

I'm with outoftowner on this one. This screams of VT isn't winning enough so I'm gonna use the "old blaze my own trail" statement. Can't really argue with it but I bet if Kam was a Clemson, Bama or ND alum he would be "finishing what Kam started"....

Winning or losing in a season rarely factors in for most kids. Now long term winning and losing certainly does. But Tech hasn't been down that long.

Tech hasn't won the ACC in 9 seasons, and hasn't played in a major bowl since 2012. Rising high school seniors were 8-9 years old when that happened. I'd say it's starting to be a pretty good while since VT was truly nationally relevant. It may not seem like it to us who have been alive longer and following football since we can remember. But for a 17 year old that probably feels like a lifetime ago.

If winning the conference was the measuring stick that's a really short list across all of football.

Not necessarily the measuring stick, but if you're winning a P5 conference with some regularity, you're generally in the national conversation most of the time. It's just been forever since VT was a national power when you look at it through the eyes of a 17 year old. Nine years ago is over half of their life to this point, and a lot of kids that young generally aren't as attentive to the national profile and legacy of a college football program. They've spent a good chunk of their childhood and adolescence watching Tech be mediocre and now it's worst season in 30 years.

We don't have the brand or location advantage of a Miami or USC to get top recruits regardless if we have been down a long time or not. Since our program has decided we are going to be more player development/coach 'em up vs recruiting oriented, we have to build it and hope they come. We have to be winning and convincing people that we are for real. I'm worried this program is going to end up like Nebraska with its glory days behind it if we can't get things turned around quickly.

If recruiting is as easy as some people on this board think it is, then we need to hire them with all the recruiting money we aren't using. It's like we forget how the mind of a 17 year old works.

I appreciate you putting this together and think you are spot on with the levels of assumptions. The scary part is that if Raikes is the highest rated DT we can land, we are going to be in trouble come 2021 when Hewitt, Crawford, and Cunningham graduate. It looks like Powell may be the only future 4 star from that first group besides maybe Hoit and Jalin Hyatt.

Lambert would be a miss but we are loaded at WR I wouldn't be too concerned with a miss there. In my opinion we HAVE to land Corum at RB, even if Keshawn King turns out to be a stud.

We have players that can help us compete for an ACC Championship at the QB, WR, TE, OG, OT positions on offense with needs at just RB. On defense, I feel comfortable with the roster makeup at LB and maybe S depending on how Conner and Walker develop. I think we have definite needs at DT, DE, and CB. Of that list, I really hope we can convince Greene to come fill the Nickel/Safety role and McDonald to be a lockdown corner. LAHokie has mentioned the long shot we are for Baron and Diggs so I am hopeful for a change of heart but looking at other potential prospects that we could get.

DE, DT, and CB are certainly critical needs, and unfortunately for us, are probably the most important defensive positions in college football. A good pass rush/run stuffing DL and lockdown corners will make even lackluster LB's and S's look good. Conversely, a good LB corps and S's aren't always enough to make up the ground if your DL can't get pressure or hold up the LOS properly and your corners can't cover. That said, I am in the camp that Farley was actually quite good in coverage last year and I still expect him to have a bright career for us.

I am not worried about Hyatt getting his 4th star or not. I think he should, but I watched him play against my old HS in the 5A SC State Championship game last year and I am excited about him coming to VT whether he gets the rankings love or not.

I'm hoping we can find a late-riser at DT this cycle. Powell and Quentin Williams would make me very happy at DE.

Man that's depressing

Former OSU DT/DE on the market!

I know we are hurting but this guy has had a lot of injuries. He has only played 2 games.

You better be damn sure that his injuries are behind him if you're willing to let him occupy a scholarship for the next 3 years

Beggars can't be choosers at this point, probably worth a roll of the dice. Who has an injury crystal ball?

He tore both AcL's and medically retired, but has now decided to transfer. I would call this a greater than average risk, but maybe he'll be an inspirational story one day. Who knows?

Agreed. I like to gamble but two blown ACLs for a DL is too much for me to bet on.

Anyone else read "class of 2020" and think "dammit, we've sunk to offering middle schoolers?"

Even more funny because of the odds he's named or nicknamed after Tee Martin. I hope we land him.

He's 6'2" - that's 'pro' level height, a la Adrian Peterson.

This would be huge - especially in UT's backyard.

Antwaun Powell just got bumped to 4 * 3rd best in VA and #116 overall and #6 WDE.

I mentioned in a comment how he would be bumped to a 4 star soon but I think just reiterates the NEED it is to get him on board. Hopefully with his visit this weekend we can lock it up and get him recruiting other 4 stars b/c we don't seem to lead for many others at the moment.

Make it so!

Richmond (VA) Life Christian Academy cornerback Joseph Johnson‍ Commits to NC State. Believe he held a VT offer as well as Virginia and some others.

Really liked this kid, length (6-2) with the ability to play CB.
