Yeah I haven't looked at the full list but I can't imagine anyone beating out Stephen A Smith, I hate that guy.
Edit: Just finished going through the whole list Stephen A Smith by a mile.
Skip Bayless is much worse
Skip is easier to ignore. He's pretty much confined to whatever corner FS1 has put him in. I don't think I've seen him outside of promos for his show recently.
ESPN is pimping Stephen A all over the place, giving him extra opportunities to put his foot in his mouth. I don't listen to ESPN Radio anymore because they put him in the slot that I would listen to when I drive to work. Plus, since he never turns down the opportunity to showcase himself as an uninformed jackass, I see all of the stories about the latest stupid thing he said.
TLDR, Stephen A says things so stupid that they write stories specifically about that.
Exactly Stephen A is on at least two different shows (that happen to be on during my lunch hour) and is reguarly a guest on sportscenter. He is one of the main reasons I've completely stopped watching any ESPN.
Dan Le Batard
and it isn't even close.
"You dont get the show"
IMO I think the father and how the show is constructed is more annoying than Dan
Yeah it's not for everyone. Once Cowherd left ESPN for FS1 (big time mistake for his brand, but good for his bank account) it took me a long while to get used to Dan, as his show took the time slot and has highest ratings for ESPN Radio. I used to get angry at him all the time, but now I "get it" and think the show is funny & Clever. They are really just trying to be different from all the other boring sports radio shows and put a spin on it.
That 1st bracket is strong. Smith, Herby, Walton, Vitale,
Bill Walton is God's Gift to Color Commentating!!
Solid #1 seeds. Guaranteed no 16 beats a 1.
If Nick wright wasnt matched with Jim Rome I'd say Nick could be the upset but Rome is un fucking bearable
I never knew Stephen A Smith went to UVa...but it kind of makes sense
Cowherd
I don't know. The rant he had about UVA kind of gives him a pass in my book

That was like 15 years ago. All credit earned on that has been lost on the constant all day every day knob slobbing he does for Brady and Lebron.
It's just as relevant now as it was then. And while my exposure to sports radio talk the last three years have been practically nothing, Smith still has a tendency to be so annoying that I hear about him outside of the country so he's easily #1
What he said is still relevant, but I'm just saying all the cred he got from with it has long since faded.
Funny you picked 15 years...........
And his unhealthy hatred for Cam Newton and Russell Westbrook...i guess he wanted to be the clean sports version of Howard Stern.
I'd have to go chalk in this one, final four would be all 1 seeds.
I've got Clay Travis upsetting Jim Rome
Mark May can make a run at this one though.
Stugotz is a national treasure. He didn't deserve to be apart of this bracket.
I agree and he has the balls to use Stugotz as his name. Pure Eye-Talian.
I agree and he has the balls to use Stugotz as his name. Pure Eye-Talian.
Mel Kiper Jr. is an 8 seed and Erin Andrews is a 5 seed?
Just because the guy can pick 1 seeds doesn't mean this bracketology doesn't suck.
This is exactly what I thought. This isnt the only oddity, but yeah wtf.
I agree
I have a great dislike for Dick Vitale. Saddened to see him as a 2 seed.
But he ain't played nobody Pawl!!!!
Give me PAWL, Skip, Kiper, and Cowherd in the final four.
Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless are 1A and 1B to me. Nobody else really comes close. Thought Max Kellerman is making strides after taking over for Skip Bayless on First Take.
Side note: A lot of those people on there I would never categorize as "annoying" like Kirk Herbstreit, but that's just me.
Side note #2: I know Mike Francesa (who is a 5 seed on this) is a radio icon in the radio world despite his horrible lack of sports knowledge and long periods of him just going "uhhhhhghhghhhhhhhhh ummmmmmmm errrrrrrrrrhhhh uhhhhghhhh" but if you ever needed a laugh, I would give the "Fun House" Twitter handle a follow/listen... (https://twitter.com/backaftathis?lang=en). It's basically a compilation of Mike's horrible takes and/or him being a hypocrite. It is absolutely hilarious.
I generally like Barstool Sports but Dave Portnoy at 4 is my dark horse to win. He can be funny but also he can be annoying as shit lol.
I've yet to find any example of Dave Portnoy being anything other than a petulant douche bag who acts like he's still a freshman in college.
I like how they made matchups of people on the same broadcasts. Golic vs. Wingo? Buck vs. Romo? Cowherd vs. Taylor?
I can't do a whole bracket because I actually like half these people. But my championship would be Skip Bayless vs. Jason Whitlock in a battle for the ages.
Not sure if you're getting your play-by-play guys mixed up, or your former Cowboy QBs.
I mixed up my channels. Good catch.
Rome vs. Smith, both need good curb stomppings
I find that annoying pbp or color guys are WAY more annoying than annoying talking heads. I don't watch talking head shows, so it's easy to ignore Stephen A. It's also easier to ignore Fox personalities than ESPN/ABC ones just based on the sports they have tv deals for and what my interests are. Hence Vitale and Buck in my championship.
I definitely get that, because you can't really get away from guys working the games, but you can't get away from Stephen A. either. He is everywhere and fucking terrible. He takes my bracket and wins in a land slide every time.
agree to disagree there. if you only ever tune in for games, you'll be fine.
Well I watch and listen to ESPN for more than just game broadcasts. Necessary evil for me because I do like a lot of their other content.
Tony Mercurio.
Hatin' on Mercurio is as pure to the 757 as hatin' on Bruce Rader.
Sorry but Pete Schrager as a 15 seed thats a Cinderella pick right there.
Nick wright is only a 16 seed? Talk about someone way to low as a seed hes an upset all day.
Alexi Lalas is a good upset pick as well the ignorance will get you a long way in that region.
Somewhere Michael Rappaport is bitching because hes not on this list yet he could easily be a 2 seed
I like how Urban Meyer is already on the list.
He did work for ESPN for a year and now Fox has hired him for their Saturday morning competition to Gameday. O and I also found out anOSU hires him as an associate AD.
I'm gonna have to go off the board and say Mama Giraffe
#BiggestTourneySnubInHistory
I don't mind Cowherd. I used to listen to him every day (8ish years ago). I've only listened to snippets since then.
I think 3 of the No. 1 seeds are locks. But am I the only one who actually kinda likes Jim Rome?
I admit I haven't watched/heard him in 20 years, but back in the late 90s I thought his radio show was actually pretty great.
Before the sports channel switched to a conservative radio talk show, I used to listen to Rome while driving. My problem with him was his repetition.
What did Samantha Ponder ever do to get on this list? Granted, I don't watch Gameday or whichever NFL she's on now.
Some think she's not qualified. They're wrong.
I dunno I'd say she passes the eye test atleast
You got to be certifiably nuts to leave Seth Greenberg out of this tournament
It is supposed to be the most annoying people. Greenberg has been good as a commentator.
Greenberg lives on the bubble?
He made the NIT
Only 64?
We're going to need a bigger bracket for my list.
This makes me so glad that I never watch sports media anymore, outside of VT game broadcasts.
Danny Kanell has the ability to be a #1 seed but will never be relevant enough. A few years ago Lou Holtz and Mark May coulda made a run too.
I voted for Mark May! You can too!
Tony Romo takes out Cowherd in a round of 32 stunner.
Why can't they take each other out?
NTTAWWT
Joe Buck is a 9 seed? Found our Cinderella.
And Bob Costas woulda been a 2 seed if NBC hadn't given him a postseason ban.
Tim Tebow is a sleeper.
Na, Kanell is much worse
I dont understand how he is a 9 and against Romo. It makes me wonder if they don't understand Romo and Witten are different people.
Still not sure why Cris Collinsworth is only an 11 seed? It seems like people hate him..I didnt like him for long time after that crap he pulled at the 96 olympics, but I dont mind him as much any more as long as you accept the fact he likes the sound of his own voice.
I dont mind Sarah Spain, but being up against Stugotz was too much. I think she is the only woman I voted for.
I don't mind Bill Simmons as long as he doesn't talk about Boston. But Rachel Nichols is far better.
"I don't mind Bill Simmons as long as he doesn't talk about Boston. "
So, not Bill Simmons.
Pretty much, but when he's not being Bill Simmons he's great.
Nobody has ever been as consistently wrong as Trevor Matich
Bill Walton commentating on the Pac 12 conference hoops games. Teetering between comical and annoying, but the more you hear his obtuse commentary the more annoying it gets. He was off the charts for the Maui Invitational early this season, not sure he was aware a game was going on, and had know clue what his partners name was. I thought it was a one time goof, but he's like that for every game he does. I thought he used to be pretty good on NBA games, years ago. Too many Grateful Dead concerts taking its toll.
Walton is a strict love/hate reaction type. Its always you either love him and think its hilarious or you hate him and change the channel. Really, more people just need to blaze one up at the start of the game and enjoy the ride he takes you on
He was awful during the Oregon game. Said just because you win your conference tournament doesn't mean you should get an invite. When he co host started talking about Buffalos head coach he said "why should I know who that is, who pays attention to Buffalo"
To be fair, no one really pays attention to buffalo.
They should. 6th seed, ranked in top 25 all year and now in top 15 and their coaches name has been thrown around a little.
The conference of champions!
Clay Travis and Darren Rovell in the second round is one hell of a match-up.
Keith Olbermann could go far in this tourney but he's in a tough bracket
Gary Danielson went far in my bracket, beating Collinsworth and Will Cain. (I don't have a problem with Will Cain specifically, but he sort of came out of nowhere as Ryen Russillo's show was winding down and sort of got caught up in the whole ESPN Radio programming shift. So it's more of a "who cares" feeling towards him.)
Broussard also went far, but not because I dislike him. I just really don't give a crap about the NBA, so he never has anything I want to hear about.
I don't know how anybody could vote for Charles Barkley. He is absolutely hilarious on the NBA on TNT show... whether it's Shaq joaning on him or the show doing skits to embarrass him, Charles is easy to laugh at.
Charles Barkley is the most refreshing voice in pop culture.
Berman
My Final Four is Bayless, Rovell, Mark May and Seth Davis.
Mark May beats Bayless for the worst of the worst, I f'ing hate Mark May.
seth Greenberg with the last 4 out shnub, ended up losing in the 2nd round of the NIT anyways.
1-10... Adam Schein.. the worst. Talks over callers constantly and would call Sean Savoy an "incredible, remarkable, unbelievable talent at WR" with a straight face.
Weird shots fired at Sean Savoy for some reason.
Woosh... Not about Savoy at all- you clearly don't know who Schein is.
Its a SHAM! They put Herbstriet and Walton in Smith's bracket! Got to spread that out. Walton as a 4 seed is way to low, should at least be a 2.
It's unfortunate that so many people dislike Chris Collinsworth. I love that guy.
How? Why? He adds nothing to the broadcast except noise. "RPO, this RPO that"
I disagree. He's a smart guy and I like his insight into the game. He brings a lot of good energy to the booth too. My opinion, I dunno.
I know people that despise Cris Collinsworth, but I think he's pretty good. I dont think he's as good as Romo, but he's better than Aikman, and this is coming from a former Cowboy fan.
As a Cub fan Joe Buck is grating and annoying anytime he opens his mouth!
Stephen A and Skip Bayless are close
Large gap
Dan Lebetard
Finebaum
Was I the only one who had a pretty serious disdain for Mike Greenberg? Back in the Mike and Mike days I really couldn't stand him. Not sure (and don't care) where he went to whine after they split them up.
Gotta say I'm kinda surprised Seth Greenberg didn't get a bid. On the other hand...
DAMMIT! [drink]
If Clay Travis and Bill Simmons don't make the final four, this tournament is invalid.
Also, a real shame that one of Gary Danielson and Cris Collinsworth has to win.
Also also, this tournament left out Brent Musberger and Dick Stockton. Yes, they're PBP guys, but neither one of them have been good at their jobs this century (though I guess it's possible Musberger retired, but even so)
It appears sports personalities are like uniform combinations; nobody agrees.
We can agree that they're all bad though.
"Skip Bayless must really be missing his old friend" - my guy Brad
I was just coming here to post this.
It looks like somebody has trained a turkey vulture to sabotage the clear favorite in the tournament.
Damn shame Stephen A. wasn't there to get smacked in the head by it.
Stephen A Smith's response makes me think he doesnt know the difference between a turkey vulture and a turkey
