Logan didn't play his best today but it a team effort

I am mad too, but we don't see all that goes in in Logan Thomas' world. Let's not boo him off the field like what happened to Glennon. I am not saying he is the best QB to ever play for Tech...but the players and the coaches are behind him and I think that means something.

This. 1000x this. Fans don't know the playcalls, don't know the gameplans, don't know the reads, don't know the defenses, etc. etc. etc. And clearly, lots of people don't see a darn thing past stats on ESPN.

It's a bottom line kinda thing. Whatever he is doing in the film room, practice field, locker room, whatever...isn't working on the field on gameday. Logan is a good guy and while I still believe he translates well in the NFL...it's worth looking at other guys. Eight turnovers in 2 weeks is EIGHT turnovers in 2 weeks and anyway u dice it, I refuse to believe that this gives us the best chance to win. #Sorry

Minority Report.

I'm glad to see that the locker room is holding together. That's a good sign.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Josh Stanford has made a huge statement there. He's shown himself to be the truth. I'll take him at his word here.

Stanford is rapidly running straight up the ladder of my favorite players.

"a lot of these errors are the fault of other people" LOL thanks for the laugh

So Logan was responsible for Meyer's drop and Knowles' deflection?

I'm not saying everything is his fault, but he is the QB, the most important player on the team. His play the past 2 games has contributed SIGNIFICANTLY to losing both games. I admire Stanford for sticking up for his QB, but let's be real here.

What Stanford is saying is that everyone watches the QB and blames the QB when they don't know the full amount of information that the coaches and team knows. Again, the team and coaches are behind him 100% which is saying something.

Look at it this way. Thomas is the team's leader. Take him away, everything collapses.

Please stop coming back to this one drop. One could argue LT threw it too hard. Fact of the matter is the blame is across the board, but please do not be blind that a nice size portion of this does fall in LT's lap. Bad games happen, but lets not mask a bad game.

He has to shoulder the load, we all know that, but sometimes that person fails. There were plays where he failed, period. Did it impact the game, yes. There were also plays where the D failed, did it impact the game, yes.

All in all, LT supporter or not he has struggled the past two games and does have the burden of shouldering some of the loss.

With that said, we ALL should hope that he, and the rest of the team AND coaching staff come with strong plans the rest of the year.

That's something when today's offensive MVP (arguably) can stand up for the QB like that.

Honestly, that says as much about Stanford as it does LT. I don't think I'd ever see statements like those from Marcus Davis.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Yeah. Marcus Davis wouldn't even block his QB from criticism.

Boom.

The sad thing for me that stanford said was this:

"The fans are quick to blame him."

The players know how the fans treat LT. If the players know this, the recruits know this.

It's much worse in the SEC trust me...oh and by the way, WINNING is the best recruiter.

Minority Report.

Exhibit A: Ole Miss.
Exhibit B: Tennessee.
Exhibit C: LOLUVA.
Exhibit D: Kentucky.

All teams that are usually worse than us. All teams whose current recruiting classes are ranked higher than ours.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Exhibit E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L: VT 2004-2011

10 win seasons and 4 ACC championships yield poor to moderate recruiting rankings.

winning 10 games in the ACC doesn't fool anyone into thinking ur the top team in the country. Not saying I'm a fan of the SEC but if you asked a kid if he'd rather play in the SEC or win the ACC I think u'll find out why those teams turn out better recruiting. UVA does not recruit better than us btw...fyi.

Minority Report.

Ha ha .. this is so funny Logan did not have his best effort today but he is not alone and this is a team effort .

Pluuueeeeeeese stop this line. I have heard this four four years. I have seen him blow game after game. Make inexplicable play after play. Yes it is a team effort. But if you have a QB who squanders all the hard work and effort of the team, and does it week after week, game after game, the team just loses intensity and its desire to win. Why should I try? LT is gonna screw it up anyway

Fuck you. You haven't been hearing this for four years. Tyrod was the starter in the 2010 season. Thomas was considered a god send through most of the 2011 season by most of the fan base.

I don't normally get as mad at someone as I am at you right now, but wow. Way to be an ignorant jerk.

I will say it right now: Thomas is terrible when he tries to play hero ball. He was terrible today. I even said when his arm was hurt we should have put Leal in.

But this? This post is concentrated vitriol. I'm staying of this board and probably the internet until next Saturday. Just... damn.

I don't normally support going after each other, but I spent half an hour after the game tweeting at people who were tweeting hate at Logan. This summed up my mood pretty well.

Don't feed the trolls!

What you just wrote is the exact opposite of how this team actually feels. How many times have we seen Logan completely put the team on his back and win it all by himself?

Well, if we're dealing with numbers, how many?

DFWTF...DON'T FUCK WITH THE FULLERS

In 2012, VT won 7 games. 2013, 6 games so far. In 13 games Logan has provided enough offense for VT win games.

It would be time-consuming to calculate, but I would imagine Logan accounts for over 80% of VT's offense in those wins. Hell, against GT this year, he accounted for over 100% of the offense.

Personal Opinion: Joe made a post game (loss) thread. Can't we all post our thoughts in one place? I love hearing your opinions post game, but I can't keep up with everyone's new threads. 10 post game threads is stupid. This is my personal opinion, but can we please consolidate things? (I will try and post this on all the other new threads)

I am all about consolidating threads, but at the moment there are 10 hate threads so I figured one support thread couldn't be all that bad...plus it is, in my opinion, worth starting a thread that most people will read about the fact that the players are sticking together when the fans clearly aren't.

Go read what I wrote on Joe's thread. I was pretty supportive

I wasn't getting on your for being unsupportive, I was saying that with 10 hate threads, it is worth having one thread that is the opposite. I try not to create threads that have already been created.

there are some threads popping up that are just beating a dead horse...perhaps on saturday 3 threads should be created: game day thread, love it thread, and hate it thread.

I can dig something like that. I value everyone's thoughts, but every opinion doesn't need a new post.

Yea I felt bad about starting a thread, but I had a lot to say and didn't want to make a super long comment. I also am not in the "hating/bench Logan" or in the "make every excuse in the world for Logan" groups so I decided to just post my own. Really just wanted to vent and see if people agreed with my take. That thread idea would work though. Say what you liked in the one and what you didn't like in the other.

β€œI ought to punch UVa people in the neck. Don’t ever come on my show and brag about your football.”

Here's hoping we see a pissed off and focused team next week. The season is FAR from over.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

As long as Logan is starting, I'll support him the best I can. I won't post anything about how bad he is or isn't, etc. We all know what he's capable of. We all know he works hard, and you know what...you don't hear about him having autograph snafu's, or even having other worse issues like other past players we've had (underage girls and cell phone cameras anyone?). Go Logan on every play he's in there as far as I'm concerned.

At the same time, I'd not complain if we were given a glimpse of what Leal could do if he got the chance.

I must say I got mad after the game, but I've let it go. Guys I'm sitting here and I'm reading some of these posts and I'm confused I'm not sure if some of our fans are for us or against us. I know we're ALL upset and mad that we've lost. But please please guys stop arguing and going after Logan. This doesn't help us. I've seen it for Glennon, Tyrod and now Logan. Yes Tyrod maybe called one of the greatest Hokies of all times, but we had fans do the same thing that we're are doing now for Logan. We tear down our own players too much when they don't produce or win. We have to accept the good with the bad, if we are calling ourselves true Hokies then let's support him. He's had another bad game. I get it. But he's trying to win the game for his school, teammates, and for us. I know I may be looked at as a extremist, but yes I am human just like everyone that's on here. We get mad when things don't go our way.

Let's take Logan out of the equation here for a second. I know being a QB and taking responsibility, leadership and of course performance are major parts of being a QB. But if he was our child how would we feel or look at some of the fans that are going after him and attacking him verbally? Yes, I get it he's a grown man playing under a full-scholarship and not being paid millions like Manning or Brady, but he's still somebody's child out there. I feel like sometimes we as fans can go too far or get carried away with the actual game itself. Please let's take a step back for a second that's all I ask!

Go Hokies we'll pick it up next week.

You know it's a million times worse in the $ec and nfl, right?

DFWTF...DON'T FUCK WITH THE FULLERS

I understand what your saying but in reality this isn't the SEC and this isn't the NFL.So why are we comparing ourselves or Logan to them? I guess I'm just a VT fan that believes that VT doesn't play second to none. I don't care how we've played or who we've lost to. That is just my opinion. I guess you can say that I signed up for this when i made VT my team when I was younger and it will never change win or lose.

My only thing is I don't think bashing LT is good. Meaning like saying he sucks or he's a bum or anything like that is uncalled for especially against a college kid. However, he is playing a sport and if he isn't playing well enough, or anyone for that matter, then there isn't anything wrong with discussing the possibility of making a change. I still support him and I am going to wish him the best in what ever he does because you should never wish ill of anyone. But if he doesn't compete at a level that is going to give the team the best shot to win the game then there shouldn't be issue with deciding to pull him.
