But with yesterday's loss... they were also eliminated from bowl eligibility.

This actually does make me feel better. At the end of the day, a bad season for us is what UVA strives for. I take solace in that fact
We just lost to duke and bc, it doesn't make me feel better because it doesn't fix our problems. It wil be tough to even beat uva
I'm with you. While it is cool that UVA lost and isn't bowl eligible, nothing can overtake a Hokie loss. NOTHING. And I agree, we have problems that we have to work on.

Some Tech fans - a very small but very vocal minority - just don't like being positive or optimistic about anything.
If anyone posts anything positive about the Tech football program and/or Coach Beamer, you can count on catching flak of some sort.
I bet the up-vote/down-vote system would work better on this board if you could see which posters gave you which votes. As it stands now, we have a number of anonymous snipers who just like to stir the pot.

Uva has a solid defense, and they can beat us

our defense will shut them down. And BC's defense is better than LOLUVA's and we managed 27 against them. I'm not worried about LOLUVA
Have you seen our offense? We managed 10 points against a Duke defense that isn't exactly elite, despite our own defense creating 4 TOs.
Do I see their offense racking up points against us? Probably not. They do have a decent running game with Kevin Parks though. It doesn't do any good to "worry" about them with a huge divisional game against Miami coming up and then Maryland at home, but it would be extremely foolish and a HUGE MISTAKE to dismiss the UVA game as an easy win.
Their defense just gave up over 600yds to Clemson. They aren't very good. But,..... Our Offense is too bad to take advantage of their defense.
If you honestly think UVA has a chance, then you haven't watched any of their games. It's like watching a mediocre high school team. Their defense is the best part of their team, but it still isn't that great (I know, I know, 'best third down defense'). It's a rivalry game so it will be closer than it should be, but I see it be just like the GT/UNC games that were close on the scoreboard, but we really dominated the game.
They still have that top-rated 3rd-down defense? Is that what you're referring to?
They probably do. But what they don't tell you is that their D is so weak that most teams never even have to worry about 3rd downs, as the chains have already moved.

Very possible. Beat duke and BC, two fairly poor teams and then a big matchup with most likely (now true) one loss Miami. No one to really look ahead to now.
