Same. I don't think it's a stretch by any means to say Jimbo is a better Xs and Os guy, but who would you rather root for as a fan or play for as a player? Eddie O is a ride or die dude.

I don't know, its hard to say Sark was the right hire since that team played their butts off for Coach O. He might not be the best X and Os coach but his team's love him. Also Sarks issue clot my thoughts on it.

I get that A&M grabbed up Buzz and people are salty about that, A&M has so much in common with us and has been pretty decent supporters of us (at least on r/cfb). They're kinda like our Texas school sibling.
I'm hoping that we're at the testing phase of the grief process and can move on to acceptance soon. I'm looking forward to seeing what CMY can do.

No, they aren't our kinda, or really, school sibling. That isn't a thing, for us or any school in the country. They are poaching our coaches and athletes, just like UVA or UNC. And at least those schools have the decency to do that BEFORE they get to VT.
Now, if A&M wants to send about 4 good players and a couple of coaches to us, then fine I'll consider them siblings and take back my comments.

Ehhh. Whit like Buzz is living in his home state. I would argue Tech is the biggest sports college in the state (even with UVA winning it all). I think Whit wants to do big things at Tech, his home state college, just like Buzz wanted to do big things back in his home state at a program where he started his career. They are one in the same.

This seems very odd as he has only been Jimbo's boss for a year and 14 years ago they worked in the same athletic department (couldn't find Woodward's actual job). LSU hired an alumni that made two very high profile coaching hires as well as lead a behemoth athletic department.
This would be like Shane Beamer becoming a head coach, lead his team to two national championships. VT would come calling when it had an opening, or less than ideal fit.
I dont see the Jimbo angle as much as their BBall coach has had off the court issues and no one likes the football coach until they beat bama. Jimbo hasnt beaten bama.

It's hard. I haven't been able to fully disconnect. There was a security vulnerability out in the wild, and I had to patch the site this morning. I have one more spring practice task I committed to do (editing French's film review, yes, film, and I previously committed to getting Sam's work edited and published, so I wanted to follow through on that) and then I hope to log off completely for a sustained period of time. Thanks for the links, interesting articles. Sounds like Woodward cooked the books at Washington, and left them with a large unanticipated debt. Jimbo Fisher fisted Florida State when he left, and Buzz didn't particularly give two shits about how he left us. They seem like a team that is destined for each other.

LSU donors saw an AD who would listen to the donors on how to win championships by throwing around wads of donor money and said "I want that". The AD was hired to hire who the donors want hired. Its gonna escalate the arms race for proven coaches at the same time it bites both LSU and TAMU.

A good friend of mine played for Coach O at USC in their heyday, and he is animate that Coach O is one of the biggest blowhards he ever played for. He was just a liar and treated everyone like absolute dog shit.
I never met the guy, so I can't speak on it personally, but he didn't paint a pretty picture.

Almost beat Clemson last year AND was on the bad end of a questionable call. Has a National Championship. Probably terrible behind the scenes. He's not one I'd want but what makes you think he's lousy?

I don't know if that can happen anytime soon. Ed O. has a hefty buyout clause. Supposedly at $6 million in 2019, $4.5 million in 2020.
