We are #1 in the Misery Index

I know I was feeling pretty darn miserable after the game, but I have come to the conclusion that this is not the end of the world.

This isn't a ranking of worst teams, worst losses or coaches whose jobs are in the most jeopardy. This is simply a measurement of a fan base's knee-jerk reaction to what they last saw. The way in which a team won or lost, expectations vis--vis program trajectory and traditional inferiority complex of fan base all factor into this ranking

Well then, a W this weekend will take us out of this top 10 then hopefully. Go Hokies!

See you in Miami

"Maybe Beamer has one more run in him, but this just doesn't feel like the same program."

It sure doesn't. Sloppy play on special teams and a meth lab explosion of an offense. At least in '06 and '07 when VT had the best D in all the land, the offense just had to do enough to NOT lose the game. In 2013 the offense and special teams are losing games.

I just laughed at 'meth lab explosion.'

I am a bad person.

Even Heisenberg and Jesse lost control of their meth business and eventually had to give it up. Very true article though. Although I wouldn't like to think or hope that Beamer has a similar fate to Bowden and Paterno (in terms of wins-losses obviously).

Party Positive.

Right. It's tough to explain to my buddy, an Oregon fan, that I feel more confident in our team scoring (or at least not blowing the game) when we are on defense.

Let's Go...

I actually had this feeling against Duke. With the way the D played, I felt more confident a pick 6 or at least getting the offense into a position where they didn't have to go more than 10 yards happening than the offense actually getting 10 yards.

same here.

I have to disagree with the meth lab explosions. Those blow up with spectacular fire balls and booms. Ours is more of an old stadium that gets imploded (like the AstroDome).

Live for 32. Ut Prosim. Let's Go, Hokies.

Seriously, how is Northwestern not #1 on this list? Just a month ago, they were 4-0, ranked in the Top 20, heading into a big game with tOSU, they get Game Day on campus, and everyone is pumped. Now they've lost 5 straight, including that hail mary from Nebraska. That's just brutal. I don't think any of us would trade places with them right now.

Bring us a pitcher of beer every seven minutes until somebody passes out. And then bring one every ten minutes.

Because that's past misery.....

We're not done winning games yet. Let Miami be our next victim!

I'm not sure this is miserable. Last year seemed worse when the losses kept coming. 7-6 a year ago, and we've already matched the season wins tally from last year. This wasn't going to get better overnight.

Regular season that is.

The one thing about being number one on this list...Fvck, if I know. I guess there is no where to go but up. I wonder if anyone has ever been #1 on the misery list, beat the tits off Miami, won the ACC Coastal and robbed FSU of their chance to go to a national championship. No, not yet anyway............
