Sources: Kerry Blackshear, the best available transfer, isn't expected to take any more official visits. The growing thought is he's extremely close to announcing his decision, which could come as early as Sunday.β Evan Daniels (@EvanDaniels) June 22, 2019

Yay more speculation incoming
Daniels also posted this on the free side of 247.
I'd love to see him return to VT.
But no matter what happens, the fact that VT is still in the running and a credible choice is a tribute to the tenacity of Mike Young.
We're a top 15-25 team with him.
Competitive team without, but likely NIT bound.
I like option 1 much better.
But either way, I'm really happy with what Young has done in his short time in Blacksburg.
I disagree. I think without him we'd be lucky to be over .500. With him, probably NIT with outside chance at tourney if everything falls our way.
Agreed, even if KBJ comes back, we will be one of the youngest teams in the country next year. Talented, yes, but I expect there to be some growing pains.
Just for perspective, '15-'16 team is basically what you're describing w/ KBJ:
Rotation for '15-'16: LeDay (R-Jr.), Bibbs (Soph.), Allen (R-Jr.), JRob (Fr.), Clarke (Fr.), Wilson (Jr.), Hudson (Soph.), KBJ (Fr.), Henry (R-Sr.)
Projected rotation for '19-'20: KBJ (R-Sr.), Bede (Jr.), Cone (Fr.), Nolley (r-Fr.), Wilkins (Soph.), Horne (Jr.), Bongo (Soph.), Johnson (r-Sr.), Alleyne (Fr.)
IMHO, I think that's a fair but conservative statement. Current version of KBJ is better than anyone on the '15-'16 team. Based on his rotations at Wofford, CMY really rides his best players in nut-cutting time ...Cone/Bede/Wilkins/Nolley/KBJ is a compelling lineup if prior play and recruiting rankings hold true.
If we snag both KBJ and Wur, I think we're better than a bubble team.
If (and I realize it's a big "if") Blackshear comes back, are we out of scholarships or do we still have 1 more?
Technically we would be out but we could drop Radford back to walk-on status if need be (which I imagine CMY would do if we got KBJ and Wur).
I'm not sure anyone beyond VT Admin actually knows for sure. The alternatives would be pretty limited...boat is full and we are done, someone isn't on scholarship, someone takes a medical out, or someone enters the portal.
Hopefully CMY can get Kerry to sign on and make this an issue.
Agreed. People are really overlooking just how much talent and (likely more importantly) experience we lost with NAW, J-Rob, Med, and Outlaw moving on. Even if Buzz stayed, I was expecting a step back. Yes, we have players that have played, but not with the workloads those other players had. We're not Kentucky or Duke bringing All Americans every year to where overwhelming raw talent makes up for it. It takes time to get to that Top 25 level. Losing that much experience will show on the court
You're severely underestimating how good KBJ is. Dominant post men change college teams.
Disagree with that point. If you don't have shooters in today's college basketball (3-pt line moving back too), you will take any post man and make him overwhelmed and frustrated.
We have loads of guards that can hit open threes.
All three freshman show it extensively on tape, Nolley is a very good shooter, Bede and Wilkins have proven it, Kabongo shot a decent percentage but needs more data points.
Bede can't shoot a lick. Great defender, can't shoot
You'd probably be shocked to know his 3 point percentage in a Hokie uniform is better than: Justin Robinson and NAW and is the same as Ahmed Hill.
Yeah, but we're talking about a much more limited sample size. I think if Bede had more takes, that percentage would go down. But who knows, he passed up so many shots last year with all the great shooters surrounding him, so maybe this year he'll feel more comfortable shooting more and perhaps wow us all.
when he became a starter this past season, his overall shooting stats cratered...34% from the field and 26% from 3 during conference play; but he did have some bright moments.
hopefully, he finds a niche/confidence that works for him under CMY. there are several very good shooters on this roster, at least at the HS level, that would like his minutes. frankly I think he needs to do a much better job finishing at the basket; he's more than quick enough to get there.
That does shock me and I stand corrected. I watched a lot of games but apparently my perception was wrong.....
He's very streaky, but he reminds me of JRob early in his career shooting wise. I think his development this summer is the biggest question mark for CMY ball.
Bede's shot looks like an Elaine Benes dance tutorial. He needs to simplify it like Erick Green did in his career.
And to think some say Seinfeld isn't relatable!
What's the deal with relatability?
Bede will have to be reliable this year for tech to be competetive, and I think he will show our fans that he is a good player.
It's very reasonable to expect continued improvement from Horne, Bede, Kabongo
and Wilkins. My real interest: How good will Nolley be??? He's had a year in the program. Will he be a "normal" freshman" or will he explode on the scene like a 1 and done???
Along with the Blackshear decision, I think this is the biggest wildcard for next season.
We have loads of guards who might be able to hit open threes.
Everyone hits 3s on their mixed tape.
And watch Bedes shot. A lot of moving parts. He needs to remain conservative on his takes.
If you don't have shooters...
We have those. An all-ACC level threat in the post would be a huge part of getting them open.
A competitive team in year one would give Young instant credibility for future recruiting. KJ would make us at least that. This is a big decision for all parties involved.
That's extremely optimistic, but it would be nice to be in contention to make the tournament
Didn't he just OV to Kentucky or something rather? And started following them on social media and vice versa?
I'm all for him returning, but my hope meter didn't even flinch when I read the title of this thread. I don't think he's coming back π
Was just reading the Kentucky 247 board, and they don't seem optimistic whatsoever. So there's that.
Anybody help me understand the draw to UT? Kentucky, A&M - even Florida seem more obvious. What am I missing?
Off the top of my head UT is a preseason top 25 team and with him added would move to a top 15. He likely would be the focal point if he goes there. Possibly offers his grad program? It's a short drive to VT, so his girlfriend could easily visit on the weekends or they can both drive 1.5 hours and meet up. And Barnes is a pretty good coach to boot.
If he stays at VT, he can see her every day.
Just sayin'.
Don't disagree. The first thing I asked this board when he entered the portal was if he had a girlfriend. But if he does want to move onto another school, yet still wants to be near her, then UT would be the choice out of all the schools he's looking at. Just sayin
He might end up staying but he might feel like staying at VT and putting up better numbers on a borderline tournament team might not help his draft stock. If he is a #1/#2 option on a team that has a chance for a deep tournament run then maybe he gets noticed more. This is his last chance to be viewed as a viable nba player.
This argument I've never agree with.
He's a known quality. NBA scouts aren't basing their selections on ESPNs hype machine. A deep tourney run would raise his profile, but not his draft stock.
I probably put too much emphasis on the tournament. It would be easy for scouts to overlook a fifth year senior on a young team where he would be the focal point of the offense. If goes to a more talented team its possible he could stand out.
I agree with this. Ja Morant played at Murray State and was the #2 pick.
KBJ plays in the ACC so there isn't a concern about "level of competition" or exposure.
Maybe KBJ just wants the chance to play for a national championship. That's a small possibility at VT, that's a big possibility at UK.
And maybe Kerry just wants a change of scenery, a new experience, and maybe even a little distance from said girlfriend. Maybe his other girlfriend goes to UT. Maybe, man, or just maybe nobody but him has a clue what he'll do or why he'll do it...or maybe...man, I want this drama to end. Drivin' me nuts.
What's the drive like from VT to Blacksburg?
depends how many red lights you hit
It's the blue lights that really slow you down.
True.
They slow down your drive.
And everything else. Better to avoid those.
This is fun speculation
Skutt, it looks like UK is already waiving the white flag (Link Here):
It's true that he could possibly make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament if he goes to Kentucky (or Tennessee), which would be amazing for him. But he could also end up being the 4th or 5th option. It's very high-risk, high-reward.
If he comes back to VT, I think he becomes more than just the centerpiece for next year's team. He could also establish himself as one of the most successful and beloved Hokies ever to play basketball at Virginia Tech. 10 years from now he could be remembered as a central figure who not only contributed to unprecedented team success, but was also the bridge between (hopefully) two very successful eras in VT basketball.
I agree with the poster above, his NBA prospects are basically established, and he's going to play professional basketball somewhere. But his legacy is still very much in play.
If he gets ACC POY next year, good chance he gets his jersey retired. I don't know if that matters to him.
Erick Green got POY in 2013 but didn't get his retired. Then again, Green didn't have KBJ's team success.
Would ACC POY qualify as an established national award? By definition it's a conference and not really a national award, despite it typically meaning you're the best player in the best conference.
Also another chance to beat on the drum that I'm not a fan of VT Athletic's jersey retirement policy - the only good thing is that the criteria is clear and not really subject to bias.
The ACC media's love affair with Tre Jones is going to probably torpedo any chances of KBJ winning the award this year, even if he has marked improvement in his stats.
Nope. If that were the case, Tyrod Taylor and David Wilson would be eligible to have their jersey's retired.
https://www.ranker.com/list/best-virginia-tech-hokies-basketball-players...
In one list, Blackshear currently ranks 6th among all-time Hokie players. (With Curry and Bimbo #1 & #2). Blackshear could end up top 5. That's a ton of speaking engagements and free drinks after his professional career is over!
Does the Curry family still have animosity towards the program? Everyone associated with VTBB has left since their kids went through recruitment.
Dell and Sonya should be Blacksburg royalty but I never see them involved in the Virginia Tech community. Sonya just as much as Dell- she was an all-conference volleyball player at VT.
EDIT: Based on this article, there isn't as much vitriol as I anticipated. Hope to think it's water under the bridge at this point, both of their kids ended up carving out NBA careers.
Steph has openly rooted for VT in the past (at least in football, not really basketball) so I don't think it's an issue.
They'd probably just rather hang out in California and watch Steph play there for now than make cross country trips to Blacksburg for anything.
I've seen him wear VT gear as well.
I hope Curry gives a commencement speech after he retires so the school can give him an honorary degree.
I'm not sure he has to speak to get a degree, the university could just mail him one.
We're not UNC.
Dell still plays some charity golf events for VT I believe
So I'm thinking that just for the health of all Hokie fans, tomorrow would be a great time for KBJ to announce he's coming back, Tavien Feaster announce hes transfering to VT, and Antwaun Powell commit to the good guys. Or maybe spread it out over the days next week, that would work for me too.
Part of me thinks we've built up more than enough in the karmic piggybank for this to pass.
Part of me thinks you haven't been a Hokie fan long enough.
Insert Dumb and Dumber and Caddyshack gifs here
There's a difference between being wooed, wined and dined during recruiting vs. actually making the decision to leave a place that probably holds some of the fondest memories he'll ever have!
The sting and drama of Buzz leaving is over. My guess is he actually likes the new guy which makes it even harder.
Now comes the moment of truth. Does he uproot and change his life for the chance at something else or does he come back to what he knows... Believe me, leaving will take a great deal of courage! I wouldn't want to be him this weekend.
Yes, get on with it.
CMY after Nolley, Bede, Cone, Cattoor, Alleyne, and Ojiako
So if KBJ comes back and Wur commits....how far away from Coach Beamer's statue do we put CMY's statue /s
Unfortunately, Wur committed to Oregon on his OV
Skutt obviously has a better pulse on the team than I do but I was always under the impression that Radford's scholarship status was fluid. I'm sure Radford is a great kid but when an obvious take like Wur is available, you make the numbers work.
With Wur not taking the rest of his OVs, my assumption is Oregon made a Godfather offer or he was a silent commit. From the outside looking in, I wouldn't put too much stock into the timing
This is all probably true but it goes against my narrative so I'm choosing to ignore it
I would have to agree with you....not based on anything, just that I like your narrative better.
Just waiting on TKP to report it
Do you uh, know something sir?
Knowledge is a blessing and a curse
so, uh, where's Blackshear playing in 2019?
Just means ignorance is bliss
And yet I keep opening this post.
Is that the mom from Home Alone??
No, its the mom from Beetlejuice
Catherine O'Hara, who played both.
Ooooh you mean the woman who was in Best In Show. Yeah, that's a good one.
No, no, no. The one from A Mighty Wind.
That's not it. If I'm not mistaken, she's the one from Second City TV.
If my hopes and dreams are any indication - kbj will be returning to bburg!

Ignore, got pranked by fake twitter....
I'm not sure my heart can take much more of these threads. Somebody let me know when it's official.
Not yet

When will then be now?
Soon.

Someone needs to edit Blackshear into this:
Doesn't CMY have a media event on Wednesday?
Yes. To announce that Kerry Blackshear should come to a decision any day now.
Don't be surprised if the SCLSU Mud Dogs ends up being his landing spot.
Last year of eligibility Brent, can't hold anything back now.
come on KJ, you can do it!
Decision has been made
A decision that fits well into your aforementioned narrative?
Pics or it didn't happen.
Just saw it. Can't believe he's retiring to play minor league baseball
He's taking his talents to South Beach isn't he?
Yea i decided to not refresh this thread every minute.
Same here, I'm on a strict 5 minute cycle now
This is helpful
I've run out of popcorn.
I've run out of bourbon!
It's 9am man!
But Skutts post was like 11pm, if he's anything like me he's just been refreshing the page and his bourbon every few minutes since then.
at one glass of bourbon every 5 minutes since 11pm its no wonder we havent heard from him in a while
via GIPHY
I haven't pooped since KJ took his name out of the draft
Afterwards:
I was gonna ask whether we need celebratory amounts of bourbon or drown our sorrows amounts of bourbon, but I realized there probably wouldn't be a difference.
But the type of bourbon that will be consumed will be different.
Edit: ^This^
Good bourbon to celebrate, rot gut to kill the pain.
Not for me. I'll start with the good stuff, and slowly move down in quality and up in portion size. The part that changes for me based on the occasion is the stopping point.
Tyler Childers agrees
Well time to break out the cheapest whiskey I own.
So...is someone just going to go knock on his door and ask him?
Is he considered a recruit at this point? Just looking for @ing etiquette.
He's still enrolled at Tech so I doubt he's considered a recruit
But don't tweet at recruits
Okay if we don't tweet @ croots how are they supposed to know we exist?
Dang you're right
Don't get excited by the caption in the tweet, no new information here regarding where he will be...but I did not realize that KBJ is a 4.0 student who plans on getting his doctorate degree. That is one impressive young man.
Whenever I type Kerry Blackshear in Google to see an update, I type in Kerry Blacksburg by mistake every time. It has to be a sign.
I'm hoping they're waiting until CMY's media event Wednesday. Does anyone know the time of the media event?
11 am
Skutt is being coy here. Every day has an 11am
Edit:
Is his media event available to the public? I cant seem to find it.
I was worried this might drag on, so I decided not to buy the whiskey until I know it's celebration time. That said, I'm retired, the wife just left town for a couple of days, so I'm already on my third Lite trying not to chunder myself since I have a feeling all this hype is gonna last a couple of days. It is difficult for me to describe how much I want KBJ back in the Cassell. My celebratory snack, since the wife is out of town, is destined to be bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, though. What bourbon suggestions would go well with that?
Dude buy a smoker and look up Atomic Buffalo Turds.
never thought about including the smokies, but can and will always vouch for smoking as the best method for preparing bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos
a martini with jalapeno infused vodka would go well with the poppers.
I believe proper etiquette requires that to be paired with Blanton's.
Well, I screwed up and drank so much beer that I went ahead and ate the poppers last night. Today's celebratory meal will be escargot puff pastry pops, not exactly bourbon paired food, but what do I care if I'm celebrating?
Natty Lite pairs with escargot, so all is not lost.
There will be an ESPN 30 for 30 on this whole deal. Happy Hump Day everyone

How Kerry Blackshear Jr. tiptoed the transfer line with only one foot
Just RT'd by KJ.
This is apparently what my day has been reduced to.
Reduced? That video was A+
Retweeted by Coach Webster
Celebratory post edited. Nothing here to see fam.
who is dylan orrell and do we believe him?
via GIPHY
Webster's tweet reads "show kj how much we want him back in Blacksburg " this means 1) TWEET @ CROOTS 2)nothing official yet
More context
Thank you I was trying to do this on mobile but it's a pain in the ass. If fucking Microsoft could get off my computer so I could key play harder that'd be fantastic.
I think this is a strong indicator that KBJ is coming back. It's a really bad look for VTBB to publicly beg a player to come back and then he goes to a different program. If KBJ gave a silent commit to the coaching staff, Webster is able to lock in some street cred from Hokie Nation risk-free with one tweet.
Does Webster need anymore street cred? He's like the reason we've been able to pull together this "transition" squad for the most part.
I have to agree. It's almost like Webster is intentionally trying to build extra hype for tomorrow's media event....almost
Xtra hype? I'm sorta semi kinda going bonkers here.
Is this for real?
I don't think it's real yet. Looks like Dylan is just some VT student tweeting at KBJ. What caught my eye was that Coach Webster did the re-tweet.
I leave my computer for an hour and a half, come back to 30 new comments...
scanning through:

see that KBJ graphic:

read the fine print:

Yeah, I have been away from the computer saw 58 updates and figured there was finally some real news. No such luck.
Yea we don't do that here
I have no sources other than anything posted on this thread or Twitter. But, given that info, I have an educated guess.
Skutt comments on this thread last night "a decision has been made." The coaches most likely knew of Blackshear's decision before anyone else aside from his own family.
Today, Webster sends out a tweet encouraging Hokie fans to let KJ know how much we want him back in Blacksburg. Obviously if a decision has been made, Webster knows that decision. Why would he tweet that out if he decided to go to UK or UTK? Like someone said earlier, it's not a good look to beg for a player then not get him, especially if you know he's not committing. And it's not like a KJ commitment for one year will make or break our basketball program under Coach Young, therefore there is no reason to beg anyway.
TL;DR, I believe KJ is coming back.
Here's my educated guess:
Best troll account comment on twitter so far I think was the one who said he decided to leave basketball and follow his passion for Marine Biology.
That's the one. Stupid work computer only let's me do work at work. Not post things on non-work things.
IS ANYONE HERE A MARINE BIOLOGIST???
Titleist?
I was at the Dry Tortugas all day. Not even back to Key West yet.
I was excited by the number of post. The only thing I can add is KBJ was not snorkeling with me today.
Hope you didn't get see sick on the boat ride back...
The key to snorkeling is to get sick when you get there the fish get much closer. I know this because I have a sibling that gets sea sick.
Not to completely derail this thread but is it actually possible to throw up while under water for humans?
Yes.
https://www.outsideonline.com/1922711/raising-dead
Great read if you have 30-40 minutes
I took some classes. It's a big deal at UNCW. Ichthyology lab was literally just going fishing.
He is going to bump his head a lot if he gets in a sub...
My favorite troll tweet was the one where Tennessee withdrew the scholarship offer because Blackshear said that Pal's was "overrated".
That guy is good then cause he tweeted both of them.
Well, if that was true, French may never let him back on the team.
Well, if he's not coming back to the Hokies, Marine Biology sounds really good to me.
no jobs, he'll starve
Now why was that downvoted? I balanced you out.
This has been crazy. Hasn't been good for getting sleep the last week waiting on an announcement. Had better set an alarm for tomorrow.
0535 where I am. Making my first check up on this thread for the day.
I'll be back plenty of times today.
What time does CMY talk to the media today?
11
Beautiful morning
I will be refreshing this thread all day. Come on KBJ, don't let us down
The Presser will not be streamed per VT.
This is why we have a man on the inside
Hercules Mulligan!
Mashing refresh on this like an old-time signing day thread
Any new crystal balls!?!

Seems like the media availability today has nothing to do with KJ
Doesn't look like the decision will be announced today, and not at the presser.

1 second. damn. but I will gladly...
Wartooth and Beaver be like
Can't argue with facts. Best of luck!!!
Good news guys! On August 26th classes start and we will know if kbj is there or not!
Jeez Louise, end of August? Oh well, a liver is a terrible thing to waste.
Good news for your liver. There is a July 1st deadline.
Too late, liver's shot. Wanna take the test to see if you can be a replacement donor? I'll buy you a bottle of Pappy, but I'd need a shot or two to see what all the buzz is all about.
Man.... I had my "Blackshear's Back Alright!" Backstreet Boys meme all ready to go too...
I am curious how solid the sources were that claimed that a decision has been made. Personally I can't think of a good reason to draw this out for so long after a decision has been made. The only reason I can think of to not announce if a decision was actually made is if he is leaving and doesn't want to ruin his remaining month or two in Blacksburg. However, it does seem through the coach's actions that he is leaning towards staying.
Reddit thinks that as a NBA hopeful for next year he is soaking up the media attention to try to boost his profile. Reddit is also very unreliable so who knows
NBA scouts do not give half a shit what UT, UK and VT twitter folks are saying back and forth.
Maybe the Knicks do.
I always have to take these kind of updates with a grain of salt. There's no substance to them, and they're impossible to dispute unless you have firsthand knowledge that a decision has not been made. It often comes across as a way of saying "I'm in the know" without actually saying anything.
He's not in Blacksburg right now (online graduate classes) so that's one less reason
I saw a post on twitter that, in effect, said keeping KBJ also means keeping his dad, which may not be ideal for a young coach.
Is there something I'm missing here? I didn't know that there were any issues surrounding his family. Are they just full of crap?
Just because his name is Young, doesn't mean he's young. I think CMY is in his 50's.
Agreed. Just paraphrasing the garbage on twitter, which got me wondering about KBJ's father and whether I'd really missed something over the past few years.
Y'all. We can self-moderate this. If: someone is posting things, to which they aren't personally and directly related, and it isn't part of a larger story line that is already out there, why are we repeating it? Don't just amplify noise. That's two posts in a row here, and we had that garbage about Kumah a few weeks ago, don't just repeat things from nobodies.
Fair enough. I was just asking if there actually was anything to it in order to...you know, determine whether or not it was baseless.
Can probably locate it but young met KJs dad early in the process and his dad came away very impressed with MY. I believe the quote was 'he's a wonderful man'.
So yeah what you read was BS
I'm glad to hear that. Thanks for debunking.
He's forever Young.
So Florida going to get Powell and Blackshear aren't they?
They might.
Both of my kids picked UF...I don't have any room to bitch if someone goes there. It's a fine school with a lot to offer.
My oldest wants to go to Tech, 2nd wants to go to UCF because she can work at Disney while at school (I'm ok with that since they launched their pay for college program).
duplicate...ingnore
UCF is very good in some of their programs. The key in-state here is to look at the individual programs. Several of the schools are very good at some things, but not all things. And some will offer more money than others to get the top students. Two of my daughter's HS buds, who are both currently doing their residencies, took the money and went to USF for pre-med rather than go to UF. Worked out great for them.
I'm going to be doing my Masters online at either USF or UCF.
For instance, if your son/daughter wants to go to Clown College. Look no further than Florida State:
Three of my friends interned at Disney (they were IEs), and they all said it was a great internship.
https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1144036686550188034
Thank you!
....two losses to UF in one day?
Jeeze crazy if true
Damn, Torian Gray really must have said some shit.
"Hey let me check twitter and see if there's a KBJ update":
I just got a espn alert for KBJ too Florida
What the hell happened? He was coming back...coaches were groveling for him ("mad look if he doesn't commit"), etc.
normal cursing does not do justice to what this sparks in me. I hate sports
Haven't been this upset about a Florida transfer since Finney-Smith
I hate those damn gators
I hate sports. Seriously. Fuck em.
Why can't we have nice things....
Starters: Cone, Bede, Wilkins, Nolley, Johnson
Bench: Cattoor, Bongo, Alleyne, Horne, Ojiako
3rd String/Redshirts/Walk-Ons: Aluma, Radford, Palmer
Roster has more questions than The Riddler. Don't expect us go .500 in conference this year.
I have no animosity towards KBJ. Dude put guys in the torture chamber in the post, represented the program the right way, 4.0 student and played his heart out. One of the biggest reasons we're no longer the worst program in the ACC. Will always remember the UVa game, gave us the go ahead bucket in one of the most impressive wins in Virginia Tech history.
Good luck big dawg, go ball out at UF and then go get paid.
Well on the bright side, we are going to have an absurd amount of returning talent for 2020-21 and beyond. The only senior in that team is Johnson. The only juniors are Bede and Horne.
I broke my hand that night punching the wall out of pure enjoyment. It was worth it.
Ha! Touche'
Wtf. Guess the checks from UF must have all arrived on the same day.
/s ...maybe
Eh. The kid deserves to head back home. Hopefully he can parlay this into a draft pick. He was a boss here and he will kick ass in the sec.
We do wish him the best. He graduated, and has the option to do what he did. Good luck KBJ. You're still a Hokie at heart.
*curb your enthusiasm music intensifies*
I hope he goes for 20 and 20 against Texas A&M
All 3s
20?
Yea he takes 5 threes, gets fouled and makes the and 1. Come on son. Do you even math.
miss america contestant? /s
And now my watch has ended
In case anyone had any doubts
Can't fault the kid for leaving if all of these are true.
I guess he didn't want to face the top caliber ACC competition anymore. Sorry to see him go after he stepped up his game this year when jRob went out.
I love the first reply to Bitter's follow up tweet this morning.
People already forgetting what CMY has done to get a team even on the court this upcoming year.
Boy isn't being a college sports fan fun? I love having fun talking about how much I love and support my chosen school with like minded fans who also enjoy things.
Fucking clowns. CMY hasn't even coached a game yet.
Jay's a jackass.
Dorian Finney-Smith, Jalen Hudson, Torrian Gray & now KBJ.
Where would Florida be without us to keep them afloat?
Back-to-back National champions in basketball, plus some more from football, just for funsies.
At least he didnt go to Tennessee
Or aTm. Wish him the best.
I can't even begin to imagine what he went through to get to this decision. We know he is a strong young man from his time at VT. But he really stepped it up here with how he handled this process. Is this a tough pill for all Hokies to swallow? Of course! But I would not want to be in a position to have to feel like I let down thousands of people doing what is best for myself. It is easy for those of us who have grown up as Hokies our entire lives or for those that came to Tech and left as die hard Hokies to say that we would have come back here! Good luck as a part-time Gator. Once a Hokie, always a Hokie.
I'm not happy. I'm getting tired of loosing recruits and current athletes to the SEC. Fuck Florida and fuck the SEC. And fuck Clemson while I'm at it! End of vent!
I think Kerry leaving is objectively the best decision for his future career.
Leaving Blacksburg was likely not easy, but he has to consider his future and with the options of UK/Tenn/UF etc. on the board, I would have been quite surprised if he returned. Even with KBJ, no telling how severe the growing pains would have been with Hokie Hoops for next year.
He gave us his all, I appreciate that, and I wish him nothing but success.
We weren't going to win a natty this year regardless and he's gone from the sport after that, so I'm just happy there's been a decision. Best of luck, KBJ!
Antwuan Powell and now Kerry Blackshear. Please, someone assure me Tavien Feaster isn't committing to University of Florida in the near future!!!!!
Florida. Why'd it have to be Florida?

Good lets move on to something like a top 5 recruiting class in wrestling!
It's been rough go at it here lately (FU, UF), but I figured this would lighten moods around here. How about his dog's name, pretty good one am I right? #AlleyOop Maybe Hank and Alley can hang out some time.
