Bitter blog - Loeffler on Logan Thomas criticism: ‘That’s part of the business'

interesting how SL seems to want to start everything under center but the offense "evolved" into the pistol.

That seems to be a pretty clear indicator that there is a good reason we're NOT running more plays from under center. Thoughts? (mason?, french?)

Onward and upward

Nice job of setting "Homer J" straight. Thanks!

I continue too think all of it goes away if he'd just protect the ball. Throw it away and don't force plays. I love LT's determination, most people with that kind of attention and negativity would crumble, and yet he still plays hard and wants to lead. Thanks AB

I get your point but when you have .2 seconds (lack of blocking) to determine what to do its kind of tough to want to throw the ball away.

Watch the BC pick, there were at least 2-3 BC players in the backfield within seconds of the snap, that's unacceptable

Sure, but it's Quarterbacking 101 to know that blindly tossing a pass into the middle of the field without really looking is a horrible idea that's almost guaranteed to end badly.

Agreed, or just take the sack, thats one thing I wish Logan did better. sometimes you see him do it others he tries to hard and it normally ends up bad very bad.

I assume he was trying to avoid the sack as well as intentional grounding, but I still wish he had just chucked it as far as he could. I don't mind an interception 40 yards downfield. That's like a punt and I can get over that.

I am one of the biggest critics of Logan; however, I will be the first to admit that it's not in any way entirely his fault. Let me be clear, terrible decision making with interceptions or over thrown passes, or running up the middle when the line is flooded with bodies has been a horrible habit for him when the ball is snapped for 1.5 seasons. I will give him credit on his run game with power running, determination to drive forward after contact; he is great at that. Maybe it is developing WR talent through coaching from Moorehead, maybe Logan can be a stronger leader on the field. When Logan is on - he's on. When he is off - dear Jesus is he off! There's, it seems, no in between with him. Questionable play calling by ST is there as well.

Stick It In...Stick It In...Stick It In!

Andy gets a gold star today for throwing down the Godfather II plug.

Definitely the best sequel in movie history.

I submit Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back for your consideration...

Hokies.

Upvote for a formidable challenger, for sure.

However, your Jedi mind tricks do not work on me. DeNiro's turn as the young Vito Corleone absolutely killed it.

The comments on the Roanoke Times blog post are pretty amazing...

amazing. . .ly bad

Yep. It makes me wanna do this...

I support Logan Thomas and make no apologies for it.

My favorite thing about the entire article. Loeffler said ultimately the blame goes to him (Loeffler). I cannot recall our prior O staff ever taking the blame (always blamed the players).

We put the K in Kwality

This is what happens when you hire an OC that has coached in the SEC. He has accountability and respect for the players. He's not going to hide and say well you know we're a few plays away from winning.

Goodness, everyone KNOWS that Stinefuck NEVER took responsibility for his inadequecies(sp) and always blamed the players or did his best to avoid the direct questions (and looked & sounded like a complete dumbfuck too).

DFWTF...DON'T FUCK WITH THE FULLERS

I'm not going to downvote this...but "Stinefuck"...really dude? Really?

Leonard. Duh.

As I stated in a previous thread, I am a former FBSer (Fire Bryan Stinespring). I was ALL IN on that blog. I even own two FBS t-shirts (and I even wore them proudly to work). I didn't make up that term but I won't deny that I've used it a number of times (and worse). If you did downvote me I wouldn't hold it it against you just like I won't hold it against said TKPer (and Hokie fan more importantly). Being that I was an FBSer I cannot promise that I won't use scathing remarks when referencing him in the future. Thanks and a leg.

DFWTF...DON'T FUCK WITH THE FULLERS

I was as ardent an anti-Stinespring guy as you'll find, but when he stepped aside, took a demotion, and remained with the team he loves, he earned a lot of points in my book and I forgave the man. I think everyone in the Hokie Nation should, too. Great guy, out of his league as OC. To each his own.

Better man than me. I would have flipped two middle fingers in the sky all the way to JMU.

Then I would have called all the recruits that I had in the fold for this year and said, "Remember all that great stuff I told you about the Hokies? I lied. None of it's true. You'll never play one down, and Bud Foster sleeps with a night light and wears footie PJs."

Leonard. Duh.

Yea, then Foster would have hunted his ass down and have SAM ROGERS mow down what's left of him for even thinking that.

And have you noticed how our TEs are productive again? (well, one of them)

I'm optimistic about having sets with Malleck AND Cline.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Uh, just out of the question, what exactly were his options (you know, other coaching touch at the Y)?

DFWTF...DON'T FUCK WITH THE FULLERS

Plenty. He's a good TE coach and could have easily wound up doing that at a mid-major, probably could be an OC at the FCS level. He's a great recruiter, which is a valuable skill to have.

"Exit light..."

Sorry, as a former FBSer I sincerely doubt his prospects were that many other than peewee leagues.

DFWTF...DON'T FUCK WITH THE FULLERS

Didn't Stine recruit & sign Mike Vick? What else does the guy need to do? lol
