So I was reading twitter today and saw a bunch of tweets that indicate that Derrick Green hates it up in Ann Arbor and is more than likely going to transfer after the season. Most people (by people I mean recruiting analysts) automatically listed VT, Tennessee and Ole Miss as the three most likely places where he could possibly land up. While there is no truth to this rumor yet (although it is probably true) I am still ecstatic that he could end up at Tech. How would you guys feel if he transfers to us? Do you think he would start immediately?

By immediately do you mean in 2015 (after sitting a year) or hoping for a Russell Wilson-esque situation where he doesn't have to sit? I have no idea how RW & Wisconsin finagled that one and if VT/Green would qualify for that if he even decides to transfer. As long as they keep their noses clean and want to fight for a spot on the roster/in our hearts, I'll welcome just about any kid into the O&M fold.
Russell Wilson finished undergrad in three years. The NCAA allows a football player to transfer to whatever school he wants as long as he's enrolled in a graduate program that is not offered at his current school.
I think you mean a Phillip Sims-esque situation.
Russel Wilson graduated in 3 years leaving him open to go to post grad at Wisconsin and play immediately. Not the case for an undergrad transfer.
I don't know if I would want this kid. I realize he's talented but I've heard nothing but bad things about him since his high school days. Wanting to transfer after one semester of college for unsubstantial reasons reeks of someone with maturity issues.
Wait, who didn't suffer from maturity issues at 18-19 yrs old? Gimme a break. If he hasn't been in serious trouble then I welcome the mini Marshawn Lynch with open arms!
What are these bad things you've heard?
I agree. Ann-Arbor is a really long way from home, you can't say without knowing that the kid is immature or is a bad influence/impact on a program. I don't think we can jump to conclusions on what's going on in the young man's life.
I agree. And I mean, lets be honest, have you seen The Five Year Engagement? C'mon, who would want to live there after seeing that?! He probably was turned off by all the deer-themed sweaters people were knitting for him.
Seriously, the deli was only redeeming quality that I saw.
I definitely meant to upvote you man, ...but I'm a little buzzed ...I'm so sorry.
But you basically said everything that I was going to post about this kid. He's fragmented but I haven't heard anything stellar abut his character, he seems indecisive and a little self centered in my honest opinion.
got you covered
Talented*
Not fragmented.
I have heard that he has had weight issues since high school. Now he is upset about not getting enough playing time?
I doubt he will come here knowing our situation at RB
Lots of us had weight issues freshmen year..... Just sayin'
30 pounds by Xmas break for me. Beer and gumbys FTW.
Two Things:
Thanks for the clarification Joe.
Michigan is a long way from home. I will always welcome any young person who sees the light and decides they want to become a Hokie. Conversion is a beautiful thing and should be encouraged. Too bad it is just a troll though.
I salivate over the idea of a power I with Sam Rogders as the truck and Marshawn as the trailer. Pure diesel horse power. That is a lot of horse power to have in the stable....lots of horse power....
I'm pretty sure the guy who started these rumors is trolling for hits to his website. Brian Cook has called him out for this.

That said, if there's anyone frustrated, it'd be one of Michigan's runningbacks. Their o-line is playing very poorly.
I was going to say if this is true, wait till he gets that michigan winter.
