after his cancer diagnosis.
"I'm rehabbing for that, trying to make a comeback before the season ends," Conner said. "And then I'm rehabbing and [stuff and I get] night sweats, bro. I'm getting like 15 minutes of sleep at night, going through it. Sleep, who [doesn't] love sleep? That's the worst [stuff] in the world ... And so I get some tests done, and I got tumors surrounding my heart ... I got tumors growing all around it, and it's pressing."
The issue was severe — so severe, in fact, that Conner says doctors gave him a grim prognosis on the spot.
"The doctor told me I had a week left," Conner said. "He said, 'You got about a week. If you [don't] get this treated, you [have] about a week at the rate it's growing.'"
Really a miracle to see the kind of career he has had since beating cancer. He was a hell of a competitor to play against as well.

He was money in college! Hated playing against him. He will be the same for the Steelers!
You watched last season right? He already is money for the Steelers.
At least the beating he gave us let me know to pick him up in fantasy!
He is one of the few non-hokie players that I was envious that he wasn't on our team. He was a beast to face.
James Conner is a rhinoceros masquerading as a running back.
One of my favorite ballers. Great at Pitt and now great in the NFL. He's twice the person LaVeon Bell is too. Steelers knew what they were doing.
who
(yes, still)
Yea I never heard of her
James Connor is such an impressive dude.
He was working out with the team while going through treatment, dude has all of my respect.
Great guy and great haircut
James Conner went through the season looking like he found out he got the starting job while he was in the barber's chair.
James and Larry are the only two Pitt players I've ever liked.
