I'll be honest, this probably is going to push me over the edge to sign up for All Access. Been on the fence for Discovery but this just looks too good to miss.

After viewing trailer - I have goosebumps and am definitely going to be watching it.
My wife already made that decision anyway, lol, but I can say I'm 100% on board. There's a reason my kids have middle names from/inspired by Trek characters.

Why is it that the lights never seem to work in TV shows, especially any kind of drama? Working with the lights so dim is bad for your eyes.
Despite all that, I am optimistic this could be good. Still not sure I'm going to give CBS money for Yet Another Streaming Service™, but moreso than for Discovery.

Wow. Extremely excited. Discovery has been terrific. Some action scenes in pivotal episodes are better cinematic pieces than actual Star Trek movies or really any sci-fi movie. I can only imagine this is going to be even better. Star trek is doing what star wars can't, puttting great writing, great acting and great production in the same room. Can't wait.

Hmmm... Looks like a very cool SciFI show, but am not sure how much it feels like a (good) Trek show. Seven of Nine felt off, too - like Data with the emotion chip. For a show called 'Picard' it sure seemed like the most important character wasn't Picard. But it's nice to see them giving some much needed fan service though. It'll be interesting to see where they go with it.

So has anyone watched the Star Trek: Discovery series? I was all excited and loved the first episode when they debuted in on CBS, but I did not want to sign up for yet another streaming service with CBS all access just to watch one show. Not that this show plus the new Twilight Zone is on there I may bite the bullet and just purchase it. I'm just curious if anyone has watched the new series and their thoughts.

Yes I have watched it. You have to get over a few things but the show is actually quite good. Season 2 is much better than season 1. If you like Star Trek there is no reason you shouldn't like Discovery. I paid for All Access but canceled it after each season. One good thing out of it is they have all the remastered versions of all the shows on there so if you don't already have Netflix it gets you access to all the series. 9 bucks a month is not too bad for something you want to see.

Similar genre, but totally OT, I just saw the the Orville is moving over to Hulu as a Hulu exclusive for the next season. I'm pretty pissed.
So, I won't get to see either of these shows.

Wait they are bringing Seven of Nine back?

Jeri Ryan, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner are all confirmed to be in it.
Before viewing the trailer - meh.

Make it so
I believe you meant to say:

Love it!

I don't want to give CBS All Access any of my money, but damn if I'm not excited for Picard's return.
A little disappointing there is no Number 1, but apparently Johnathan Frakes directed a few of the episodes for this.
He and Marina Sirtis are confirmed to be in the show. I am sure they won't be main characters but you will at least be getting to see them.
Number 1
MacGruber with the poop joke

TNG meets Serenity? I'll take it.

If you assume the Picard title is all about Jean Luc...
It's gonna be about the dog, isn't it
Well apparently the dogs name is "Number 1" and when you zoom in the dog tag says #1.
And the series is being directed by Frakes.

Do they release each season all at once or one each week?
Week by week, so wait till the whole season is out.
Thanks!
