Wearing my 2009 Maroon Effect shirt today. For those of us who are superstitious, this choice probably makes a lot of sense.
I'll be wearing my 2002 maroon effect sweatshirt. I'm just curious because I've seldom, if ever, seen anybody else with one; but anybody else have that one? It's the "No Tie Required" maroon effect for I believe was the UVA game (either 2002 or 2003).
Would have been 2002; 2003 was my freshman year and there was only an Orange Effect that year. I believe 2002 was the first (maybe second?) year of the "Effect" games, and I think participation was fairly low at first. I'll have to ask my sister and brother-in-law if they have this one; they were in school from 1999-2003 and always participated in Orange and Maroon Effect.
Turkey leg for you for rocking a classic. Now let's just hope that this year's Miami game turns out better than the 2002 game...
I actually have one of those, I love wearing it because you hardly ever see them. I lucked out and found it at the goodwill in Blacksburg my freshman year which would have been '09-'10.

I think our guys will have their heads on right tonight. For me, it comes down to QB play. Both LT and Morris are similar - can be great, but are prone to mistakes. Whoever has the better game puts their team in the position to win. I'll take our D over Miami's any day, so that gives us an advantage. Rattle Morris, force some mistakes, and capitalize.

I feel like this game is just like every other one on our schedule. As long as we protect the ball, we'll win. If we turn it over alot, we'll lose.

I remember seeing Josh a Redding at Dietrick. Dudes chest was like 3 of me wide. One of my floor mates was on the team, Matt Felber, so we got to meet a lot of guys. Matt lehr blew up, not sure if he was using roads then yet. He used to just fill up the dorm room.
I watched the highlights of the 2004 game last night, and this whole day I have been thinking that this game will be similar than that one. I don't think I've ever been so excited for a Tech game ever.

Hah, thanks! I'm a bit of a foody so I love that kind of thing. The wife and I went to French place in old town Alexandria a few weeks back and they had a burger with duck confit and froie gras on it. It was amazing and I felt very American ordering the burger at a French restaurant.

This game needs a Sam Rogers TD, and some defensive TDs...
Halftime analysis: Logan is playing great overall. Still could make better reads on the option, but that is nit picking. Stanford is going to be special. Defense is looking pretty solid, not their best, but what we expected against a talented Miami offense. And the run game is looking good. We are finally looking pretty balanced and giving "All Day Trey" the opportunity to prove himself. Special teams coverage has been horrid except great plays to strip the ball to make up for it.
If Logan stays in this groove and we stay balanced on offense, I don't see how Miami gets back in this game.
And does anyone notice how much Gibson improves the running game? I thought it may have just been coincidence, but early in the year when he was starting, our run game wasn't bad. Since Bennedict has replaced him, our pass blocking may have slightly improved, but run blocking went way down. Now tonight, with Gibson in, we have been getting nice gains and opening holes. Any thoughts?
