Kinda new here and bored waiting on the 2012 ACC schedule to be released (out with it already!), but I was just recently wondering about whether or not VT would have a Thursday home game this year?
Assuming OOC games don't shift dates, GT is Labor Day, and UVA is the last Saturday of the season, that only leaves FSU and Duke as possible opponents for a Thursday night home game.
It seems fairly obvious that VT loves Thursday home games and will try to get one every year, but is it a guarantee? And if so, who do you think the more likely opponent would be, FSU or Duke? I can't remember the last time Duke had a nationally televised game, so it would have to be FSU, right? or does someone balk at playing that game on a Thursday?
Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I'm almost positive that we MUST have a
Thursday game every year. Seeing as it would then either be Duke or FSU, well I think we already know which one its more likely to be. We've played a Thursday night game for every year for like the past 10 years... I woul hope they would set us one up with FSU..
Also, with the new news of a potential BC vs Miami game on Labor day, I think we may not actually be playing GT on the saem night. So there's that option as well..
A Birdie told me a little while ago that it would be FSU-VT on Thursday. It's from a good source, but it hasn't been confirmed by anyone at Tech or the ACC and it's possible things could change. Like StLHokie, it makes a lot of sense.

I would definitely be up for an FSU Thursday game. Well worth taking time off work.
I'm up for FSU on a Thursday too. It would probably be a tougher environment for them than a Saturday game; mid-week travel, crowd in a frenzy, all that jazz. Gotta hope it's late October or November too, so they have to deal w/ the cold.
