Always Felt My Vision Was Bigger Than A Picture ... 🎈🙏🏾COMMITTED 🔮🦃 @VT_Football @BrianDohn247 @EvanGWatkins247 @RibaultTrojanFB pic.twitter.com/FMlrgii2F8— ⚡️Keonta Jenkins ⚡️ (@Kid8s) August 23, 2019
The 3 star DB held 21 offers including cinncy, vandy, fiu, usf, marshall, Indiana but at the end of the day VT was home.
JR highlights below. big, long, physical kid, loves the grind, loves to work, extremely humble, a quit kid that comes to work with his hard hat everyday, I couldn't be more happy for him.

Went to do a quick Google search and accidentally pulled up Keontae Jenkins, a 4-star kid out of Virgnia Beach. I got all excited, then saw he's committed to TCU. Stars be damned...the KJ we got has way better hair. I think we win.
If it makes you feel any better I don't think we wanted that KJ
I think he was the 4* DB who turned out like 2 inches shorter and 20 lbs lighter than his listed measurables on recruiting sites. That def happened to one of the in-state DB's.
6' 3", 180, good wingspan. Looks good my dude.
Is this the earliest video of James Brown?
Welcome Home! Let's Go! good pick up
via GIPHY
I love a good meme, but man, this does a crime to the original material. :D
Has he entered the portal yet?! /s
Welcome aboard! Sounds like a great kid and good pickup.
Let's ride Keonta! Welcome to Hokie Nation.
A comma makes this a lot less creepy.
Looks like a good tackler.
I wonder what they told him about his future coordinator and coaching staff.
I can tell you this. I don't know exactly how the conversation went with coach fu and keonta but the day that bud announced he would retire at the end of the season I had a convo with coach Hamilton and this is the text he sent in regards to your question.
"we prob need to link him on the phone with coach Fuente too so he can talk to him about his plans for the new DC. I don't think hes got anybody picked out yet but I know coach fu and hell get a great dude to be in that spot"
He's 6'3", so imagine he can grow to be like 200. With his speed, he could be very good. Plus he's playing against some of the best in Florida.
Probably more like 210-220. 6-3 200 is how big Steph Curry is listed at
For the record, I doubt Curry is actually 200lbs as a fellow 6'3 guy. If he weighs 200lbs he carries it very discretely.
He definitely weighs that. The guy has put on a ton of muscle over the years. Sneaky strong
Excited to have him on board! Seems like a great development prospect that can play all over the secondary!
This is the kid what's his name told us about that he brought to the bbq bash thing. Awesome! Jacksonville kids are always ballers! Keep'em coming.
I thought the old saying was the only thing good about Jacksonville was driving through it?
That saying is flawed. Driving through Jacksonville SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.
agreed! actual footage of what happens when you drive through jacksonville.
I think it's hilarious how often the JTB/295 interchange shows up on Reddit. Everyone thinks the traffic must flow so well and all the locals are like, "ummm actually..."
Same guy who posted the thread haha. 904 always has great info from that area.
Yea, 904 lol; sorry I've had a few too many tonight, you know us Irish and our whiskey 🥃
May the Saints presarve ye!
Good luck tonight!
appreciate it! going to be uphill sledding for us. bolles is tough. our freshman QB going to have to make some plays for us to have a chance.
I'm excited to check out some of that mandarin/AC game.
Nice win!!!!!
So...tell me about this QB... : )
https://www.news4jax.com/sports/university-christian-tops-bolles-in-show...
thanks man! I still don't have a voice! was coaching our butts off!
our QB is a freshman, hes going to be nice as he grows. honestly hes only been throwing the football for about 6 months of his life lol. he played QB in middle school for us last year but he was just running 99% of the time. he worked his butt off this summer training and as the season goes on and our staff trust him to do more stuff hes going to burst on the scene.
that was a HUGE win for us. weve never beaten bolles and they were ranked #10 in the region. great start to our season! last week we beat florida high which features willie taggerts son at QB and hes pretty good. following that up with the win over bolles, we got Christ school in north Carolina this Friday and then after that our toughest games are first coast (well go against tyree saunders one of the kids that I brought up for the BBQ bash at VT) and then Baldwin. If we can keep playing at out current level and stay healthy we have a good shot at getting back to state after losing in the semifinals last season and losing state the season before..
Didn't Tebow play for Bolles?
nah he went to nease
Well he played for Nease but was home schooled. Wish he would bring some money back to the school and build them some buildings instead of having 30 trailers.
Tebow does a lot of amazing charity work. I'll pass on nitpicking him for not donating buildings to a high school he didn't actually attend.
That was more a rant about the amount of trailers we have here at all our schools. But also a little snipe at the fact kids get to be home schooled with varying standards to that learning but then get to use school facilities to practice and play a sport.
No, but per their PR page...138 team state titles with 91 state runner-up finishes in 17 different sports. Athletically, they are probably best known for olympic swimmers.
I think their last 5 star was John Theus (UGA), who lived 2 blocks down from us. His transfer to Bolles may have cost Fleming Island a state title run. He and Ian Silberman (UF/BC) would have been on the same OL.
Read during the last Olympics Bolles has had a swimmer for at least two nations in the games for decades.
Great get! Size can't be taught, or instincts. He will be an instant success never mind the "stars". Great attitude and work ethic as well.
Like the length, closing speed and tackling. That hudl looks like he's
playing against good competition too.
Very good athlete with a lot of upside, but personally I think his tackling technique needs work. I saw a lot of going to knees instead of driving through the contact and sometimes a lack of wrapping up opting to hope for the collision to do the work. He also has a tendency of letting the ball carrier come to him instead of meeting them. I think this is very coachable though. I would have liked to see more film on his coverage too.
Good get.
I watched the Hokies last year.
EVERYBODY's tackling technique needs work, so they'll all be working on the same thing.
True. Ashby held it down though
I like the size. Looks like a nice pickup. Lets Go!
