Watch Hokie Nooners With a Bad Bartender

I bartend at Lost Dog Cafe-Dunn Loring every Saturday until 4pm. I would love to have Hokie crowds for noon games. We have 21 taps, 17 of which constantly rotate, and good food. We also added liquor in July, however I was never properly trained so I don't know what I'm doing. Ask for a complicated drink at your own risk. I can do faux-rails upon request, and I think I can get away with charging $12 for them.

Our TVs are first come first serve, so please show up early and often so I can put them all on VT and put the sound on. We get ACCN.

We get ACCN.

This man has his priorities straight.

Buried the lead though....

True, true.

Haha my b

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

So it's a Stroman Jersey tradition to drink beer out of my VT tervis on game days. If I can bring that I'll stop by for a few games this year.

Here lies It's a Stroman Jersey I Swear, surpassed in life by no one because he intercepted it.

I don't think I'm allowed to do that, you can always come in and we'll ask

Most places cannot serve you in outside "glassware", but we frequently bring a glass into breweries that don't offer tastings to share pints, and have never been questioned. I think you can re-pour into something if you want, but they likely won't fill your glass by the same policy that most places can't pour a new beer in a used glass.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

I'm near there, I'll try and stop by sometime.

I would also like to drink out of my VT Tervis tumbler.

These pretzels are making me thirsty.

Everything about this post caught my attention. If I lived in the area, I would drink my face off at your bar.

Hmm, I just realized this is probably in violation of the Community Guidelines ("Don't self-promote") but I have to believe that the amount of "Good TKP" in the post balances that out.

It's more in line of the group gatherings/watch parties. The real benefit for me is getting to watch/listen to the game while working.

I'm in...would like to see a safer bike route from the W&OD though.

I live next door to Lost Dog and bike that route between W&OD and Dunn Loring metro station regularly. There is a bike lane on Gallows up until just a bit before Cottage St. From that point - if I am hammering, I stay in the road and take most of a lane (there are two each direction); and if I am riding more leisurely I jump onto the sidewalk. Once you get over the bridge and to the metro station, the road opens up more and you can also move off into neighborhood streets.

Thank you! I could see the bike lane and its' end via Google Maps imagery, but couldn't figure out how stressful that last 1/4 mile-ish segment was.

I will try to stop by at some point during the season. If y'all do gather as a group this Saturday share a photo.

Also, are there PBR tall boys?

We don't, we have regular sized PBR. We're more of a craft beer bar if you're into that sort of thing.

Side note: later start games may run into our live music which starts at 7, I'll watch them and drink after I get off but live music will take precedence at the bar.

Aye! I remember you. I used to work from there every friday when Jimmy tended bar from 2014-2017ish. Best 15 pounds I ever gained. I moved to a townhouse down gallows a ways, but will try and stop through this year if I can.

If anyone goes order:

A National
No bacon - sub chicken
No thousand island - sub jalapenos
No Coleslaw - sub avocado
Add lettuce
All on a pita

Best 8.50 sandwich in the area

Chick Patty w/ Cheese

Ahem...8.95...cost of living. :-)

Welp... still worth it!

Chick Patty w/ Cheese

Prices went up last summer, you've been there since then though, right?
Jimmy works at Cowboy Cafe in Arlington last I heard.

That seems...complicated.

Also I believe I read "no bacon"?

(add if applicable) /s

Its certainly a trade off. Subbing the chicken for bacon gives a few more ounces of food.

Chick Patty w/ Cheese

No. An ounce of bacon is worth a pound of chicken.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

OR you could skip all the customization and order either a #18 ("The President" - Roast Beef, Brie, Bacon, Avacado, Mayo) or a #40 ("Westover Club" - ham, turkey, bacon, provalone, ltm, really one of those "greater than the sum of its parts" sandwiches, because it shouldn't be as good as it is imo). Sammy's Club is also good...as are a ton of pizzas (Italian, Rin Tin Tin, Ricky Ricotta are my top 3).

I used to basically live at the Westover Lost Dog, and those were always my top repeat orders. Don't sleep on the fries, either, they're legit.

Can I bring my lost dogs? Though to be honest they sleep through football games.

Might have to make my way there because the wife broke her lost dog's pint glass.

Our best friends just moved to Arlington/Alexandria - this would be a good - semi-half way point for us to meet up.

We'll be sure to make a couple of games there.
