I don't know how people can say this. Offensively we have 10 more first downs than BC, 5 more minutes of TOP, and a few more total yards. the difference in the game is our 5 turnovers. You can't expect to win a game if you turn the ball over 5 times.

Who turned the ball over? Who has a limited playbook because they can't recruit/develop a QB that they need? Who has an extremely talented OL that is super soft? Who has one of the most talented WR/TE groups in the ACC but can't get them the ball consistently?

0-1. Great. There is absolutely zero exciting about this team that makes it worth a watch. I see less than average everywhere. Maybe a receiver or two that has a pulse but that's about it.
Totally agree. I am turning this season off and focusing more on doing stuff in the yard with my wife. This is an absolute waste of time. Through this game alone I can see the hype is crap and Fuente is going nowhere. I am not going to dedicate my valuable time to this garbage
I've seen about enough of this. Fuente either takes over the offense this week and starts calling plays or I'm done. Cornelsen is not getting it done. Willis has talent but you can't turn the ball over that much. Total liability. Yes the defense was weak, but we thought ol Fuente was going to show us a storm on offense. Pathetic and unacceptable.

BC is a 6-6 team, tops. And. We're losing. We're not on our way back, but if you're delusional and think the 80th best recruiting class will fix this, have at it.
It's one game. Don't write them off entirely just yet. If we get smoked by ODU, then it's time to hit the panic button.
The defense giving up 35 points isn't awful considering BC was spotted 5 turnovers. They couldn't get much of a push up front which is scary. At times, BC just bulldozed the D-line. BC is one of the more physical teams we'll face though. But overall the defense should be better than last year.
The offense was extremely sloppy but they did show that they can move the ball against a mid-tier ACC team. Turnovers can be fixed. Hopefully they will respond like they did after the UT game in 2016. That team also self destructed but they significantly improved after that.
It was a very disappointing performance but fortunately, the mistakes are fixable. The potential is there. Whether or not it will be realized remains to be seen.
I am sorry but have to disagree. VT was ill prepared, flat, lacked motivation and got smacked. They did win in the stats column in the second half. But this was ugly and absolutely indefensible. Willis got canned from Kansas due to excessive turnovers. History repeats itself.
I skipped over most of this thread's comments, but the few I read were desperately negative. I am writing in to tell you that this was the best thing that could have happened to this team.
Clearly, the big problems from last year have been fixed. Defense is much better. Offense will be much better when they clean up the mistakes. Chemistry is much better. Heart is much better. Coaching is much better.
Everything is where it needs be.
This is a little wake up call for what is still a very young team. A minor setback for a major comeback, as a wise man once said.

Nope! This team has no pass rush, can't run the ball and a QB who gives the ball up on a platter way to much! They have had a year to improve and it sure didn't show.
I haven't posted anything in a long time, and I won't any time soon. Tech football has been appointment viewing for me since 1997. I've cared to the point of season tickets. I've donated when I did t have the money. This is Fuente's walled off program. Own it and prove me wrong, but I'm over it. I won't wall off my Saturday's. I won't ignore my girlfriend. I won't spend gas to get out there for game weekends. I'm good. We're officially a middling ACC team.

as imperfect as the Defense was, as inconsistent as the Offense was.. they were playing well enough to win except for those two pesky redzone turnovers (OL playing matador and Grims getting butterfingers) that BC turned into 14 points.

BC is not a good team. The Hokie runblocking is horrendous, again.... The pass rush was non existent. The worst part of this game was the playcalling is still really predictable and appears to have no rhythm. Felt like that was a very winnable game, might have to lower my expectations for this season.
