Correct. Flip side of the coin: they did not win in a convincing enough fashion to alleviate the trepidations of the (majoritah) fanbase. While the victory itself is acceptable (& positive verses alternative), it is still insufficient.

We all wanted more from this game but we wait through a long ass offseason to watch the Hokies play. We just notched a W so I'm going to enjoy it and think about the other program issues and stuff another day

Listening to the post game right now and Mike Burnop sounds seriously depressed (or sick or something). He is doing his job and finding some positives, but he certainly is not his normal self.

We won. We are 1-1. The recovery from last season's toxicity will not be done in an offseason. It will take all of this season and part of the offseason to do so. This team is better than last year. Is this not a fact? Will they continue to improve? I think we will see a slight "see-saw" effect, but progressing up and to the right as we see small "ups and downs". I believe any significant on field improvements will be largely seen next season. Any this season would be a blessing and we would all gladly take it. Now, if a recovery isn't truly happening, we will know before season's end. And, if so, a come to Jesus moment will soon follow Coach Fu and staff.

This is a great idea and could be applicable as it's own article this week! Add long term outlooks for each player (lol after 2 games but still) or whether they should only play 4 games this year and redshirt.

I thought the smoke was dope. Sure it smelled a bit but that, plus playing Enter Sandman through the second chorus, added a ton of excitement to the entrance that I feel like we lacked a couple years ago.
The only in-game experience that I thought needed to change was the whole "GET LOUD" thing when we started a critical drive. You're supposed to do the exact OPPOSITE. It used to be that you could practically hear the offense playcalling from the other side of the field.

That was my biggest frustration of this game...if we could've taken down Smartt every time we got near him, this would've been a great performance.

In the stands we looked at the play and the long delay. We figured they were going to give the ball to ODU and also eject the player.
There were a lot of missed calls when we had the ball. There were at least two text book examples of PI that the ref's swallowed their flags on.

When did the cheerleaders start doing the colored smoke when the team runs on? I liked that.
It was new for this year. They can send it bak to Miami. It stunk (smelled bad in the stands).
Also new was the score board modifications that made it hard to track game stats and moving the alumni chant to after the 1 st quarter instead of 3.
