Georgia Tech's men's basketball program is ineligible for the 2020 NCAA tournament due to rules violations.
The NCAA announced the decision Thursday, citing major recruiting infractions committed by former assistant coach Darryl LaBarrie and a former friend of coach Josh Pastner.
In a statement that accompanied the NCAA's notice of allegations in March, most names were redacted. However, Pastner's former friend, Ron Bell, identified by the NCAA as a "representative of the institution's athletic interests," was said to have provided more than $2,000 in impermissible benefits to players in 2016 and 2017.
The NCAA says LaBarrie gave $300 to a recruit for a visit to an Atlanta strip club and provided false or misleading statements to the NCAA about the visit. The NCAA also says LaBarrie attempted to influence a team member to provide false information about the visit.
In addition to the postseason ban, Georgia Tech also was placed on four years probation. During that period, the program will have a reduction in one scholarship and have limits placed on the number of official visits and other recruiting activities, including communications with prospective student-athletes and available recruiting days for its coaching staff.

Well at least we know how the NCAA is punishing Kansas
*isn't - as in they never will punish them.
How is this fair compared to what UNC did? I hate that UNC has rigged the NCAA in their favor!
Damn, NCAA so pissed at Kansas and Arizona it's punishing Georgia Tech.
Didn't GT already put themselves on post-season ban by their recruiting? /s
Kansas will get nothing.
Hopefully it was the Cheetah
Maybe he's into cougars.....so Clermont Lounge.
So a coach and school cooperate and get hit. What has this taught deep pocket schools? DONT COOPERATE with NCAA!!
Poor Georgia Tech, the NCAA really hates them. I've never forgotten how the NCAA took away their 2009 ACC championship because some third stringer got some free clothes.
Hey now; I know their tradition of stealing T's is unique and kind of charming.
But there is no such thing as a victimless NCAA violation.
(Sarcasm intended)
NCAA is a fucking joke.
If I were GT, I'd sue and in discovery demand all UNC records.
