Michael Santamaria - 2014 Commit

Place-kicker out of Georgia committed in July from what I understand.

Excellent leg - very accurate with very good range.

I don't know if this is a full scholie offer, or a preferred walkon offer. I do know that he can arrive in August 2014, or greyshirt and arrive in January 2015.

Appreciate the link, but I still don't know if he was offered a full scholie offer with the option to greyshirt, or a preferred walkon offer also with the option to greyshirt.

Beamer doesn't give any kickers scholarships out of high school. They have to win the job first and then he'll reward them

He does on very rare instances -

Cody Journell 2009
Nic Schmitt 2002
Shayne Graham 1996

now all we needs is a nina and a pinta

Snap by Nina,
Hold by Pinta,
and the kick by Santamaria...
Its GOOD

I watched that video. Yeah, I watched a kicker's video. But, damn, he has great lift, an excellent leg and his pre-kick routine was so simple and consistent. Very impressive.

So you're saying he can kick? Can he start this week?

I love his statement "There's an empty NC trophy case I want to help fill."

This kid is pure win.

Interesting concept ... a kicker carrying a team to a national title.
Let's ask Peyton what he thinks about that.

You could ask Graham what he thinks, he was a Hokie kicker after all.

Fortune Favors the Bold

Graham was a great kid. We gave him a bit of shit when he declared for the draft, then didn't get drafted. He still had the last laugh though, pretty good career, which is heard just came to an end.

I would expect if we need to throw a Hail Mary, it will help to have a player named Santamaria on the roster. Amen.

may get a full scholie now journell has been dismissed? or was his scholarship already given to one of the incoming recruits?

he was a senior so he was gone in a couple weeks anyway

Onward and upward

Can he start Saturday???
