Looks like he'll be wearing #22 in place of the injured Tony Gregory. Below is the link to his HS Highlight video:

Bud Foster got him from Walmart.
No no no ... it was Kroger ... c'mon RocketHokie13, the clientele at Kroger is better -- better recruiting ya' know.
I think you may have missed the tweet:
But the full quote was:
I knew there was more to the quote, but couldn't find the full quote in my feed.
Could someone with photoshop skills shop Bud Foster walking out of a wal-mart with Kristensen under his arm? Maybe something about Rollback prices, too?
After seeing his film, I'd like to see him have more follow-through on his kicks. It might give him more power.
Anytime I am having a bad day at work, I can count on TKP to come up with a good chuckle, the creativity on this board is endless.
You're very welcome!
So I was going to do this but hokiesports.com doesn't even have a picture of him...
Sounds like we're trying to keep him as a secret weapon, only to be unleashed all over those stupid turtles tomorrow.
After his kicks in today's game I though the same thing about his follow through. He looked to me like he sort of scooped the ball into the air on his foot and I would think a strong follow through would give it more power and and the look of a good kick. He looks good though and seemed to be able to consistently kick a ball straight for chip shots in at least, disregarding the missed field goal which was from a hash.
I hope at some point Saturday he trots out and nails a 40+ yarder. I also hope we don't need it, I just want to see him do it. Like in the 4th quarter with us up by a million or so.
THIS....this would be awesome
If he set an NCAA record for longest kick in garbage time all things will be right in the world.
just to see a well done extra point would be nice....
Guys, you know how this works -- everytime we get a new kicker, the game seems to ALWAYS come down to him.
Like the Marshall game this year....
Dare I mention the Sugar Bowl? It's okay, I was there and watched that nightmare unfold in all of its gory glory.
Me too, and I was surrounded by wolverines! They even said it was a catch.
See, this is the main reason why I can't hate Michigan. Yea, I'm upset about the bowl game (still), but I gave Brady Hoke a lot of credit when, in the post-game interview, even he said he thought it was a catch. He made no excuses, and just told it like he saw it. No political BS about anything or stroking the officials' egos. The group I really have from the Sugar Bowl are the PAC-12 refs.
It was the ref in the replay booth that I really dislike. He had already incorrectly called a replay in PAC-12 game earlier in the season.
Yep, he draws special hatred. The guys on the field get a nasty look from me, too, because of the two BS PI calls on Hosley.
Worst thing a replay official can do is overturn a correct call on the field.
thats because it WAS a catch. GAH.
This kid lives in my dorm. Great kid. Told me last night he was getting the start. He is kicking PAT's as well as field goals from 40 yards and in!
Gotta love how Foster doesn't even know the kids name...yet he is still pulling for the kid!
Actually he is from Ann Arbor MI. Here is a you tube of him kicking off in high school.

And his recruiting profile:

That name, that name, wasn't he in a Thor movie? Maybe he is Thor.
Go Hokies!
Before I watched his video I was all like

And then after I watched it
What? You became a Florida State fan??

I'm gonna take a moment to appreciate the fact that this conversation was conducted about 95% in meme/gif form.
looks like someone is trying to bring down that percentage...
Monty Python upvote!
Terry Bowden looks excited for his dads old team
No one is saying much, but there is no doubt the team had contact with him prior to this week. It would not surprise me that he tried to walk on last year and did not make it. But made enough of an impact to be registered in the memory file. We will find out more as this story evolves.
He tried out Sept. 4th and made the team Sept. 22nd.
40/46 extra points in HS. . . .
hmmm. . . .
I just hope the divisional championship doesn't come down to him.
WE WANT TDs!
Looking at his measurables on the recruiting profile, all I can think is, "yup... he's a kicker."
Hopefully between Gentry and Hughes this kid can pick up some #KickerSwag.
Is it just me, or is anyone else seeing that he doesn't appear to be kicking off a block in the video?
His hokiesports.com profile has recently been updated (still sparse), and it seems like he does have experience hitting decently long FGs without a tee.

The 63-yarder in practice is pretty awesome, too.
I don't get it. Is Branthover just not very accurate? Why not use him for all the field goals then?
Because,
Historically, we've seen walk-ons do well for our kickers and punters.
What would be cool is if CFB calls for a field goal on 4th & short in 4-down territory just to make a point, display confidence.
...and as previously mentioned, if the game comes down to that, we've got other problems.
Uh, see past games.
Means we got problems...
Kid did OK, but looks like he's still in high school.
