Unfortunately, Niagara HC Patrick Beilein (son of John Beilein) had to step down because of personal reasons. So, Niagara assistant and Hokie fan-favorite Greg Paulus gets promoted to the head job.
Niagara coach Patrick Beilein stepping down, former Duke player Greg Paulus to act as interim
It'll be interesting to see how he does as a head coach. He has some pretty solid experience as an assistant for Thad Matta at Ohio State for a half-dozen years, among other schools.
Shoutout to the preeminent hateable Duke white guy of my teenage years, Greg 'Teabag' Paulus!

You mean Syracuse legend Greg Paulus?
You mean Heisman favorite Greg Paulus?
RIP Beano
Ahhh. who gives a s@#t
Feel bad for the Beilein family over this. Hopefully Patrick can get the help and support he needs and his family won't be put through too much.
I feel bad for Niagara fans over this. After all, they live in Buffalo in the winter-isn't that punishment enough?
I clicked on this hoping to see the greatest teabagging the world has seen since 1773. Mission accomplished.
Political GIF!!!
going to my safe space now

You're nothing if not consistent.
First of all, nobody cares.
Second of all, great opportunity for a teabag photo.
Nicely done.
Niagra will hang tough but lose to a couple of P5 teams in December. Their best win will be stoney brook and John Feinstein will argue they should get in the dance over NC State, etc.
I hope he has a long and successful career so we keep having excuses to post that photo of him getting teabagged.
I wish we played Niagara this year, would be great to hear the "T-Bag Paulus" chant one more time
We might in the NIT
Unlikely as there are no NIT games on the way to the Final Four
Any chance the students still chant Teabag Paulus? I enjoyed continuing the chants in the immediate years following his career at Duke.
Yeah, his coaching status shouldn't change what we know to be his true identity.
