Joins Jalen Hoyle as the 2nd commit in Virginia Tech's 2021 recruiting class. Seems like we have a little momentum brewing on the trail after the last few weeks and some particularly exciting home game atmospheres.

Physical, hard hitting corner who's not afraid of contact. Also a shifty running back with a good burst to get through the hole and into the second level.
I look forward to him being an undersized TE. /s
He was given the Generic Three Star 0.8600 Rating sometime between last night when he committed and this morning when you posted.
Happy to see some early returns for the 2021 class and hope these guys show out over the next year and help land more quality players for us
I feel pretty good about the potential for both he and Hoyle to rise a bit in the rankings. I'm not saying they will be mid 4*'s by the end of the cycle, but I would expect them to rise up to high 3*/low 4* with more film and some solid camp showings.
I like this guy, but I'm a big fan of Hoyle
A little worried about B1G schools coming after Hoyle. He seems like someone who will get that Michigan/Penn State type attention down the line.
Yeah seems like a guy Michigan would like
I'm a big fan of Hoyle as well
Welcome...Can we call him Nike...that way we'll have 2 guys with the name Nike
Welcome to Hokie Nation, Mr. Johnson!
Let's keep this thing rollin!
Those Wake Forest wins will get after ya. Keep winning and playing exciting ball and the recruiting will bounce back.
I got you fam
If we get that QB from Texas, the 2021 class is going to end up being something special.
Happy to have him. looking forward to Mack Brown trying to pronounce his name once he flames out as a coach and gets back in the booth.
"Noo-kell-us" Johnson
-Mack Brown, probably
"Cornelius Johnston" - Mack Brown, probably
Actually laughed out loud at this one because I could totally see Mack doing something like this. Maybe when he's calling games again in a few years.
Y'all assume he will wake up from his naps to make it to the Games.
And Matlock better not be on!
It's pronounced "Kevin".
Brandon Walker made an interesting point on Barstool's college football podcast. He talked about recruiting services like Rivals and 247 catering to teams that have a lot of subscribers like Texas A&M and Tennessee. His theory is that the recruiting services will bump up recruiting rankings to keep these subscribers excited.
I'm sure this is accurate to a degree at all levels of recruiting and some of it is the services being lazy and assuming that certain teams only go after a certain caliber of athlete, then the ranking falls in line. We are no stranger to signing a guy and him immediately getting the .85 tag thrown on him. I wonder if Wake Forest signs a kid and he immediately gets an .81 ranking or if Tennessee signs a kid and immediately gets the .91 ranking.
I hate to break it to Brandon Walker (or you) but none of this is a news flash in 2019. Or 2005.
Looks like an excellent player, and he has a cool name.
Welcome Home.
