Most inconsistent team in college football

There, I said it. We all know it.

Well, now we have two weeks to stew a bit and take it to the Hoos, who I now have to put up with saying that we lost to Duke and UMD, too. Just thinking about that makes me a bit heated.

So, have a good weekend all. I'll be back for UVA Hate weeks...

The bad news for the hoos is we will probably play great against them!

I don't know about that...we came out pretty poorly after our last bye week...and we've played pretty poorly against teams that we're supposed to handle and played really well against teams that are supposed to beat us. We're bass ackwards this year. I would love to see my Hokies stomp loluva into their own turf but this team hasn't given me a whole lot of reason to have confidence in them. I'll be at the loluva game cheering for the Hokies no matter what...but I definitely don't think a victory is guaranteed.

Onward and upward

Well given that we're probably an average team and the status of teams we lost to:

Bama, 'nuff said
Duke, actually good
BC, not too shabby themselves
Maryland, started off hot got injured and now might be gaining steam

All those games were a toss up in my unbiased opinion. UVa is just a bad football team. If the defense can get a few turnovers or a score then I think it won't be that uncomfortable.

Lot of things that contribute to inconsistency. Logan is one element, but must remember that our offense is still coming into its own. Lot of young players and new OC. Bud seems to kiss dual threat QBs (Williams and brown).

Must remember its a rebuilding year.

At least we've got more wins at this point in the season than last year and things to look forward to in the future (With some changes that may or may not come).

Wanted to say that. But was hesitant. Could fudge up UVA and bowl game and end with same record. So holding back.

My comment was hopeful optimism!

When you start 5 freshmen on offense, things won't go smoothly all the time. We all knew Maryland had the potential to be dangerous, we all knew Miami was overrated and we all knew there would be bumps in the road this year. Very little has (or should have) come as a shock so far this season.

*EDIT* Just to touch on the defense, lots and lots of teams struggle against mobile QBs and read-option stuff, which is why it is so prevalent in college football. If we tackle better today, the result is likely much different. Can't expect 18 to 20-something year old kids to execute perfectly all the time. Crap happens.

Bad time

I guess we can dial back the praise for the offensive line in the Miami game. While they definitely did their job, I just watched Duke's offensive line make Miami's front seven their bitch yesterday.

Miami is terrible on defense. How did FSU not score 70 on them?

My biggest disappointment this year has been special teams. Frank Beamer has always said that special teams errors were easy to fix, not a big deal. WTF, then??!!

Watching our special teams has been like watching an awkward kitten try to climb down a set of stairs. Your rooting for it, and you love it, and you think there's a chance it won't fall on it's face this time. After it falls on its face you feel disappointing in yourself for expecting anything different. It just doesn't look like they're executing. It's like... there's only so much time in the week to try and nail everything down and as much as offense is struggling, we focus our time on that, and we try to get the defense to where it can make up for the offense, and then we're out of time for the special teams.

Mental Image
So about like this.

IIRC he also said part of the problem was too much inexperience, or freshman or something like that.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Upvote for analogy gif.
