Horse on Treadmill back...

I have not seen anyone talking about this yet.

For anyone not at the game they played the VT commercial, except showed the HoT like 3 or so times in it. People went nuts (including me, this is when I started losing my voice). They showed the commercial one more time with similar reactions.

They also had the #1 Fan thing as usual, except the last picture was just the HoT.

That game was tough. Especially the fans in West who complained that my group was standing.. The Horse on Treadmill absolutely made my day though.

Not even my favorite stationary horse could make me feel better about this game.

The only thing worse is knowing the anus Maryland fans are gloating and Edsell is on top of the world.

Good fucking riddance.

Bigger, Faster, STRONGER...BUILT TO HIT

I didn't know I'd be back. They didn't tell me anything about it. Better go ask for my royalties. One bucket of oats, please!

I'm starting to realize that there are Hops farm in the commercial. That is bad ass. I went to the maryland extension, as they are doing hop research, now I need to check on what vt is doing...

hops as in beer hops? I must know more

Long time listener...first time poster

Beer hops. Apparently VT got a grant.
Couldn't find the video to verify. There is however tons of Horse on treadmill all over the vt channel on YouTube.

Virginia Tech works with the Virginia Cooperative Extension.

They are working to see what hop crops can be grown successfully in VA and NC Piedmont regions which pose some difficulties due to conditions which are conducive to certain diseases which make growing hops in large quantities Eco moo ally difficult.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

HAHAHA Eco moo ally.

Was that 'economically' on autocorrect?

Yes, yes eat fish.

Sumo teams the damp spelt chap is tooth honey.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

That was awesome. They replaced almost all of the shots in the spot with horse on a treadmill. Kind of like an inside joke that 60,000 people are in on.

I'll be honest, even though we lost, I had a great time at the game today. The atmosphere was great.

And that was mad important for those recruits there. Even through the TV I could sense it, and realized that those recruits would think it was live.

I was thinking that too.. Any recruit that watched fans go crazy over their kicker and a horse must have been pretty awesome. For the most part it was a great atmosphere today.

I was there today, I remember thinking during the game it was a great atmosphere.

Yeah. It was.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I loved the H.O.T. video, it did get the crowd going, but I disagree with the game atmosphere. I know early games are a little bit more subdued then night games, but the crowd was pretty weak.

1. People arrived late, many walking in during the first quarter and not waiting til a dead ball to walk up to their seats. They just meandered in the way of fans who were clearly watching the game. Very un-hokie.
2. Leaving early. Down 21-7 fans were streaming out of Lane like there was a fire drill or that we were down 42-7 or something. A two score game should not drive people out the way they did.
3. The fucking paper airplanes and the wave. Both of these things got wild cheers when the team was either on offense or when they needed to be backed up on defense. The plane shit needs to stop, it makes it look like a high school game out there, and the wave on a key drive in the 4th quarter is just idotic. The only thing that shut the crowd up was Logan getting absolutely creamed on a blitz and the crowd realizing the team was on offense and just took a big hit on their QB because they were waiting to stand and cheer in unison. I mean, really?

The Dude Abides

it sounded pretty loud on the radio fwiw.

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

Those that stayed were loud, that much is true.

The Dude Abides

Well why didn't you say so... I wasn't at the game ... Losing to MD in OT feels so much better now.
I wish I wouldve known this at half time wheh! . GREAT GAME! win or lose

It saddens me to have my kinfolk used for manual labor. I knew that horse in high school, and it was pretty evident this was his ceiling, though.

For you, Horse

for those of you who weren't at the game, here's a fan video of the commercial played. it doesnt quite start at the beginning but you get the idea. as a friend of mine put it, "who else has an 60,000 person inside joke?"

I'm so proud. I love all of you, too

Devil's advocate here. Since the veterinary college is a joint venture between Tech and Maryland, isn't it possible that the horse on the treadmill is partly theirs? Why do I feel my turkey legs slipping away?

"I'll put a quote here to distract you from my inane comment."-Me

I won't downvote you, I want your comment to be 100% inaccurate.

Only because the horse on a treadmill is ours and ours alone. No hard feelings!

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

My dad used to work in the veterinary college and the satelite equine hospital is sort of not a part of VPISU at all because it was abandoned. It's now sort of a self contained type deal. On the other hand, treadmill horse.

No.

...

No.

Sadly, unless there was a second commercial that I missed, the TV spot did not feature the horse.

"We were at the pinnacle, and we did it for years," Foster says. He pauses, nods, takes a deep breath. "And I did it with the best guy in the business."

I was there at the game...right by the video board...I looked up and saw it....I said to my son "Look, Horse on a Treadmill!"....I had no idea!
AWESOME!
