Just finished watching the game.
1. Hendon Hooker was, once again, extremely efficient. Even in the bad weather he just manages things very well.
2. These officials were horrible for stretches of this game.
3. I HATE missing over a dozen snaps because ESPN thinks I want to watch everything else but the play on the field. Whey can't they just let us watch the game??

Totally agree on ESPN. Somehow the production efforts when jones and Dusty call the games are simply awful. One play was called back on a penalty and they just ignored it and kept coming back to plays as the ball was being snapped or immediately after. Very hard to follow and another example of how they suck.

This is what I was hoping for. Obviously a lot of people weren't there. But the ones who were there were there to make a difference. I thought we had a pretty good crowd considering the disgusting weather. Bud deserved a sellout but he will get that next week in Lane North.
But today was a vintage Bud game. And I will always cherish it. I'm emotional just thinking about it now. I can't believe it's coming to an end.

FAM!!! Awesome win!!! Defense was vintage with the score, 3 4th down stops and the shutout. Should have had an interception to boot. That PI call was BS.
ESPN 2's coverage was horrible. There was a penalty on one play that gave us a first down that they didn't even mention b/c they were talking about a pitt defender on the sideline. Felt like I was gonna miss a ton of plays the amount of time they spent focusing on anything other than the field.
Ref's in the 2d half were trying to make it a game. The late hit on conner, i think, was bogus. No PI on the pass to Turner was egregious. The bogus PI to overturn the INT.
Other than that loved it. GO HOKIES!!!
The refs were worrying us in the stadium for a bit. They ignored the late hit on them where we were clearly out of bounds and called one on us where their guy was clearly in bounds.
The PI was also egregious.
When they showed the replay of the late hit in slow-mo on the broadcast, the Pitt player's knees were clearly down with about an inch of grass between him and the sideline, and the announcers go "looks borderline there, tough to tell".
The only borderline that could have been was close to the border of in play and out of play, on the in play side. What a joke.
Couldn't watch the game yesterday, as I was with in-laws, and they didn't go to bed until midnight-thirty, so I just finished watching the game.

FAM! It was very cold and very wet in the stands and that was the longest second half in history, but we were LOUD and didn't have to put up with ESPN's useless production and incompetence.
I know this was probably said before, but I think the fans that did show up should be properly recognized for their unbelievable support of the team and be designated as true and superior Hokie fans. I had no excuse for not going but made many. All week I was watching the weather but kept telling myself that the team needed my support, they did not quit even though many of us swore them off throwing in the proverbial towel early in the season. I watched the weather all week, and in the end because I was unable to convince any of my other "fair weather hokie fans" (even at Chichos the night before), to make the 5 and 1/2 hour trip I let the team down. As I watched the game at Lucky Oysters eating steamed shrimp at the oyster bar on a dry cozy bar stool, and watching the rain come down, the guilt was unbearable, the suffering that I saw my fellow Hokie fans going through confirmed that I am a second rate Hokie fan. There was one thing that made me feel better, I wasn't a frickin Pitt fan soaking wet, freezing my ass off and watching my team get their asses kicked.
As one who was there in person and sat down for at most two minutes , thanks! But I don't look down at those who couldn't make it; I feel bad that they did't get to enjoy it in person like I did! Enter Sandman never sounded so sweet at the end of the game though my voice was gone from screaming so I had to sing it an octave low!
Also keep in mid that Pitt was snapping a first count EVERY play and STILL had two false starts!
And as I mentioned in another thread, a huge shout out to the video folks for playing Sweet Caroline and to my fellow fans who sang along with the obligatory "Eat Shit Pitt!"
