Yeah, not really sure where to put this. At some point, we need to talk about 3rd down conversions. Over the last 4 games we are 13 for 52 (25%), which if applied across the season, is good enough for DEAD LAST IN FBS (#130 = 27.13%).
Both sides of the ball have looked amazing over this time period, so I'm not sure what is causing the poor 3rd down conversion. This does seems like something that has the ability to really unexpectedly hurt us at some point and the UVA game would be an unfortunate time for it to happen.

I think a good potion of this is from playing conservative "shorten" the game approach. That's not to excuse it, but may need more context/data to know whether it's a glaring problem.
We'd all be happier with a higher third down conversion rate!
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I concur. Being up big on GT we were just killing the clock. Also being up 21 on PITT, in the rain, we're not terribly concerned with converting 3rd downs longer than 4 or 5 yards.
We seem to move the ball when we need to. I think if we're in a game next week, we'll be capable of moving the chains on 3rd down.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Yeah our 3rd down game has been not too good. Also I still think that Hooker is due to an INT. He still makes at least one or two questionable throws each game. But seriously, not much to complain about after this insane turnaround.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I mean, let's break down the games:
-Notre Dame: We played a field position game with our 3rd string QB who had a horrible day passing
-Wake Forest: Fuente himself said they went conservative on a lot of 3rd downs because they knew they would be going for the 4th down. Now, you'd still rather get the first on 3rd than 4th, but this could be partly due to the game plan.
-Georgia Tech: I'd have to rewatch the game to see what the deal was here.
-Pitt: I mean, Pitt is an incredible defense and the weather played a part.
This kind of thing we definitely need to clean up against a team like Clemson though.

I guess depending on how you look at it, those could be reasons for poor 3rd down play or excuses. An excuse is a self-justification; a reason is an explanation. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell the difference. Either way, let's hope everything results in a win for the good guys!

Sometime bad penalty will force the head coach to reconsider the drive's strategy.
For example: against Pittsburg, on a particular drive, VT got a 1st down called back to a holding penalty, and then Fuente must have decided to concede the drive since the defense were playing out of their mind. Sometimes there's thinking process that goes like that rather than to risk a turnover. I think that happened twice in that game where the OL made some mental mistakes.

Just decided to read the Sabre. Seeing them try to convince themselves that they will score easily, make us have another QB change, all the pressure is on VT etc is really quite amusing.
I hope we crush them every year, but years where they have false hope are always a little more special for me. Here's hoping that is the case once again this year.

Hooker amazes me with his quickness. He has serious top end speed, as he demonstrated in a 69-yard romp against W&M last year. But I agree QP probably isn't much of a drop-off.

2017 - VT pitched a 10-0 shutout at Lane North.
2012 - VT won their 9th in a row, which became the longest streak for either side of the rivalry.
2007 - VT beat uvanus in Lane North again, in the first winner-take-all ACC Coastal division championship in the rivalry.
1990 - Frank Beamer's first win over uvanus as head coach. The only VT win in a six year stretch.

I forgot to mention that the 2012 game is where Mike London cemented his reputation as TimeCop. At the game neared its end with the scored tied at 14 all, VT had the ball and was driving for a FG. Instead of using his last two timeouts to preserve clock and have a chance for his team to get the ball back down 3 and at least 30 seconds on the clock, TimeCop let VT run the clock down to 4 seconds and then used both timeouts in order to ice the kicker. VT kicked a FG as time expired, winning 17-14.
After liking the man for his tenure at Richmond, I'm pretty sure that was the moment when I lost all respect for his ability to coach in the game.

At work the other day, someone said that they've never seen anyone hate another team more than I hate uva. They just don't understand it.
It's not just about football. I despise just about everything about uva. (Although I'll give them credit on the medical front. That's one field you don't mess around with.)
I hate how they think they're better than everyone else.
I hate how they think they're just like an Ivy League.
I hate how they're too pretentious to use words like campus, freshman, sophomore, etc.
I hate how they play Auld Lang Syne after every touchdown . . . and it's not even their fight song!
I look forward to Thanksgiving weekend 2048 when we can break the record of longest winning streak over one team that Notre Dame set over Navy.

Imagine how much fun we would have with this gif if that outstretched arm/hand which was pleading and longing for the ball belonged to a UVA player and was why VT recovered the fumble causing them to lose.

I still cannot get over how VT beat UVA on that play. When I saw the players celebrating, I was like, "What just happened," and then I saw the replay and broke out laughing/celebrating.
LET'S GO!

UVA fans think they're going to knock all of our QBs out of the game...

I'm going to withhold my hatred for UVA up until Friday, only because I'm appreciative to the UVA fan who told me he didn't want to go to the game and gave me four tickets and a parking pass for FREE.
See you all Friday!

I was thinking this weekend about how much I hate LOLUVa. I mean, I hate Pitt, Miami, GT, FSU, Syracuse, and West Virginia, too, but those are really mostly grounded in our football history (or maybe their fans in addition to the history). With LOLUVa, there's been nothing football-wise for over 15 years. With them, it's the attitude of their students and alumni. We will never be on the same level as them, according to the brainwashing you get in freshman douchebag 101. I grew up in Charlottesville. I chose not to go to LOLUVa because they weren't as good an engineering school as Tech. Still, I have childhood friends say I wasted my college years by going to an "inferior" school. It doesn't matter that many of the ones who went to LOLUVa for engineering ended up in business anyway. It doesn't matter that I got a hell of a lot more out of my degree than the ones who did stick it out.
I'm reminded of that old Northwestern chant "Hey Hey, it's OK. You're gonna work for us someday." Normally, I'd say that's a shitty thing to chant to people. Crapping on someone for their profession/earning potential is a real dick move. However, I find myself in the position of managing a mechanical engineering department and I get to evaluate engineers for hire and on-the-job performance. Every time I interview an underqualified, overconfident LOLUVa alum, that chant echos in my brain.

Wholeheartedly agree on the caliber of engineers that UVA puts out. I've been on a couple of partnering projects with a couple of UVA engineers and only 1 out of 3 was competent and seemed to actually care about the quality of the end result. One of whom had to be called out in a group setting for being an asshat and still didnt understand why I was angry that they were driving carts over and destroying freshly laid and watered sod. The quote was "what does it matter if we fix it later? You dont actually want us to hand carry things across it do you?" Nevermind that they were given two weeks notice of the sod install date.

Having been to Charlottesville once, I was not impressed with downtown. Sure, the Monticello was cool to visit and see how Jefferson made some neat inventions, but the downtown of Charlottesville? Nah, tries too hard to be an "international" city and fell hard on its face.

Having been to Charlottesville once, I was not impressed with downtown.
Sounds like you suffer from a small sample size. I would move back to Charlottesville in a heartbeat if it had the market for my profession and I could demand enough pay to account for the higher cost of living.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I've spent 18 years of my life in Charlottesvile and 11 years in Blacksburg (4 as a student, then moved back about 4 years after graduating for another 7). Take away the years when I was too young to know what the hell was going on and you could make the argument I spent more meaningful time in Blacksburg. I love Blacksburg, but it has its drawbacks.
Inflated cost of living because of the high ratio of students to residents (every house is a potential rental to 3 students with daddy paying the bill jacks up mortgages). Charlottesville is expensive, sure, but wages tend to be higher there because the housing market is driven by traditional economics rather than an injection of outside cash every school year.
Depressed employment market. It' s a catch-22. There aren't a ton of employers in Blacksburg, so there's not a huge population. There's not a huge population, so there aren't a ton of employers. The end result is many people consider getting to live in blacksburg a perk and the salaries available reflect that. I worked as a consultant for some of my time there and often got offers for salaried positions from companies I would contract for. I was amazed how much more I can make in a salaried position elsewhere (Charlottesville and Lynchburg are what I can compare to, personally). Literally 35% more for the exact same position in similarly sized companies.
Limited commercial options (shopping, restaurants, etc) because of the number and median income of residents in and around Blacksburg. More and more Blacksburg favorites are going under in place of chains that can reliably make money off the student population (insert "millennials killed mike's" here /s). Charlottesville can support more variety because of the year round, higher income population.
Schools are a funny category. Blacksburg HS is one of the best in the state, but holy crap do home prices in that district shoot up. You get outside of that district (you know, where normal people can afford to live) and there's a steep drop off. Charlottesville has the opposite situation. Three of the four schools in the county are good (not as good as BHS, but pretty good). Avoid Monticello HS and you're going to have your kids in a quality HS. Then there's the private school options if you want to go that route.
I could go on, but, at least in my opinion, other than LOLUVa, Charlottesville is actually a pretty good place to live. I'm sure some of our TKP brethren who live up there would agree.

I hear you on the housing market. I was telling my wife last night that the market in the NRV sucks. Someone or some company is buying up houses like crazy. I am fortunate to be employed by a major corporation and don't plan to leave. I don't know if the school system in Montgomery County is that great (I doubt it) or how it compares to Charlottesville, but there's the pro and con.
I would leg your post but I'm not at the 20 legs mark yet for your honest take.
Edit: Thanks to the TKP community for giving me enough legs to leg up.

I'd agree, I've been in the Charlottesville area since 1985, and it's been a very nice place to live and raise a family. Admittedly, it's better when we win the cup, but LOLUVA has only done that 9 times in my time here.

I'll just throw this here. I'm sure it will be addressed in today's presser but I didn't hear anything post game.
Anyone have any early indication on Tre Turner and Robinson's status for this game. I know we're deep at WR but Robinson has been lights out in the return game and 'Big Play' Tre 'YAC' Turner has been coming alive lately. Could use both of them to burn that swiss cheese secondary.

The yards allowed, and specifically passing yards allowed are skewed from the Miami game outlier where we gave up 563 total yards, 469 of them through the air. If you drop that one, total yards per game AD drops to 309.2 averaged over 6 games and passing yards allowed drops to 234.3
I was surprised to see statistically, just how stifling our rush defense has become.

I did watch a bit of UVA vs UNC. What stood out to me (without being able to read French's preview) was how quick Perkins get the ball out of his hand and Perkins is one slippery MF. So the defense are going to have to step it up a notch while playing disciplined. On the other hand, the defense has been stellar since Notre Dame, maintaining gap and contain integrity while harassing the quarterback to throw early or off his back foot.
Offensively, I am bit anxious because too much is being made of Hooker not having thrown an interception, and he is good for one fumble snap per game. We can't let UVA hang around. I want another 38-0 game, badly.

From the Banner Society "The Top Whatever, Week 13:"
The Hokies' lifer of a defensive coordinator is retiring. They're sending him off in style, too. Their Week 11 game against Wake Forest was billed as Bud Foster Day, and they won 36-17. Their game this week against Pitt was Foster's last at Lane Stadium, and they won 28-0, which amounted to giving Foster's sendoff its own sendoff.
After getting dropkicked by Duke at the end of September, the Hokies' season shifted on a dime. They've gone from real danger of missing a bowl to 8-3 and will clinch the ACC Coastal if they win at UVA. So either Foster's going to the ACC Championship (and the Orange Bowl) or nobody is, because the world will have ended.

UVA fans already blaming officiating 5 days before the game starts:
"Vegas knows the behind the scenes stuff like how the ACC wants the higher ranked team playing Clemson in the ACC title. Expect a screw job from the officials as well on Friday"
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Very important to start building your alibi several days in advance.
Seriously, though, this is exactly the way I imagine UVA "fans" thinking and talking every day of the year. "We are entitled to win every game, and if we lose it was someone else's fault."

"We match up well with them, even with the injuries"
A whole thread dedicated to them arguing about how the Orange Bowl selection works.
"Expect an overwhelming number of students to be back"
"I'll be there bright and early at 9am to start sipping Waterbird Moscow Mules"
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
There's palpable Orange Bowl discussions like we have here.... and then there's type of nonsense arguments over there:
"If we (UVA) lose Friday, and VT gets blown out by Clemson, our chances at the OB might actually be better since we should move ahead of them and get the invite to the Orange Bowl"
Waterbird looks to be a Charlottesville based company that sells pre-made "canned cocktails". I guess mixing a Moscow mule is to much work in HooVille
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Found their website. Since they use an unknown vodka in their drinks that's a hard pass for me (well maybe just because its vodka). However, they use aluminum cans for the Moscow mule, it's just disrespectful. Only a copper can would do. These pompous spirit makers want me to bring my own copper mug for a beverage in a can? Unacceptable!

Not sure my go to for a tailgate would be a Moscow Mule, but sitting at home in my sweatpants at the fireplace, I could get behind a Moscow mule since I can control how much vodka's going into it.
And the only correct answer to: "How much vodka?" is: All of it.

I have used vodka, bourbon, tequila, moonshine, and gin to make mules. All are pretty tasty to me, just depends what I feel like/have available at the time. Been on moonshine lately.

I've been working on a project with a UVA grad at work. I made an email rule that sent an Auto-reply message that I wasn't accepting emails from Hoos this week. Except I accidentally also had them being sent directly to my deleted folder. I just caught that now at 4pm on Monday on a 3 day week. Been waiting on an email reply from them since Friday which they apparently sent this morning but I didn't get it until 4pm. I regret nothing.

2016: After four consecutive years of close games, VT breaks open a big ole can of whoop ass on the Hoos with a 52-10 victory. The only time the margin of victory was higher was a 48-0 beat down in 1983.
2011: 38-0, bro.
2005: For some reason known only to the ACC and ESPN, VT played UNC on this day instead of uvanus, who they clobbered 52-14 the week before. I was a very sad cadet, having to come back early from Thanksgiving for 3 out of 4 years. At least we beat the tar out of the 'heels 30-3 in a primetime game.

The '83 Squeaker was my freshman year! Hokies tore down the goalpost in Scott Stadium Lane North. VT averaged about 9 yards on first down. Finished 9-2 and got snubbed by the Peach Bowl for the 8-3 Heels who UVA had beaten the week before we plastered the Cavs. (Lot fewer bowls back then!) Even then UNCheat was a thing!

Isn't this probably one of UVA's biggest games in the past 10 years?
Here's the best backtracking of a fan for this team I've seen so far.
My friend at work and her have been talking up UVA since the beginning of the season and how they've been pumped to go watch the game in Charlottesville because this was the year. A few weeks ago they started waffling about going. Now I see they've posted their tickets for sale on Facebook.
I sent an Owen Wilson gif in the comments saying: "We've Got A Nervous Nelly Here". The response I got back was: "I don't want to make the trip that early to watch a JV game on the Friday during Thanksgiving".

I hate the BooHoos with the best of them and think I have never met a more ridiculous wannabe-Ivy group in my life (went to grad school at William and Mary with a bunch of them) but this takes the cake. I went on their page on 247 and found this is their rant column:
"Bud had problems with drugs and coeds and the Head Coach doesn't want that happening to him". Just wow....I was impressed with some of the things that Mendenhall had to say about our team and Bud though. I really want to see "Defeat Cobras" all over Lane North! Let's Go Hokies!
Not really about hating uvanus, but just some info I found out. The game is being called by Dave Flemming, Jim Mora, and Paul Carcaterra.
I'm not sure what Flemming's current main assignment is, but I know he's been around Thursday and Friday nights. I believe he called our first Black Friday game, the night game at Lane with the blocked punt in the end zone.

2011: winner-take-all for Coastal championship
2012: VT needed the win for bowl eligibility.
2014: both teams needed the win for bowl eligibility.

2018: VT needed the win to continue playing for bowl eligibility.
2019: winner-take-all for Coastal championship

2015: VT wins a close one in Beamer's final regular season game. Fuente was semi-officially confirmed as the new coach during the broadcast.
2014: On a cold Friday night when the winner goes bowling and the loser stays home, VT wins their 11th in a row.
2009: A 42-13 VT win in Hooville.
1998: The last time uvanus won in Blacksburg.

And a special mention on this date in 1963: Skipper is introduced during the annual VPI-VMI game.

I don't think QP is faster than HH?

Nothing wrong with traditions. There is something absolutely wrong about all of their traditions though.
On the one hand, I miss that man.
On the other hand, as a member of the class of 06, his 0-6 record has some special personal meaning.
You orange and blue wearing mfers look like Blippi.
As a a parent that has been forced to watch that, I fucking hate that annoying piece of shit. Genius those creators may be, but I want to throat chop that fucker.
I can relate. ... Very much so.
May all of uvanus be smothered in rotavirus induced bowel movements
This gif gives me anxiety
I take pleasure in how all the wahoos just end up standing around looking on at the inevitability of it.
better?
This one is giving me almost as much anxiety as the other one because of Garbutt having it, but not and then it goes squirting out the side.
LET'S GO!
We're gonna beat LOLUVa so bad, the NCAA is going to rescind their bowl eligibility.
UVA fans think they're going to knock all of our QBs out of the game...
"I can't wait to see Mack lay the hammer on Hooker, Patterson, and Willy. It's a good thing they've played 3 QBs this season cause when one of them can't do it next Friday they're going to need options..."
What they were wishing for in our game against Pitt:
"VT win and Herndon Hooker injured."
I see they have improved their message board slightly. It's still ass and far inferior to TKP but it's at least a little less frustrating to navigate.
Every time we win to them it's "a lucky break." And now wishing injuries on players?
Fuck that pompous, toxic website. They're legitimately terrible people.
To be clear here - this post got mostly negative responses. Most of their fans at least recognize that wishing somebody gets hurt is ridiculous.
I'm going to withhold my hatred for UVA up until Friday, only because I'm appreciative to the UVA fan who told me he didn't want to go to the game and gave me four tickets and a parking pass for FREE.
See you all Friday!
W t f
You better check that those are real hahaha
Valid point but I'm holding them... they are as real as it gets.
For as "confident" as UVA fans have been all season... I'm seeing and hearing a ton of UVA people offloading their tickets already.
On this day in history (November 25):
2006: VT extends the streak to three. It's also the first shutout of the current streak.
2000: VT hands George Welsh a defeat in his final regular season game.
1982: On Thanksgiving Day, VT hands George Welsh a defeat in the final game of his first season.
Came on TKP hoping this thread would be up. I was getting anxious on my morning commute just thinking about Friday. Could seriously feel the butterflies you get like before a big competition/important interview, etc. Let's Go!
HOKIES!!!!!!
Just bought lower bowl tickets off of a UVA fan for $50 less than the resell value on StubHub and Vivid Seats. Can't wait to be heard loud and proud.
There's two types of really good (and by good, I mean hate filled) rivalries:
Having been to Charlottesville once, I was not impressed with downtown. Sure, the Monticello was cool to visit and see how Jefferson made some neat inventions, but the downtown of Charlottesville? Nah, tries too hard to be an "international" city and fell hard on its face.
Sounds like you suffer from a small sample size. I would move back to Charlottesville in a heartbeat if it had the market for my profession and I could demand enough pay to account for the higher cost of living.
You would? Blacksburg > Charlottesville all day. Thankyouverymuch.
I'm hearing that both are likely to play on two podcasts that say they've heard from sources close to the team. So nothing official but good news.
Edit: As expected this was asked in the presser. As expected Fuente was vague. "Everyone is doing great" I'd expect they're fine.
Thought this was interesting...the team stats on ESPN
Points Per Game- VT 30.8 UVA 33.2
Points Allowed Per Game- VT 22.3 UVA 22.9
Total Yards - VT 381.4 UVA 381.0
Yards Rushing- VT 172.5 UVA123.6
Yards Passing- VT 208.8 UVA 257.4
Yards Allowed- VT 347.9 UVA 323.2
Rush Yards Allowed- VT 118.1 UVA 118.8
Pass Yards Allowed- VT 229.8 UVA 204.4
Fairly comparable stats...now lets look at the comparison AD:
Points Per Game- 35.4 (+4.6)
Points Allowed Per Game- 18.7 (-3.6)
Total Yards- 391.6 (+10.2)
Yards Rushing- 186.1 (+13.6)
Yards Passing- 205.4 (-24.4)
Yards Allowed- 345.4 (-2.5)
Rush Yards Allowed- 77.6 (-40.5)
Pass Yards Allowed- 267.9 (+38.1)
Hoo Hate Week is every week
That's why we got all the calls our way vs Pitt /s
Very important to start building your alibi several days in advance.
Seriously, though, this is exactly the way I imagine UVA "fans" thinking and talking every day of the year. "We are entitled to win every game, and if we lose it was someone else's fault."
Their forum has some entertaining takes.
"We match up well with them, even with the injuries"
A whole thread dedicated to them arguing about how the Orange Bowl selection works.
"Expect an overwhelming number of students to be back"
"I'll be there bright and early at 9am to start sipping Waterbird Moscow Mules"
A) We have had to have orange bowl selection discussions on this site too
B) WTF is a water bird Moscow Mule?
There's palpable Orange Bowl discussions like we have here.... and then there's type of nonsense arguments over there:
"If we (UVA) lose Friday, and VT gets blown out by Clemson, our chances at the OB might actually be better since we should move ahead of them and get the invite to the Orange Bowl"
Waterbird looks to be a Charlottesville based company that sells pre-made "canned cocktails". I guess mixing a Moscow mule is to much work in HooVille
This is sound, sober reasoning: it assumes they are going to lose to us.
And I assume the "water bird" is a grey goose?
I edited my comment above to explain what Waterbird is.
🤮 the correct answer is replace all vodka with bourbon.
I use bourbon for warmth such as this past Saturday.
When I'm indoors, I don't need that extra blanket.
I have used vodka, bourbon, tequila, moonshine, and gin to make mules. All are pretty tasty to me, just depends what I feel like/have available at the time. Been on moonshine lately.
The UVAh grad that sits next to me at work didn't know who Bryce Perkins was.
I hope we beat those no-talent ass clowns 100-0 but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about this game. The team is rolling, let's hope they can keep it up!
Say what you will, but I stumbled across support from interesting places
https://twitter.com/TreSavage94_/status/1199057403284721665?s=19
https://twitter.com/Eric_Kumah11/status/1199054027260084225?s=19
Saw those too. The hate for UVA is strong when players who left under not so great circumstances know how much douchebaggery there is in Hooville.
I love seeing the hatred from the players' perspective. It makes me feel so much more at ease knowing that most of the players (past and present) probably feel the same way as us fans and there's no concerns about where there head is at. Geez, can Friday get here already...
Damn man. Don't be wishing away Turkey day for us. I've been preparing myself for Thanksgiving all year.
And Travon McMillian responded to Kumah with an "Amen."
This is pretty interesting to see...
On this day in history (November 26):
I went to Tech/UVA game in 1983- total beatdown. Stopped by on my way home to see that game. Would like the team to send Bud out with another 48-0 beatdown.
The '83 Squeaker was my freshman year! Hokies tore down the goalpost in
Scott StadiumLane North. VT averaged about 9 yards on first down. Finished 9-2 and got snubbed by the Peach Bowl for the 8-3 Heels who UVA had beaten the week before we plastered the Cavs. (Lot fewer bowls back then!) Even then UNCheat was a thing!I remember that UNC game. Super weird to play them and it was damn cold.
Let's win one for the Foster...
Get back to us when the tickets are half price.
They wont sell to Tech fans from what she told me.
Then who the hell do they think will buy them?
Then I'm OK with them eating them.
Leg for warriors reference. I don't recall how good the movie was, but I will never forget that scene.
I actually stumbled across it on TV last week. I loved the movie when it first came out, but oof, what a terrible movie. Safe to say it did not stand the test of time.
Let's Go Hokies!
https://247sports.com/college/virginia/board/16/contents/bronco-mendenha...
Are those kind of like Surrender Cobras?
I'm tempted to fill the bed of my pickup truck with pieces of asphalt that we can shower onto the field after we kick the shit out them.
Probably good thread to let everyone know that ACCN is airing the 2018 VT-UVA game at 5:30 tonight
https://twitter.com/ADavidHaleJoint/status/1199344558955487232?s=19
Hale went ahead and ranked QB Passer rating since Oct 1. Hendon score highly 181.1...Perkins not on the list with a 129.49...hmmmm
We've played quite a few similar opponents in that stretch.
I'm surprised no one has embedded the tweet from Trevon Hill (I can't embed the tweet)!
I'm on a different team... But its still HATE WEEK for me!!!!!! Keep the Cup Where it Belongs!
Picture of him drinking from the Cup.
Its embedded in one of these threads
It's not embedded, but it's linked already: https://www.thekeyplay.com/comment/903964#comment-903964
On this day in history (November 27):
2010: Mike London's first game against VT. He manages a garbage time touchdown to avoid a shutout.
2004: The streak begins.
A few years ago someone did a GIIF with beamer dancing on the 2005 UVa logo (with the T painted on).
Times when there was something more on the line than the Cup during the Streak:
2006: uvanus needed the win for bowl eligibility.
2007: winner-take-all for Coastal championship
2008: uvanus needed the win for bowl eligibility. VT needed the win to clinch the Coastal.
2011: winner-take-all for Coastal championship
2012: VT needed the win for bowl eligibility.
2014: both teams needed the win for bowl eligibility.
2015: VT needed the win for bowl eligibility.
2018: VT needed the win to continue playing for bowl eligibility.
2019: winner-take-all for Coastal championship
Don't know who created this but still an all time favorite
Ok, I'll be that guy.
Bronco Mendenhall's name anagram to Channeled Moron Lb.
On this day in history (November 28):
2015: VT wins a close one in Beamer's final regular season game. Fuente was semi-officially confirmed as the new coach during the broadcast.
2014: On a cold Friday night when the winner goes bowling and the loser stays home, VT wins their 11th in a row.
2009: A 42-13 VT win in Hooville.
1998: The last time uvanus won in Blacksburg.
1981: VT wins 20-3.
And a special mention on this date in 1963: Skipper is introduced during the annual VPI-VMI game.
Should we place guards at all the fire alarms in the team's hotel...seems like I remember our last trip there they were pulled in the middle of the night.
There are only 3 qualified women that attend loluva. And they all date Hokies.
