The MBB team plays Duke tonight at Cassell at 7PM. The game is on the ACC Network(sorry if you have Comcast).
Duke is 8-1 with the only loss to Stephen F. Austin at home. How does that happen. For the only common opponent, Michigan State, we won on Maui; they beat MSU at MSU.

They shoot well overall and from 3. They rebound well and block shots. Have more assists than turnovers. And are scoring 84 points per game. Going to take a great game from Horne and Ojiako for the Hokies to have a chance.

They were promoting ACC champ game so they were talking UVA football. Also, he is a UVA alum so.....
He even mentioned that it was the first time he's been able to look Tech fans in the eye for years. Cest la vie, the winners get the spoils, and the bragging rights.
The potential of this team in the next 2-3 years is off the charts. The confidence and effort from these young players has been so surprising to me this season.

Since Coach K's early timeout in the second half, offensively, our entire team looks like they had a lobotomy. I understand Duke stepped up their defensive intensity a little, but we've looked just plain lazy and lost.

Welp, impressive for this team to control the first 30 mins of the game but our lack of depth and Nolley reliance is showing. Not a game I expected us to win but it's always very disappointing when a game you controlled for the majority just falls apart.
Couldn't keep it rolling. There was a lot to like tonight though with such a young undersized team.
Basketball continues to be either you can stop watching with ten minutes to go, or you just need to watch the last two minutes to see all the excitement. :)

Agreed. Talked to him on a flight from RIC to CLT. Wished him good luck on the season and for him to be kind to us when calling games. He laughed and said he was looking forward to seeing what our team would do this year.
Fair enough. Post game he was fawning over Tre Jones and talking about texting his mom pregame. It sounds like that is Tre's problem and not ours.
I come away from this game in good spirits, honestly. We kind of showed that MSU wasnt a fluke. Alot of fight shown tonight until about 10 left, maybe less. I like it. We're definitely going to be better than expected, and the next couple years looks pretty damn good IMO
Agreed. Losses are always disappointing but I've been very pleased, and surprised, by the amount of fight and effort from this team. Seems MY is able to get the absolute most out of the guys. The future is bright.
Had to record the game and watch late last night...
This team played great for 35 minutes or so, but when the defensive intensity ramped up for Duke things went south quickly. Nolley was frustrated all night and it showed. We really need a true #5.
With that being said, this team is going to be a real hand full next season and really good in two or three years. I really like what CMY is doing in Blacksburg!
