Damn. I thought my 1:30 was bad. Also, the last few years the kids actually slept in til 8. Not so fast my friend! This year they were up at 6:04. I'm seeing a post breakfast nap in my future.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Hokie family!
A lazy start to the day with only our 25 year old son and my wife here on Christmas morning. Scrooge playing in the background while we opened serious (oooh!) and gag (hahah!) gifts. A great time with the family.
Wishing all a wonderful day, a Hokie win in this year's Belk Bowl, and a really fabulous new year in 2020.

Christmas music (instrumental Pandora), cheap champagne, Hub's peanuts, French toast to come. Puppy Pie's first bull pizzle, sunny and mild outside with no wind. Rib roast to come with a $60 bottle of Pinot that was a gift from an old friend...could be worse, eh?

Forgot to add watching one of our favorite movies, The Preacher's Wife. Not a religious guy, nor am I a Whitney Houston fan, but we first saw this movie with my now long departed mother when it first came out. The theater was filled with church groups and families and it was one of the most memorable theater experiences of our lives. We try to watch this every year, and I'll admit that the emotions it evokes are very mother related, but man, that Whitney could sing and the music in this movie is truly inspirational. Good feel good family fare. Can't help it, I'm sappy at Christmas time.

Merry Christmas!
Dad hack: always pay to have the bike assembled!
I spent about 5 hours trying to put one together a few years back. Cost me an entire bottle of bourbon.
Um I think consuming a whole bottle of bourdon makes it a lot more difficult to assemble anything.
Sounds like a challenge. Here...hold my drink!
Hold your drink....so you can down a bottle of bourbon?
You can't?
If I have to explain it...you can't handle it.
I'm usually already drinking a bourbon, so why would I give my bourbon to someone else....to drink bourbon
Exactly
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!
Up at 2:00 am to smoke a ham before I leave for my parents house at 7:00 FAM!
Edit: pulled her off at 6:30! Wrapped it in foil three times then in a towel and stashed away in the Yeti. Lunchtime cannot come soon enough!
