WBB vs Florida State

The Ladies start ACC play against FSU today at 2PM. The game is at Tallahassee and will be broadcast on the Regional Sports Network, whatever that means for you. ESPN says it will be available on ACCN.

FSU is a good BBall team, currently ranked no. 8. They are undefeated with wins against Texas A&M, curently no. 11, and Michigan, currently no 23. The also beat LSU who is currently in the others receiving votes group:

They start 3 seniors and 2 sophomores and are relatively tall:

Stats for the stats geeks:

All of their players with significant minutes shoot well over all and shoot well from 3. They win the rebound battle by an average of almost 10 per game. This will be a tough game for the ladies. If they have 20+ turnovers in this game like they had in the last two, they may get run off the court.

HOKIES!

Game will be on AT&T Sprorts Pittsburgh.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

Watched a good bit of this game. Unfortunately I think this is going to look like a lot of Brooks' seasons where they feast on non conference teams and struggle to the bottom half finish.

Didn't watch, but I would hope this is just a result of running into a really good FSU team, instead of what we've seen the last couple seasons.

FSU is a very good team. But the Hokies can play with them. Unfortunately they don't really have a playmaker if the threes are not dropping. Not impressed with Cole as PG. She can hit the open player for the three; but she really doesn't create offense. I would rather see Mabrey at PG. Also disappointed in the use of Kitley. She can be a scoring machine inside; but they don't try to get the ball to her. Today and in other games, she seems to get the ball out past the foul line a lot. She is no threat there. I think our best five would be Mabrey, Kitley, Rivers, Shepherd and Baptiste.
