WBB vs Pitt

The Ladies take on Pitt tonight at 7PM in Cassell Coliseum. The game is an ACCNx game. On paper this does not look like a challenge for the Hokies. Pitt is 3-11, 0-3 ACC with losses to UNC, Notre Dame, and BC.

Pitt starts 4 guards and a 6'4" center. Three of the guards are listed at 5'7"; the fourth is 6'0". They start 2 Fr, 2 Jr and a 5th year Sr. Amber Brown was named ACC Player of the week for the second time this year last week. Green is their best 3pt shooter at 50% on 9 of 18. They play 9 players in most games and three of the players that come off the bench are 6'2", 6'4" and 6'4"; so they can have some height in the game.

Pitt is shooting 34% overall and 31% from 3 in ACC games. The have been out-rebounded slightly, 1.5 per game. They have 1 more TO than Assist per game in ACC play. Almost every player averages 2-3 PF per game in ACC play. Pitt has allowed opponents to shoot 40% overall and 38% from 3.

Stats for the stats guys:

As I said above this game does not look like a challenge for the Ladies. Coach Brooks may have the opportunity to experiment with line-ups and get some players experience playing against ACC level competition. I am not sure whether Obouh Fegue wil play tonight; but she is supposed to be back this week. I hope the Hokies do take this game seriously because any team in this league can surprise you if you take them lightly.

Go Hokies!

Thanks again for the post. You're right, we need to take any and all conference games seriously until the final whistle blows. Lack of focus can sink a good team any game against ACC opponents, regardless of record.

So, I'll just say....LETS GO...
