Is 51 called fouls normal for a college game? Couldn't watch the game, no ACC network, tried to follow on ESPN play by play and all it was acting was foul called, foul called, foul called.

The officiating wasn't bad. We fouled more than normal (good calls most) they were down by 20 and started fouling and we weren't hitting FTs so they kept it up.

It was definitely frustrating but it wasn't a Duke game trying to play 5 v 8. I don't like those sort of ticky-tack stuff, but I'll take it, if it is fair.

I'd guess half the fouls were totally unnecessary and destroyed the flow of the game. Seems the games are flowing well this year overall with less fouls called (except the maddening tendency to call charges in block-charge situations)- most games are ending a little early actually. But these guys were goofy

Since Virginia Tech's victory over Wake Forest on Jan. 21, 2009, the Demon Deacons are 59-133 in ACC regular season play plus 2-11 in the ACC tournament.— Patrick Stevens (@D1scourse) January 15, 2020

Radford is a legit beast, guy is such a quick leaper that he grabs so many boards. Runs all over the floor, just a really fun guy to watch even when he isn't slamming down dunks on 7 footers.
The announcers seemed to be pretty sure Nolley is a 1 and done guy, but I actually think his relative inefficiency and lack of explosive athleticism (relative to NBA standard) means that analysts are sleeping on his pro potential. He definitely isn't being considered a lock as a 1st rounder or something at the moment if you monitor mock drafts and the like. I am pretty confident at the moment he still has some work to do at the college level.
That being said this team just plays tough, Bede is a leader and a good distributor. Cone has gotten confident, overall things are looking good and the ACC is a weird league right now. VT can compete against anyone in the conference on a good day.

FWIW, he's not listed in any of the mocks right now. But its still early(ish). A strong conference campaign and if he has a strong post-season tournament run (conference, NIT/NCAA), he could shoot up. Some teams do get influenced by late season tourney runs. I feel like if he continues his level of strong play for the rest of the season, he'll creep into the second round.
But he's in a similar situation to NAW (though NAW was a more ready prospect) in that NAW could have left after year 1 and got drafted somewhere (late 1st or 2nd round). But he stayed, polished his game, and solidified himself as a 1st round pick. Nolley could leave this year and may get drafted. But with one more year of seasoning, I think he'd definitely be drafted.

I just remember the Eric Kumah tweet. He basically said that Nolley told him he was a 1 and done. And Kumah tweeted it during/after one of our games (maybe MSU). His tweet said, "I guess he wasn't kidding" or something like that.
Nolley is not as good a defender as NAW was, but it is a long season ahead. Nolley just looks the part. His build, his shot, and that quick shooting stroke; gets the ball up so fast. I think scouts are really starting to pay attention now that he is performing so well in ACC games. If he has a few big games against Duke, Louisville, FSU, that'll seal it in my opinion.

3-1 on the road in the ACC FAM

Wake Forest extended the game weirdly with a lot of late fouls, but other than the last 5 was a pretty standard called game.
The officiating wasn't bad. We fouled more than normal (good calls most) they were down by 20 and started fouling and we weren't hitting FTs so they kept it up.
The officiating was not bad, but they were calling a LOT of ticky-tack soft stuff that is often not called. Was not unfair, but did slowdown the game.

Radford is quickly turning into one hell of a playmaker
That, and tonight he made a 7'0 center his bitch
Sports Center top plays 7
I know it's early, but we're 4th in the ACC FAM!!
That gif.... he just keeps going up
FAM!
FAM!
We brought them that bad juju.
Got tickets to the game tonight from the wifey for our first anniversary. That dunk was just as pretty in person as it looks in that gif
I'm telling my (future) kids that Radford the city and university were actually named after Tyrece Radford

We're a basketball school FAM!!!
Someone needs to put the whole "We're a (insert program other than football) school now fam" under our TKP sayings thread. Haha
Did CMY play Pee Wee football? Has he ever watched a football game?
Because....I've heard some rumors about an opening.
Radford with the offensive EXPLOSION! FAM!
There's an opening, but I don't think CMY wants to coach at Baylor.
It's taken 16 years but we're finally a part of the ACC! Our basketball team is better than our football team!
FAM we a BBALL school now!
