Huge props to PJ Horne for battling all game and hitting 2 huge clutch free throws at the end of regulation. He had only shot 8 free throws all season before that moment.

At this point in the season, I don't know how MY isn't at least the ACC coach of the year. I don't know much about what happens outside the ACC but I'd have to think he'd be a strong candidate for national COY too. Much season left though.

Who in the hell thought we would be in the top 4 of the ACC standings in late January, UNC would be in LAST PLACE! And UVA is out of the top 25. Mike Young IMO is hands down ACC COY. This guy came home to prove this was his dream job and he will do anything to make us a successful program. I absolutely feel the momentum rising in basketball. Let's freaking go!

I'll admit I wasn't thrilled after his intro press conference. Since he's loosened up and showed his personality I couldn't be happier with the hire. This man is the only person I would want coaching VT basketball.

At this point, just winning matters more than the actual ACC teams we beat honestly. Yeah losing to the worst team is bad and beating the best team is good, but the record is gonna be what stands out to people.

Man, this team, they are less talented than their record indicates, but they don't quit and really seem to play for each other. I'm quite thankful for what is poised to be an exciting February and March.

I'm convinced Smithfield won that game for us. UNC goes to the line with a chance to extend the lead to 13 (I think). The fans going nuts for free bacon cause those two misses. The fans go even more nuts because they get free bacon, propelling the team to go on a run to cut the lead to 4 and get us back in the game.

Idgaf that they are bottom feeders this year, a win over UNC is great for a young team building confidence. And coming back and grinding through 2 OT's is a helpful formative experience for when March rolls around.
