Thekeyplay.com Tailgate Was a Success

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley and tailgated with us before the Maryland game. Both the turnout and generosity were much larger than I anticipated.

Pam Beale, my contact at the Resource Center, emailed me a few days after the tailgate and I want to share what she said with everyone.

As a group, Thekeyplay.com tailgate generated:

$363.00 in monetary contributions
$100.00 in Kroger gift cards
$150.00 in canned goods

All of these items will help support our mission to end domestic and sexual violence in the New River Valley. As I mentioned when we met, the Women's Resource Center operates a 26-bed Emergency Shelter, a 9-apartment Transitional Housing facility, Prevention Education Programs in middle and high schools within 5 counties of the New River Valley, and non-residential counseling for children and adults affected by domestic and/or sexual violence. On a personal note, I had a blast meeting and drinking beers with you guys. It was great to put faces to some of the website usernames. Next season the tailgate will be bigger and better, so hang onto your pants.
