Punting is winning.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Apparently he is a 5 Star player, but I'm not sure how much weight that carries for punters?

What's
Important
Now

I thought even "elite" punters capped out at about 3 stars? I'm not quite sure why that is, but I know some positions don't produce as many 4/5 stars as others.

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Jet Sweep

He is a five star according to a specific kicking service. He won't be a five star on 247, rivals, or whoever else we're supposed to care about.

Pro Football Hall of Fame?

None. He is a walk on, and a zero star compared to other services where we typically use "star rankings"

Different sites / kicking academies rank specialists. According to most of those, he's one of the best punters in the nation.

I'm not sure 247 or Rivals uses their resources to scout kickers.

Because kickers are just kickers. Heck, if your offense scores most drives having a punter isn't all that important anyway. But, I guess it's good to know the best punter in the country sees Blacksburg as a great opportunity to really show off his skills...

But how is his accent game?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

more importantly, how is his twitter game?

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Fuck yes.

"How you doin', Randy?"

Clearly he understands our offensive philosophy!! /s

5 star I assume based on the specialists rating service?

Did I do that right?

Found some tape:

Previous Challenges: Star Wars (2019), Marvel (2020), Batman (2021), Wrasslin' (2022)

In the next scene, he kicked a little ball into an adult Hoo.

Same reaction, though.

Wait, that isn't an adult 'hoo in the original image?

Preferred Walk-On

On special teams:

The most obvious part, of course, is having a good kicker and a good punter.

I've heard a coach or two, like former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, say "The punt is the most important play in football."

--- Frank Beamer, Let me be Frank

Well, a clean punt and we beat Michigan in the Sugar Bowl, without Danny Coale's catch.

Or if Cody Journell doesn't break and enter and Tyler Weiss doesn't miss curfew...

"Nooooooooooo!"
~What happened?
"James Franklin to Virginia Tech...."
~Fuck me......*sigh*
"Oh my God.... They're gonna take all our recruits... like WTF bro...."
~*squints eyes in disbelief*

Justin Myer did hit 4/5 including the clutch last second FG to tie it up. Hard to predict too many college kickers outperforming him. Sugar Bowl MVP in my book given his circumstance (as you noted).

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

Yeah, no one should be putting that game on him. He played above his standard and I was actually pretty impressed.

True. Although with a clean review, we win anyway.

Just what we need, Moore punting.

I chuckled quietly to myself

This is a work of art. Put it in the Louvre.

Planning for failing to offense?

We don't always punt but when we do...

Wasn't it Belichik that said the Titans best player was their punter?

#Let's Go - Hokies

Really. How people can be so cavalier about our punter baffles me. Field position is absolutely one of the biggest things going on in a tight football game, and a good punter gives a good edge.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

I agree. Tried to make a joke referencing the "World's most Interesting Man"
Belichik was serious. Titans punter was the best in the NFL. He was a weapon.

#Let's Go - Hokies

Yep. I liked your joke, but knew it was a serious statement as well.
