I was shocked at how quickly two TKPers got fully dipped the last time around. Given how great this community has been, I shouldn't have though.
To reiterate: TKPC-only content has helped grow membership (which pays the bills, facilities content, and keeps TKP online), but it sucks for those who legit can't pony up the money to join (students, out of work). For those that haven't noticed, the last 14 posts on the front-page have been available for anyone to read. (Do TKP a solid and share with your friends and on social media!).
Cody scored some 1-on-1 time with Tyrece Radford and has feature set to drop. French is breaking down the recruit film review on the 2020 wideout signees. Who wants to keep the streak of content-for-all going? If two more of y'all join TKPC, it does.

Previously-dipped member here. It's worth it, if for no other reason than you're helping fellow Hokies.
Hi Joe i noticed the new "JOIN THE KEY PLAYERS CLUB" button by the counter -- is there a way to get that displayed only for non-TKPC members? I keep thinking i'm logged out but maybe i'm just not used to it yet
You'll know you're logged out when a bunch of ads pop up. It's how I always know I need to log in again.
i use adblocking extensions so i never saw too much of them anyway -- but regardless, you'd think the ad on the site for the site of the subscription i purchased would be part of the "reduced ad experience" since i already purchased the subscription it's advertising
Yeah, it makes sense to remove the call to action. I didn't think that part of the user experience through. It's not as trivial of a change you might think, but I will address it next time I am writing some code. I do want the persistence of the progress bar though.
yes, i am all for the progress bar! thanks for being receptive to the feedback and take your time with it
Edit: thanks Joe!
Seriously, every time I come on when I've been logged out, its like the scene where Tuttle disappears in Brazil
It's more than you're used to as a TKPC member, but compared to the rest of the internet it could be a lot more aggressive.
Oh I'm advertising averse. Seen my fair share of legit malicious advertising in the past to let any of that past a firewall going forward.
So whenever I see a website with ads on it, it's like walking into a Mad Max movie
Nice
I still don't understand the concept of giving away good content but I commend Joe for sticking to his guns.
Yeah, it's a bit of a test. From a business perspective, there's value in everyone getting a sense of the content TKP offers.
From a personal point of view, a high tide raises all ships.
But we're one TKPer away from making it happen this go around for all.
A high tide raises all ships......gotta remember that one......
i always heard it as "a rising tide floats all boats"
I've always heard nitpickers are lonely people.
Alright, I'm in.
I'm now FULLY DIPPED
I vividly remember the day I became fully dipped. It was the 2018 Duke football game and Danny Coale is my Spirit Animal and myself had tickets to the game and while we were parking, I spoke those fateful words: "If we win tonight, I'll ante up for a TKPC membership." The football gods were listening, and by the time we returned to my car after the game, I too had joined the ranks of the Hokie elite and the impatient wait for my bottle opener began.
Mark me down for this with the PSU game (as well as donating a chunk of change to the Hokie Club)....or we get to 999, I'll be 1000 (i like milestones)
Joe, went looking for the AMZ link to buy something, but it appears to be gone. Is that not a thing anymore, or how do I do it now?
It's not a thing anymore (right now). Amazon flagged the Prime Day thread someone created as a violation of its TOS and removed TKP from the program.
That seems counterproductive on their part
Unfortunately though, it is what it is. I've explained in the past that depending on third-party ad revenue is a less than ideal model and this is a good example of that.
Who did that? Did you ban hammer them? That's at least worth a 4 minute double minor in the box.
So.... set up a process that allows people to donate a small portion of their Amazon purchase to the place of their choice, but if you ever advertise Amazon on that website, you void that benefit?
Da fuq?
Thanks for explaining this. I went looking for the link Sunday and couldn't find it, wondered where it went.
