The 22nd ranked hokies start off the year in Conway South Carolina in the Kickin Chicken classic. They play 2 games tomorrow. 1st game is against Iowa at 12:45 PM EST and game 2 of the day is against Tournament host Coastal Carolina at 5:15 PM EST. Let's kick this season off with 2 wins ladies😃

I don't really follow softball- what's the prognosis for this year's team?
They went 47-11 last year and won the ACC regular season championship. They return 6 starters from last year's team 4 of which got voted pre season all acc. I'm thinking they finish around 40 wins this year and another Ncaa appearance. Next week we are in a really tough pre season where most of the field is ranked in the top 40
I didn't realize how well they did last year, I thought they had an offense problem. Good to know though
They did the year before last. They bumped up their Batting average from .242 to a .332 they went from 35 home runs to 97 and their team from .698 to over a 1.000.
They have 3 or 4 on the ACC preseason team. Got a good pitcher and that always seems key to a good season.
Kickin Chicken classic is a nice season starting tournament. I'll be taking my older girls to see them play a tournament at UNF later in February.

I urge people to find out when non revenue sports are playing near them and go and if you have kids take them. Most sports are free to watch, the players love having Hokies cheer away from Blacksburg that aren't their parents, the team often will stop and talk to kids and even take a picture.

There is a website that ranks softball recruits. I think it's softball america
The class wasn't top 25 but I know Hewitt was a highly sought after Recuirt. And the Whitley twins were highly Recruited as well

Going to try and make a game or two but all based on real world stuff. My wife was T-boned when another driver ran a red light. Totaled her car and she has lots of soft tissue injuries, whiplash, also did some damage to her hips. Still dealing with insurance and trying to find her a replacement car.

Where is parking for softball? This is my first comment on this forum. I'm a longtime lurker because I live in Pulaski and my wife works at VT. I graduated from Clemson in 1974. Clemson's first ever softball team plays at VT April 3,4 and 5.
